Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 950: Don't get too carried away
Edgar returned to his office, tugging at his tie in annoyance at the thought of what the directors had just said. Damn!
Who is sabotaging this collaboration?
"President, I've talked to the other party, but they're still not willing to sign the contract." The assistant walked up to him and reported the situation to him. Edgar turned back, "Did it say why?" "No."
Edgar frowned fiercely, "How can there be no reason? I negotiated the deal with them personally, the terms were agreed upon by both parties, so there has to be a reason for not signing it all of a sudden, right?"
The assistant couldn't understand how the other company could have gone back on its word, as the price and terms offered by Khan Group were the best in the industry and it was inexplicable for them to do so. Edgar took a deep breath and said with a tone of certainty, "Someone must have played a part in this."
And he could probably guess who it was.
"So what do we do now?" The assistant asked.
"Find another company to talk to."
Since that company did not keep its promise, it will be completely blacklisted from now on and will never work with Khan Group.
"OK, I'll get in touch now."
The assistant took orders and left in a hurry.
Edgar closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths, trying to push down the irritation in his mind.
He could not be disorganised, he could not be in a hurry, or he would be like those people.
At that moment, on the other side, Farabee came to the office of her son Arlice.
"Arlice, what a pain in the ass today!" Farabee was full of glee.
He walked up to his son, crossed his arms and said excitedly, "You don't even know how ugly that kid Edgar looked just now. I've been holding my aggression for so many days, and today I finally got it back." Arlice glanced behind him at the unclosed door and frowned, "Dad, could you close the door by hand? And keep your voice down, if anyone overhears and tells Edgar, we'll all be screwed."
It was only when he said this that Farabee realised he had gotten too carried away and hurriedly smiled and went to close the door behind him.
"Dad, this is just the beginning, so don't get too carried away before you get caught out."
Arlice was much more subdued than Farabee, who was excited and pleased.
He's going to do more than trip Edgar up this time, he's going to pull Edgar down from that position.
The Khan Group can only be his!
"Dad knows, Dad knows." Farabee nodded busily.
Arlice suddenly thought of something and admonished, "Dad, make things clean and don't leave any loose ends."
"Don't you trust your father to do his job? I had everything set up a long time ago." Farabee smiled a sinister smile.
Anyway, Edgar will never be able to replace out what happened to them today.
...
Hector and Eloise arrived in Kyoto and went to the hospital first thing.
When we reached the door of Grandpa Khan's ward, we heard a sound of reading coming from inside.
They looked at each other, then pushed the door open and walked in.
Maryam sat on the edge of the bed with a book in her hand, reading word by word.
The old man loves to read, so she had Brimlad bring some books from the study at the old house especially for him, and she reads to him when she has time. Maybe one day the old man will wake up.
She was reading so intently that she didn't even hear the door open.
Eloise stood still, her gentle gaze falling on her mother, the corners of her mouth curving up slowly.
It seems she was right to bring her mother in.
Perhaps sensing her gaze, Maryam looked up and smiled with delight at the sight of them, "Eloise, Hector, you're here."
"Hmm." Eloise walked over and looked at the old man, then asked, "How's Grandpa?"
At the mention of the old man, the smile on Maryam's face was instantly withdrawn and her eyebrows were tinged with a faint sadness, "As usual, the doctor said there was a high chance that he would become a vegetable." "A vegetable?" Eloise was a little shocked, "I thought they said they'd wake up, how come they're a vegetable?"
"It's just possible, it's not absolute."
Eloise sniffed, thought about it and turned to Hector, "Why don't we get Grandpa a more authoritative doctor to look at him?"
Hector nodded, "I'll get Thomas to arrange that."
"Yes, thank you."
Her mother had only just returned to the Khan family and she did not want her grandfather to leave with the same regrets as her grandmother.
Thinking of Sweety, Maryam hurriedly put away her sadness and asked, "How is Sweety?"
"It's okay."
Maryam then nodded reassuringly, "That's good, have to tell your mother-in-law to be careful not to catch another cold in general."
"Don't worry, Mum, she's always been very aware of Sweety."
Eloise came up behind her and squeezed her shoulders as she asked, "How have you been feeling these past two days? Is there anything uncomfortable?"
"Strange to say, I feel so much better in spirit when I come over here." Maryam looked back at her.
"Really?"
"Of course it's true, or would I lie to you?"
"Who knows if you'll lie to me." Eloise laughed as she glanced at the old man in the hospital bed and after a moment's thought, said, "Maybe it's the whole relaxation of being back with Grandpa that's made you in better spirits." Maryam nodded, "I suppose so. After all, the big rock of leaving home has been weighing on my heart for decades, and now that it's so easy to take it off, one is sure to be much more relaxed."
"Then we've made the right decision in picking you up."
"Yeah, and I have you to thank for that." Maryam squeezed her hand, half serious, half joking.
Eloise smiled and said, "No thanks are necessary, just get well for me."
"Got it."
Mother and daughter look at each other and smile.
Suddenly replaceing himself a little redundant, Hector quietly walked over to the sofa next to him and sat down, watching the girls chatting with each other.
Eloise spent the afternoon at the hospital with her mother until it was dark, and then went with Hector to the old Khan family home.
Now that the old man is in hospital, the old house is also occupied by the family of my brother-in-law Baggott.
Brimlad was surprised to see them coming, "Eloise, what are you guys doing here?"
"It's almost noon."
"So why didn't you give me a call?" Brimlad looked at her rather flippantly.
Eloise smiled shyly, "Forgot about it with my mother."
Brimlad laughed helplessly, "You kids need to give me a call when you're here from now on, okay?"
"Got it." Eloise nodded good-naturedly.
Brimlad glanced at Hector, "You guys should be hungry, just as well we were just about to eat, let's have a meal together." "Thank you little aunt."
Brimlad smiled and gave her a long look, "We're all family, why are you so polite?"
Eloise giggled and followed her towards the dining room.
"Look who's here." Brimlad said happily.
Baggott and Edgar turned their heads and looked over, rushing to their feet before seeing it was Eloise and the others.
