Love Comes To Me
Chapter 980: Is it interesting to people

"Rowson, you let go!"

Katerina struggled to break Rowson's grip, but the strength of both men and women was so great that she could only allow her breathing to become more and more laboured. Just when she thought she was going to die like that, Rowson let go.

"Ahem!" Katerina couldn't stop coughing until it eased up, then she looked up and glared angrily at Rowson, "Are you mad?"

"I want to see Bergerian."

Rowson's sudden request made Katerina flinch, "You want to see Bergerian?"

"When I first agreed to be on his research team, I thought he trusted me, but now it seems that he doesn't trust me, let alone my abilities."

He can't go on like this, he must join the core research as soon as possible or the time Eloise has left is getting shorter and shorter.

The mere thought of Eloise's poor condition sent a wave of irritation and remorse through him.

Katerina grunted, "And if I don't say yes?"

She'd like to see how far he'd go for that Eloise.

Rowson stared at her with a sullen gaze, uneasy with a single word.

Katerina felt a little weak inside from the stare, but her mouth held firm, "I won't help you this time, even if you beg me." With those words, she turned and strutted away.

"Bang!"

The door was slammed heavily shut.

Rowson hung his head, a bitter smile slowly spreading at the corners of his mouth.

He only wanted to atone for his sins. Was God not even willing to give him this opportunity?

Just as he was lost in his own thoughts, an unpleasant voice rang in his ears.

"This is the last time I'm going to help you."

He looked up sharply, only to see Katerina gone and back, standing in the foyer, staring at him with a cold face. She just took pity on him.

Nothing else.

...

The Rogers Group, the Khan Group and the Bartram family are working together in a structured way.

On this day, Earlene came to the Khan Group as the head of the Institute.

"Hello, I am Earlene, head of the Institute, part of the Bartram Group."

Edgar looked at the capable and beautiful woman in front of him with astonishment in his eyes.

Her navy blue professional suit accentuates her slender figure. Her hair is casually tied up behind her head, leaving only a few strands of broken hair on her cheeks, making her look somewhat lazy. The delicate face looks more and more beautiful with light make-up.

"Mr Edgar?" cried Earlene tentatively, reaching out her hand and seeing him dumbfounded.

Edgar looked back and realised that he had lost his temper and his face burned a little as he hastily took her hand, "Welcome."

Earlene took in his reaction and laughed lightly before saying, "I wanted to talk to you today about some matters of cooperation, I wonder if you have time?"

"Yes, of course." Edgar answered quickly.

Earlene raised her eyebrows, "It's good to have."

"Have a seat." Edgar greeted her and sat her down in the parlour area, then asked his assistant to bring in two cups of coffee.

Earlene took a document out of her bag and handed it to Edgar, who had just sat down.

"Here are some things to keep in mind for the institute and things to prepare, take a look."

Edgar flipped it open and perused it carefully.

The air moves slowly and quietly between the two.

The assistant brings in the coffee, her footsteps unconsciously lightened for fear of disturbing them.

"It's true that you do research in particular detail." Edgar looked up at Earlene with a gentle, light smile.

Earlene took a sip from her coffee and smiled lightly, "Thanks for the compliment."

Edgar thought for a moment, "I wonder what your requirements are for this collaboration?"

"We've been honoured to work with two large companies and ask for nothing more."

Earlene is right when she says that while Bartram Group and Khan Group may not be on par, they are still a bit apart.

In the words of her brother, it is important to be humble so as to gain goodwill.

Edgar laughs, "You don't have to be so modest, the partnership is mutually beneficial."

Earlene put down her coffee and lowered her eyes for a moment in thought, "Can the three companies sit down together and talk about it then? After all, there are things that should be made clear so that conflicts don't arise later on." "Sure." Edgar said, "Let's set up a time and place."

Seeing him say yes, there was a quick flash of light in Earlene's eyes, "Is Mr Hector coming too?"

"Will do."

"That's good." Earlene breathed a sigh of relief.

Edgar stared at her, "You seem to care if Mr Hector goes or not."

Earlene panicked at being read, but quickly calmed down and smiled, "Of course I care, he's Mr Hector."

She deliberately put a lot of emphasis on the word "Jin".

Edgar understood what she meant, "So much so that I care too. After all, without the Rogers Group, we wouldn't have had the chance to work together." "Yeah."

Earlene picked up her coffee and sipped it to hide her weakness.

The two chatted for a while longer before Earlene left.

Edgar himself walked her downstairs and watched her car leave for a long time without withdrawing his eyes.

...

In the evening, Edgar returned home and brought up the day's events with Hector.

"What Miss Earlene means is for all three of us to talk together some time."

"You just go." Hector's tone was muted, exactly as if he were talking about something that had nothing to do with him.

Edgar looked at Eloise and said cautiously, "But she asked that you have to be there."

"Hector, since Earlene wants you to go, you go." Eloise said.

"Earlene?" frowned Edgar, looking at Eloise suspiciously, "You know Miss Earlene."

Eloise nodded, "Yeah, we know each other, we're friends."

"Friends?" Edgar was surprised.

Seeing his mouth drop open, Eloise couldn't help but laugh a little, "Is it weird that we're friends?"

"It's not weird, it's unexpected." Edgar laughed awkwardly.

Eloise narrowed her eyes thoughtfully and asked tentatively, "Are you so surprised, are you interested in someone else?"

Edgar's face panicked and his mouth denied it, "I didn't, don't you dare talk nonsense."

"You're nervous, cousin." Eloise laughed extra hard, "So then you really like Earlene."

"I don't!" Edgar denied loudly, "I don't have a crush on her!"

"Like who?"

Brimlad came over just in time to hear him say this and asked curiously.

"Just love it..."

Eloise was about to answer when Edgar cut her off in a hurry, "No, just an actress."

Brimlad slapped him on the head and said, "You're too old to be a groupie. The most important thing is to replace a wife for your mother."

"That's got to be found too." Edgar muttered in a small voice, unable to resist the thought of Earlene's face in his head.

Is it true, as Eloise says, that he has a crush on Earlene?
