Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) -
Chapter 3437 What's Up with the Accounts?
Until now, Mack had always handled the Veiled Assembly's finances himself. When Tertius took over and looked at the books, he was left speechless.
"Mr. Mack, what's going on with these accounts? Why does it say you spent ten thousand on a pair of gloves?" Tertius stared at the numbers in utter confusion, pointing at the outrageous expense. Mack looked away, chuckling awkwardly. "Well, Tertius, I know nothing about this."
"But you're the one managing the books! How could you not know?" Tertius retorted, picking up another record. He pointed to an entry showing an expense for a single meal of dumplings-five thousand Dornia Emeralds. "What kind of dumplings cost five thousand?"
Then, he flipped through the rest of the records, and each one was even more ridiculous than the last. A payroll payout of thirty Dornia Emeralds, five for clothing, twenty thousand for groceries-Mack's records were utterly nonsensical. "Sigh, how much money do we actually have left?" Tertius asked, eyeing Mack.
"Let me check." Mack opened a nearby safe and carefully counted. "We've got 105,231 Emeralds left."
Hearing that, Tertius let out a relieved sigh. At least they still had some funds. He could start the books fresh from here.
"Be honest with me, Mr. Mack. How were you keeping the books before?" Tertius asked, looking at Mack with exasperation.
Mack scratched the back of his head, looking sheepish, before laughing loudly. "Ah, Tertius, it was all just... unfortunate mistakes! Anyway, this room's yours now. Good luck!" Without another word, Mack made a swift exit. Looking at the piles of disorganized records, Tertius sighed in resignation. It seemed he'd be sorting this out on his own.
The day flew by as Tertius buried himself in the work, finally managing to bring order to Mack's chaotic ledgers. When he stepped out of the room and breathed in the fresh air, he felt like a new man.
Matthew, spotting Tertius, walked over with a smile. "How did the work go?"
"It was... fulfilling." Tertius struggled to replace a positive word to describe his day.
"Good. Come on, dinner's ready,"

nearby.
Tertius sighed but followed. After all, a good meal was just what he needed after the long day.
At the western dock, dusk had
settled, casting a shadow over the bustling port. The usual activity had been replaced by an ominous
formation of men ready for battle. Each member of the Devil Guild wore a vest, holding various short weapons, with guns strapped to
their belts or backs. Contént belongs to Ebookex
They stood in tight ranks, facing forward. Deadeye, clad in a long black coat, stood before them.
"According to our informant, the
fools at the northern dock have dared to establish their own guild. They clearly don't respect the Devil Guild. So, what do you say we do?" Deadeye's raspy voice carried over the crowd, his gaze sweeping over the assembled men.
Deadeye's gaze swept over the assembled men.
"Charge the northern dock! Show them who's boss!"
"Let them know a guild isn't something just anyone can establish!"
"Chief, let's take them down!"
Pleased by their fervor, Deadeye nodded. This was the kind of loyal force he needed.
"Good. Tonight, we take the northern dock!"
