Married By Mistake
Chapter 32

DYLAN CADEN

“The more I thought, the more I felt like crying,” I mumbled to myself. I couldn’t feel anything but pain and longing. I’m aching for her. God, I love her so much.

I sighed and leaned back in the chair while staring into space. I drown myself in memories that my wife and I are still together.

I miss her warmth.

I miss her smile.

I miss her. So much.

I was startled when my cellphone rang in my pants pocket. I immediately answered that when I saw the number of my secretary.

“Sir. It’s good that you answered.” She says confusingly.

My forehead furrowed. “Problem, Miss?”

“Someone is looking for you. He’s been waiting for you for a while.” She Explained.

“Who?”

“Kristian and Trey Cervantes.”

Luna’s cousins. A corner of my l*p rose. “I’ll be there. Offer them some coffee while I’m on my way.”

“Right away, Sir.”

I cut the call. I stared at my cellphone for a long time. Looking at Luna’s photo on the wallpaper.

I smiled sadly. “They’re going to kill me, aren’t they? No doubt.”

I got up from my seat and walked out of the mall. I went to the location of my car and rang it. I got in the driver’s seat and started the car.

My secretary greeted me as soon as I entered my office. The siblings, on the other hand, were just sitting on the long sofa and killing me with their sharp eyes.

“Leave us,” I told my secretary that she immediately complied.

“We thought you weren’t coming, Reyes.” Trey’s sarcastic voice.

“I’m no coward, Cervantes.” I shot back.

“Really?” Trey said while devilishly smiling.

My eye followed the cup Kristian dropped on the low table. He stood up and looked at me sharply.

“Time to go to hell, Dylan Caden Reyes.” Kristian’s strong voice. I felt a little scared as I saw the anger on his face but I immediately removed that as well.

It’s true, huh? When the nice guy gets mad, even the devils will shiver.

“I’m already living there, Cervantes.”

His jaws clenched. “Then, you should just stay there and leave our angel alone.”

“I won’t. She’s mine already. She’s carrying my child. I love her and I won’t let go of her just because you said so.” I determined to say.

I’m not going to give up on her.

“We’ll talk to you so we went here. But, everything’s change when Luna’s father offered us a hundred million if we bring you to him. Want to know the most challenging part, Reyes?” Trey said as he sat still and crossed his legs.

A hundred million? Oh, please.

“We’ll only take your head. That means, your body will stay here.” Trey explained while sarcastically smiling at me.

I smirked. “Do you think my wife would be happy if she found out that you, too, will be the reason why our child is fatherless?”

I know she still cares for me. She still loves me, right?

“She doesn’t have to know. We can tell you that you left her forever and you will never come back.” Challenging Kristian said as I approached where I was standing.

“No matter what else you do to scare me, I won’t stay away from Luna. Because we love each other. Luna loves me.”

He smirked. “You think so, huh?”

“Yes. He’s mad at me now but when I prove I’ve changed, he’ll come back to me.”

I didn’t see its fist and it hit my face. I felt the throbbing of my jaw due to the intensity of the blow. I stood up straight and met the anger in its eyes.

“Exactly! Luna is a martyr. She’s a f*****g masochist! That’s why you took her for granted! Her heart is so pure. So I wonder why she loved someone like you!” Kristian unbuttoned the collar of my dress. “Shut up! Do you know how much she’s hurt already because of you ?! She’s crying non-stop while telling us what happened to her. Do you know how painful to watch her agony ?!” He pushed me and rushed to give me more punches. “You jerk! You’re going to die now!”

I don’t defend those punches because I deserve this, I need this.

I know her agony because I’m the one who caused it. And it pains me a lot.

A lot.

I wiped the b***d that flowed from my cracked l*p. I tried to cool my expression and looked at Kristian, we both gasped, but his hands were still clasped. Ready to rush.

“She suffered enough because of her father’s foolishness, you know that, right? But, even you, fooled and hurt her too. You fool! You didn’t realize that she’s a fragile jewel and a very rare one!”

My face softens when Luna’s image, smiling and all, pop up in my mind. “She’s a rare one indeed. I’m a lucky bastard to have her love me too much.”

“You’re an a*****e.” Frustrated he said before looking at Trey who until now was still cross-legged and playing with something in his hand. “Hey, Trey, why are you just watching there? Punch this sick bastard. I’m already tired.”

Trey chuckled. “Geez, your stamina sucks, bro. Well, sorry, I’m busy cracking these nuts. Hey, Dylan, don’t you have any nutcrackers?”

“Another loser. F**k it.” Kristian murmured.

“The Nutcracker is in my drawer,” I answer before sitting in the chair next to me. Kristian, on the other hand, sat close to Trey and still looked sharp at me.

“What’s the name of your secretary? She’s hot.” Cool says, Trey. He’s naive. Can’t he sense the atmosphere?

“Elaine Alonzo.” I managed to answer.

I heard Kristian ‘asked. “What? You’re still going to seduce her even if she kicks your balls?”

I smiled when I could imagine Trey’s appearance when my secretary did that. “It’s her habit whenever she sees a molester.”

“I’m not a molester. My eyes were just drawn to her cleavage accidentally. Come one, bro, I’m an innocent man. You know I am.”

It ignored his brother’s complaint but gave me a sharp look. “Reyes, this is your last warning. Don’t dare to hurt her again. I’ll do even worse to your face when you hurt her again. Maybe I’ll do Tito’s order when you repeat.”

“I want more.” Yeah.

Kristian frowned. “More of what?”

“Punch.” I simply said.

“Are you out of your mind?” Kristian snapped.

“The pain of your blow will cover the pain I feel here,” I said as I pointed to the opposite place where my heart was.

“Stupid. Tsk. Trey, let’s go home. Maybe your testicles will be crushed here because you’re too much of a maniac.” Kristian said while shaking his head.

“F**k you,” Trey said. “Hey, Dylan, I have good news for you.”

“What?”

“Skyler Madrigal is here. He’s on his way to where Luna is. I told him.”
