Chapter 1203 Shannon scanned her surroundings for a moment before walking out.After the two went outside, Mason immediately enquired, “What happened to Sherry?”Shannon revealed, “She's at John’s place right now.”

Mason was taken aback by this. “I thought she left. Why did she come back?”

Shannon sighed and said, “I'm not going to hide anything from you. She's currently working as a servant for John because sheowes him eight hundred million, so she has to slave away for him to pay off her debt.”

“What the hell is going on? How did she come to owe him eight hundred million dollars?”“It's a long story, but don't worry. I'll tell you everything.”

“Out with it then!” Sherry was being forced to work as a slave for her ex-boyfriend and her sister's husband, no less, so how wasMason not supposed to feel unnerved by the situation?

Shannon began to relay everything from the beginning to the end of how Sherry came to owe John such a vast sum.

Mason was in disbelief upon hearing the story, “So, you're saying that our family is the reason she came to owe him eighthundred million?”

“Yes, after the complications with the project our families collaborated on, my father ended up going to my sister, who, in turn,ended up going to John for help. John invested a billion dollars into our family business but has only seen a return of twohundred million so far, so he decided that Sherry was going to be responsible for the remaining eight hundred million.”

Mason frowned, “That's just an investment, isn't it? It's not the same thing as borrowing money. That's outrageous!”

“Well, who are we to say what's what in this situation? He probably still has feelings toward Sherry,” Shannon whispered, “I don'twant to see my sister trapped with John anymore, but the current dilemma is that my parents don't have the money to settle thedebt.”

Something shifted in Mason‘s eyes before he immediately turned and walked away.Shannon called after him, “Wait, where are you going?”“I'm going to figure something out and get the money.”

Something suddenly occurred to Shannon. She quickly trotted to Mason and carefully whispered in his ears,” Look, don't tellanyone about this. If anyone replaces out that Sherry is reduced to working as a slave, people are going to start talking behind ourbacks and sabotage the reputation of not just my parents, but the Stocktons as

well.”“| know. Don't worry, | won't tell anyone.”

Shannon‘s stern expression relaxed upon hearing this. She suddenly smiled gently and thanked Mason politely.” Thank you. I'llcome up with something to put the money together as well.”

Mason did not respond and walked away.

Shannon was bothered by his animosity and watched his departing figure silently. She scoffed and proceeded to head back intothe banquet hall.

As soon as she stepped inside, Julie stepped out from behind a corner.

She looked at Mason trotting away, then at Shannon‘s

figure walking back into the banquet hall. A scheming smile appeared on her lips.

Sherry stayed with Queenie until evening.

She was going to stay with Queenie for dinner, but Emerence sent someone over to get her. She was informed that John hadreturned, so she had to head back as soon as possible.

Sherry wrenched her face in annoyance and got up unwillingly.

Queenie and Hailey remained seated and watched her.

Queenie, who usually nagged incessantly at Sherry, seemed to have recognized Sherry‘s disturbed mood. Contrary to her usualdemeanor, she proceeded to advise her, “Sherry, watch your tone when you speak to my brother. You know what he's like. Hedoesn't like it when you try to rebel against him. I'm sure he'll let you go if you ask nicely.”

If pleading nicely worked, Sherry would have done that ages ago. Still, she thanked Queenie politely. “I got it, thanks.”

With that, she went to John.

He had come home and was seated on the couch like a prince, clad in a tailored suit that complimented his figure perfectly.Shannon was seated on the couch next to him. She wore a soft and effeminate look and seemed to be in conversation with him.

Sherry did not want to disturb the two of them, so the moment she walked past the doorway, she stopped and turned around toavoid facing them.

Moments after that, she heard the deep rumble of his voice beckoning her over, “Sherry, come and pour some tea for me.”
