She wasp't the type that enjoyed make ups and instead chose a more natural self, despite the stylist complain. Harry had informed her only a week before about the wedding and while she thought it was a mere joke, the whole plans became serious, when Harry hired the best stylist out there to make a befitting gown for her.
"You looking like a working art, my dear." Debby smiled at the stylist compliment. She had a french accent to her tone.
"Mommy!" She turned around to see Fred fully dressed in a very expensive Italian sized suit. Debby smiled as her son looked all handsome and didn't fail to show it.
"Oh my darling, you look absolutely wonderful!"
Debby complimented.
"You look beautiful as well mommy." He said, making Debby smile. She was joyful seeing her son extremely happy.
When Debby had revealed to Fred that Harry was indeed his father, the young lad was happy and all through the week, Harry and Fred spent more time together.
But a part of her was was sad, Although Harry had moved her father from the dungeon but she couldn't place where he moved him too. When she tried to question him, he had refused to give a specific answer, causing her to be angry - however, she still respected his decision.
"Go and meet Aunty Sarah, I would be down in few minutes." Debby added and Fred smiled at his mom before heading to the maid's room.
"You must be really lucky to be with Harry Vernon." She turned to the stylist, wondering what she meant.
"He is rumoured to be very ruthless despite being extremely handsome. For such a man who had stayed away from women for years to chose you as a bride, he must have seen something special in you that drew his attention." Debby smiled remembering the times Harry had acted like a perfect gentleman.
The door opened and Harry stepped into the room.
The moment he laid eyes on Debby, he paused right on his track. What appeared before him was beyond beautiful, she was simply divine. Her smile made his heart melt and it reminded him of the fact that standing before him, was his supposedly lover from his younger days, whom he had promised to engage in marriage. Harry was glad he was able to fufil his promise of marrying her.
"I will take my leave now!" The stylist indicated, given the duo space.
Both Harry and Debby stood there speechless as they stared into each other's eyes, admiration written all over. Harry made his way over to Debby, holding her hands and kissing them.
"There are so many things I want to say to you, but I lack the right words and phrases to put those words into. You are perfect." If there was one thing Debby liked about Harry, was the fact that he had a way with words and truly those words, left a tingling sensation in her belly.
"You don't look bad yourself. You are all shades of awesomeness, my hubby!" Derby complimented, earning a genuine smile from Harry. It would be one of the rarest moments, where anyone got to see Harry smile.
"So I came to tell you we are getting late, the guests are already waiting and the priest has been on my neck to untie already." Harry revealed.
"Don't worry darling, I would be out in no time." Harry leaned in to kiss Debby, but she stopped him half way through the process. "What's the matter?" Harry asked, seeing a turn down in her mood.
"Harry, I know this isn't the appropriate time, but the least you can do for me is to atleast allow my father grace this occasion. He has already suffered and even though you aren't willing to tell me where he is, at least let him see his daughter getting wedded." Debby studied Harry's countenance and noticed he has moved from being cheering to be being pissed.
"Listen Debby, I already told you, we cannot discuss about this. Today is special for both of us and I wouldn't want to ruin it with Broderick's matter." He finished off and left the room.
Debby turned to the mirror and a tiny tears fell out of her eyes. She wiped it off slowly. It has been weeks since she saw Broderick and knowing that he wasn't going to witness her wedding made her feel very sad. Her happiness wokld have been full of Broderick would be present.
When the stylist stepped in to finish up with Debby's dressing, Debby quickly cleaned her face well before she could suspect anything. She was glad she hadn't worn any make ups on her face as the stylist would have simply blown the roof off with her anger. The stylist soon finish up with applying a beautiful make up on Debby's face then she spoke, "Come on now, the car is waiting." Debby turned to take her flowers and they both walked out of her room.
When they both arrived at the most expensive hotel in the city - the exclusively reserved golden hall was where the wedding was being held. Only the powerful people of the city got to book that place.
Debby became suddenly nervous on seeing the number of super exorbitant cars in the garage of the hotel. Almost every powerful people in North Hill obviously came around. This isn't an ordinary wedding, it's a wedding of the most powerful man in NorthHill. Before Debby could walk into the hall, where she was to be joined with Harry, someone with a mask appeared, extending his hands for Debby to take.
"Who are you?" She asked.
"The boss instructed that you follow the man through the door." Horace replied on behalf of the man. Debby realized that someone ought to aid her to the pulpit and since her father wasn't there, they needed to improvise.
When Debby arrived at the alter, the bishop stepped forward with a Bible, as Harry and Debby stared at themselves.
"Gentlemen and ladies, this a marriage of holy matrimony where we get to join the bride and groom together, the bishop said and faced the man behind Debby, "Do you wish for Harry Vernon to take your daughter into marriage?" Debby felt hurt, knowing that those statements were supposed to be meant for her father, but he was far away.
"I agree to give my daughter to Harry Vernon."
Debby halted a little, hearing the familiar voice. She slowly turned around and when their eyes met, Debby gasped as the masked man pulled off his mask to reveal his face.
