Mr. Poker Face’s Sweetheart By Lee Dubois -
Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Immediately, embarrassed with her own words, Giselle wished she could disappear into the air
Fortunately, Giselle’s date didn’t seem to care about how she had greeted him. Instead, he said politely, “Nice to meet you. I’m Hymes Giles.”
“That’s a good name,” Giselle thought, “but he doesn’t seem as easy going as his name sounded.”
However, the man’s voice was low and quite attractive.
“Hello, I’m Giselle Ostry. I guess someone has already told you about my situation.”
Hymes nodded. His poker face was cold, and his eyes were fathomless..
Giselle had never had a blind date, so she wasn’t familiar with the process. Therefore, she followed her thoughts and said whatever she wanted.
“I’ll tell you something more to let you know better about me.
“I am a talent agent of a Multi–Channel Network, so I often need to go on business trips. However, my daily routine is quite normal. As for my habits… I don’t have any. I usually stay at home when I’m free.”
Apart from staying at home, Giselle also used to go on a date with Mickey. However, they would either go for meals or to movies, which were nothing special.
“Hymes, I’ll be honest with you. I just broke up with someone today, and I don’t want to start another relationship in a short time.”
Giselle wanted to turn Hymes down politely, even though she was very satisfied with his appearance.
Hymes sai stiffly, making him seem like a short–spoken and very self–disciplined man.
As soon as Giselle turned him down, the freezing fierceness emerged in his eyes, but it was fleeting.
“Giselle, I’ll also be honest with you,” Hymes said hoarsely as if he was trying his best to restrain something, “I’m tired of being urged by my family. So, I urgently need someone to become my wife as quickly as possible.”
“Oh… So?” Giselle asked.
Hymes continued, “So, as far as I’m concerned, I believe you have the same worries. And now, our best choice is to marry someone as soon as possible.”
Like a top–level orator, Hymes weighed up the pros and cons, then pointed out Giselle’s weaknesses and needs with very few but very accurate words.
Besides, he made a very tempting offer. “If you agree to marry me, we can sign a prenup. After we get married, we won’t have any community property, and we don’t need to share a bed. You can have as much freedom as you want.
“But whenever you require a partner, a man, or a husband, I’ll be there by your side. Besides, I’m a fair cook, so you don’t need to cook by yourself after we get married.”
Giselle found this temptation hard to resist because she had no idea how to cook.
It seemed that she could marry such a handsome man without worrying about anything else. Besides, she could use Hymes to deal with countless trouble, including pissing off Mickey when necessary.
Although Mickey was also quite good–looking, Giselle knew he was nothing compared to the man in front of her.
“I need to think about it.”
No matter how tempting this marriage sounded, Giselle knew she couldn’t make any decision impulsively.
“No problem.” Hymes nodded and said, “Call me when you’re ready.”
Giselle liked his decisiveness and thought better of him.
She couldn’t help but ask, “Are you the best salesperson in your company?”
With such eloquence and keen insight, coupled with his handsome look, it was hard to believe that Hymes wasn’t the best salesperson in the insurance company.
Hymes was stunned for two seconds and replied, “I’m… just so–50”
“Huh. He’s quite humble,” Giselle thought.
Then, she said, “I’ll think about your offer. I’ll let you know my answer when I come back from my business trip.”
After exchanging numbers and following each other online, Giselle and Hymes parted at the entrance of the cafe.
Giselle was in a rush to catch her flight, so she could only deal with this matter after she came back.

After she turned around, Hymes stared at her charming figure coldly and fiercely, like a beast staring at its prey in the dark.
After Giselle completely disappeared from Hymes‘ sight, he walked toward a black Maybach that had been parked by the side of the road before Giselle
arrived.
Hymes opened the door and got in, then loosened his tie.
He licked his teeth and asked, “Where is that man?”
The driver at the front row replied respectfully, “I bought him two cups of coffee. He has gone back to promote insurance.”
Hymes ordered, “Transfer him to another city. Don’t let him show up again.”
“Yes, sir.”
Hymes ran his fingers through his hair and flipped it backward, his sharp face full of determination and confidence.
The performance of Giselle’s Internet celebrity was quite a hit. But after Giselle came back from her business trip, she didn’t go back to the company. Instead, she hurriedly went home to get her identity card and rushed to the City Hall.
Hymes had already been waiting for her in front of the City Hall.
Giselle saw his strapping figure. His beast–like eyes were fierce and ruthless, adding an overbearing look to his handsomeness.
Hymes seemed like a gangster so much that everyone at the City Hall stared at him secretly, wondering whether he would do anything illegal.
“Hymes.“.
Giselle only hesitated for a second before walking toward Hymes.
She wore a cream–colored sundress and light makeup, making her seem lively and adorable. So when she stood beside the devil–like Hymes, the contrast between them instantly attracted many people’s attention.
“Are you sure?” Hymes was a head taller than Giselle. He slightly lowered his head to look at her, and his grey eyes seemed like they could devour her
soul.
Giselle raised her chin and said, “Yes. Let’s go.”
She thought she would hesitate for a bit longer, but she saw Mickey’s Instagram post when she arrived at the airport that day.
It was a photo of Mickey hugging Jenny intimately. Under the photo, Mickey posted: [The love of my life.]
Giselle warned herself that she should never get Mickey back or feel heartbroken for him. Maybe because of a fit of pique, or maybe Hymes‘ cold but trustworthy attitude had persuaded her,
Giselle felt that marrying Hymes wouldn’t be a bad choice. No matter how fierce Hymes seemed, he was still much better than Mickey.
Besides, after being cheated on by Mickey, Giselle had a hunch that she might never devote herself to a relationship for the rest of her life.
Giselle thought that maybe she was never good at maintaining an intimate relationship. Therefore, marrying Hymes was an easier option.
Besides, Giselle’s parents had also called her several times and urged her to get married. They asked Giselle to go back to her hometown if she couldn’t get married as soon as possible..
Giselle was halfway to becoming successful in her career. She would never quit her job and go back home right now.
Therefore, Giselle came to the City Hall as soon as she returned.
The process was quite simple, but when Giselle said her vows, her tone was relatively flat and awkward.
However, Hymes wasn’t as embarrassed as she was. The priest asked, “Mr. Hymes Giles, do you take Ms. Giselle Ostry to be your wife?”
Hymes‘ tone was extremely serious. He looked deeply into Giselle’s eyes and swore solemnly, “I do.”
Giselle’s heart fluttered. At this moment, she had an illusion that Hymes wanted to marry her because of his deep love for her.
