Mr. Powell Is Hunting for His Wife
Chapter 43: Why Not Marry Me

Diana eyed strangely at Brooklyn who was lying while she strapped her seat beat.

She tried to recall Mirabelle coming to her for a customized perfume and Brooklyn requesting for her accompaniment in the afternoon. With her keen sense of smell.... Together with the question he had just asked her.

Diana pursed her lips. It seemed that everything was coming together in her mind.

For the matter of Mirabelle asking for her to concoct a perfume, she could interpret it as her wanting to attract Brooklyn's attention using that scent.

However, when she put together Brooklyn's question today and asking her to accompany him this afternoon as a superior, everything was pointing at one conclusion.

Diana's eyes slowly expanded.

Could it be?

She looked up at this indifferent man who had his lips pressed into a line, and her face was incredulous.

"Mr. Brooklyn, could it be that... you need perfume to help you to rest?"

Diana's soft voice came with a hint of uncertainty.

She didn't have much evidence, so she couldn't be too sure of her own deduction.

Brooklyn's palms which were clasping the steering wheel went hard for a moment.

But very soon, he returned to his normal self and his dark eyes were focused in the front direction.

It seemed that this woman by his side was smarter than she looked.

"You come to that conclusion?" Brooklyn asked.

"If I connect the dots about Ms. Moss' job request and your request and question towards me, I do indeed come to that deduction." Diana answered truthfully.

She never thought that Brooklyn would need perfume to help him relax. It was no wonder he needed her to sleep with him every noon.

She initially thought that her outstanding features were the reason for his unreasonable requests, but from what she could conclude now... the real reason lied in the scent her body gave off. Diana pouted while feeling a little dejected.

"Mr. Powell, if you need a certain smell to help you relax, why not you tell me what kind of scent that you fancy? That way, I can specially concoct one for you so that you can bring back home for your own use. Brooklyn glanced at Diana emotionlessly and laughed faintly, "The scent on your body is just the right one. Are you able to create one with this scent?"

Diana was a little speechless.

Did Brooklyn really think that she was a foolish little kid? Mirabelle's job request last time must be the reason she could be Brooklyn's fiancée now.

Although she didn't know how the bottles of perfumes left behind by Harley back then could ease Brooklyn's insomnia, but to concoct a perfume with the same effects was an easy feat for Diana.

"Mr. Powell, I know that I smell good too, but it's not easy to create a perfume with the exact same smell. If you really love this smell, why not just marry me? With me by your side, you can rest whenever you want. Killing two birds with one stone?"

Brooklyn jerked up his eyelids as he glanced at this woman jokingly making that remark.

For someone who always brought up marriage so casually, how could he trust her words?

Brooklyn's lips fluttered slightly as he spouted a few cold and harsh words.

"In your dreams."

Diana, "..."

Okay, he won this time. What harsh words?

The LIK mall was a famous megastore in Sliwell.

This was a gathering place for luxury shops and shops selling custom-made high-class brands.

A perfumer was a career that lied in the heart of the fashion industry.

Besides a need for skilful perfuming services, one had to have a sharp sense of smell all the time.

The LIK mall was located in an area with wealthy families living in the community, and it was only an hour's drive away from Diana's high-class condominium.

Whenever she had leisure time, she would come to take a stroll here, but it was a different sight to come here with one of the financial backers of this mall. Diana's lips were curled up as he watched the owners, managers and employees of the mall pouring out to welcome Brooklyn.

She took a few steps back to wait for those meaningless exchanges between them to end.

"Mr. Powell, it's rare that you will personally come here. Is there something you want to enlighten us about?" The owner of the mall asked flatteringly.

Brooklyn looked at Diana who had retreated and curled up his lips, "I am helping my partner to choose a gown."

The owner only noticed Diana who was standing behind Brooklyn now, and he had a shocked expression on his face.

This was strange! Ever since Ms. Moss had declared that she was Mr. Powell's fiancée, it was very rare for him to bring any other woman as his partner even for business settings.

He would sometimes call the mall to inform them about female artists visiting and that the bill would be covered by him.

This was the first time that he was bringing a woman to the mall to choose a gown so publicly!

There was searching gaze being cast on Diana by the owner of the mall.

She had a small face which was covered partially by a pair of sunglasses. He couldn't make out her face.

Her chin was chiselled, a very typical oval, small face.

Her figure was good as she was sporting a pair of long legs.

Her legs were really capturing his attention. While she only wore a pair of short jeans, her legs protruding from the bottom of the jeans were practically glowing.

From the moment she stepped into the mall, countless visitors were throwing glances in her direction.

One had to be reminded that this was the LIK mall! There were countless stars and artists frequenting the mall but to be able to garner this much attention, it was not only because this woman here was Mr. Powell's female partner. Her aura had far eclipsed those of artists and stars.

The owner of the mall immediately put on a flattering expression, "Mr. Powell, you have nothing to worry about."

After saying that, he ordered his employees, "Quickly summon the best salesperson in the mall here! She has to be the best!"

A few minutes later, a salesperson who only catered to gold card user in the mall rushed forth, and after bowing slightly in front of Brooklyn, she came to Diana's side and asked, "Ms. Moss, may I know what type of evening gown are you looking for?"

Diana took off her sunglasses and hung it in front of her chest.

A gentle and innocent face appeared in front of everyone, which was a contrast to her figures.

"You have to ask Mr. Powell about that. I am her partner tomorrow, so what I am going to wear must pair well with his suit. Why not you ask Mr. Powell what he is going to wear tomorrow?"

The salesperson stammered, "This..." She didn't have the nerve to ask about Mr. Powell's clothing arrangement tomorrow.

Brooklyn glanced at Diana slightly and his voice was thin, "Get her a black one."

Diana's skin was porcelain white.

If a black gown was put on her, her pale skin's visual impact would be even more staggering.

Although she didn't put on any makeup, but after changing into the black gown, and with her high heels worn by her feet, she was exuding an impressive aura.

The custom-made black gown was figure-hugging, which brought out all the good features on her body.

Brooklyn raised his brows and allowed his eyes to fall on this woman who was fidgeting around with a hand on her waist.

There was a hint of astonishment in his depthless eyes.

He had to admit that although this woman in front of him was very arrogant, but she had the right to act so.

Black and white fused perfectly on her.

Her bare face which had no makeup wasn't eclipsed by the delicately made black gown.

There was a seductive charm playing around her lips as she asked, "Mr. Powell, what do you think about this one?"¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶☐☐☐☐
