My Bossy CEO Husband
Chapter 2618

Dilan remained silent as Brian helped Rosalynn to her feet.

After she was steady on her feet, Brian’s voice broke the silence.

“We’ll leave now.

Call me if you need anything.”

Rosalynn sighed slightly and exited with Brian.

Dilan slumped onto the sofa, his face clouded with distress.

His hands trembled slightly as he picked up the photo album from the coffee table.

With a gentle touch, he caressed the photos, his tears cascading silently.

His tears blurred the cherished images as Dilan fought the bitterness swelling in his throat, hastily wiping the tears away with a rugged hand.

At that moment, the door to a bedroom creaked open, and a frail figure emerged—a girl of about seventeen.

It was Dilan’s sister, Rainie Wagner.

Clad in pajamas with eyes red from crying, she asked in a hoarse voice, “Dilan, who was here?”

Closing the album with a soft thud, Dilan composed himself.

“Two of Jamir’s friends came to check on us,” he explained.

Rainie’s eyes brimmed with tears as she gazed at him.

“Dilan, did I cause Jamir’s death? I know he took those high-risk jobs to pay for my treatment.

I’m just a burden!”

Dilan choked up, the weight of his emotions nearly crushing him.

“No! Jamir did everything out of love, willingly.”

Their parents had passed away early, leaving Jamir to raise them both.

To them, Jamir was more than a brother; he was a father figure.

To Jamir, they were not just siblings; they were his children.

He had always been prepared to undertake any laborious and exhausting task if it meant securing a better future for them.

However, hard work often yielded little financial comfort.

Fate, as cruel as ever, seemed to relish in toying with those less fortunate.

Their life, already marred by hardship, plunged into despair when Rainie fell seriously ill.

In desperation, they drained their meager savings and borrowed from every willing soul, but it was far from enough compared to the mounting medical bills.

That was why Jamir had taken a perilous path for money.

“Dilan, I miss Jamir.”

Rainie collapsed into Dilan’s arms, her sobs echoing the anguish and despair within her.

Gently, Dilan stroked her back, tears streaming down his own cheeks as he shared in her grief.
