I pinched my nose shut in disgust and watched him fall onto the sofa. Only then, did I see the scars on his face and that the corner of his lips was swollen. Did he get beaten up outside?

However, I didn't ask about it, knowing that this self-righteous guy would probably think that I was asking because I was concerned about him.

He leaned back on the sofa and relaxed. He opened his heavy eyelids and glanced at me, then loosened the tie around his neck.

After taking it off, he threw it aside and put both his hands on his knees. Then he covered his face and rubbed his hands up and down to ease the discomfort caused by the alcohol. Finally, he kept his mouth and nose covered, only revealing his eyes, and said slowly, "You don't even care one bit about why I am like this, do you?"

Why should I care?

I didn't say anything but just looked at him with curious eyes.

Unlike his usual gentleman-like demeanor, Jordan looked extremely distressed and careless. This was probably the first time I'd seen him this way.

"I laid my cards out with Stanley." After abruptly throwing out this statement, he spread out his arms and lay back against the sofa. With tipsy misty eyes, he looked at me and waited for my response.

I was indeed surprised by his words. I raised my eyebrows and looked at him. I'd never expected him to do something like this.

"And?" The bruises on his face and the fact that he came back alive had already proven everything. However, I just wanted to know how he was beaten by Stanley.

Jordan laughed at himself and looked forward with a blank expression like he was speaking of somebody else. "I was rejected, of course."

"And I was also given a hard beating that nearly broke my bones."

"That's right. Since they aren't broken yet, it seems like Stanley still cares. He didn't immediately kill you," I intentionally provoked him.

Jordan shook his head. "He gave me two choices. I'll either die with you or I'll continue to be his pet, and he will never touch you again."

"So, coming back with a body full of wounds is your way of telling mez that you not only went and angered Stanley for me but even chose to be his pet so he wouldn't hurt me?" I straightforwardly summarized.

Seeing Jordan's attitude in front of Stanley before, it seemed like that group of his was rather strict.

However, to protect us, he couldn et

only continue to blindly follow. Stanley. Wherever he went, he would have to follow through.

Jordan didn't deny it but changed the topic and smiled uncomfortably. "If I stay with Stanley, you will

continue to hate me. If I don't, we I will all die. It doesn't seem all too bad to go with the original state. At

least I get to have you by my side."

"Why don't you just say that you are afraid of death?" I sarcastically threw out a remark, not even trying to hide my despicable side.

"Say whatever you want. I won't care about it anymore. As you said, I will be tired of you sooner or later. Hence, before that day comes, all we have to do is just put up with each other."

Perhaps it was the strong alcohol, Jordan's voice became smaller and softer. He leaned against the sofa and slowly closed his eyes.

Looking at his chest and mouth rising and falling regularly, I suddenly felt the urge to just end his life there and then.

As long as Jordan was dead, there wouldn't be anyone else that would hold onto Hendrix anymore.

But soon, I realized that it was not feasible. Whether it was Rosalie or Stanley, Jordan was special to them. They wouldn't just sit back and watch him die.

If we were to be completely at peace, we had to catch them all.

Just as I was immersed in my thoughts, Jordan's voice rang out, "Do you want to kill me again?"

"Yes, indeed. I can't help but long for you to beg for your life as I peel off your skin."

"That's good. I'd rather you loathe me than have you ignore my existence."
