After we got into the car, Irvin started the engine. I gave him a sidelong glance and asked, "Did you take the baby's picture?"

I was calm when I spoke, but he was visibly stiffened up. He looked at me and asked tentatively, "Didn't you say you won't see it?"

I stared out of the car window. The pain I felt in my chest was so painful that I found it hard to breathe. After some time, I replied, "Yes, I won't look at it. Send it to Aaron and tell him to keep a low profile when he sends it to Andrea. It's best to send it at midnight."

Irvin nodded. After the car hit the road for a while, he changed the topic and asked, "So, have you figured out what to do with the Al project?"

I nodded, "Aaron is good in IT. I've asked him for help. Also, there's a technology company in Ucrebury, and its researchers are very talented although the company's management isn't that good. I was going to ask you to make time to visit it and maybe even purchase it."

He quirked his eyebrows, "There's such a company?"

"Yes."

"Well, it seems that you don't have to gamble on Advancer Tech," He teased while smiling gently.

I turned back to look at him and said, "If I fail and lose Advancer Tech, I'll simply stick around you and make you pay for my expenses."

He laughed, "No problem!"

It was already past midnight when I got home. Fortunately for him, there were many rooms in the apartment. So, Irvin simply found a room to rest while I returned to my bedroom. As expected, I didn't sleep all night because I had a lot to think of.

Helen would be celebrating her fifty-sixth birthday on November 4.

The Miller family was a renowned family full of scholars in Jarold City. Since Helen's divorce from Yohannes, she had been staying with the Miller family. There weren't many people in the Miller family. Other than Helen and her parents who were both nearly a hundred years old, she had two elder brothers.

One of her brothers was a politician, while the other one participated in business activities. Both Helen's brothers each had a son, and they successfully expanded their careers and families abroad. So, they rarely returned to their hometown.

Since Helen was the youngest in the family, naturally, she was spoiled. Irvin was also aware of her temper, and he would occasionally nag her on it. However, as time passed by, he gradually gave up. So, when Irvin told me that he was going to take me to the birthday party, I refused him. After all, for the limited times I interacted with Helen, they didn't end well.

Irvin smiled, "Although the Miller family is a family of intellectuals, my grandparents have invited quite many big shots in the business world and political circles to her birthday party this year. The Moore family is also coming. This will be your opportunity to do something to the Moore family."

At first, I was dumbfounded. After a while, I realized that if I wanted to take down the Moore family and turn the tables, I would have to climb up the ladder to their same level, if not a higher level. Otherwise, nothing I did would harm the Moore family even a bit.

So, I looked at Irvin, nodding, I said, "Fine, I'll go."

The structure of society seemed to be simple, consisting of all humans who lived on the same land together. However, no one was the same.

People were divided into different classes. Just like a pyramid, some people couldn't climb a step up from the base of the pyramid even after several lifetimes.

The poor might get into a relatively richer lifestyle through academic performance. However, if they wanted to climb to a higher level, they had to rely on their talents and wisdom.

Yet, once one reached a certain height in the social pyramid, it was basically impossible for them to continue climbing upwards with only their wisdom and talent. They would need connections and family lines to enter the inner circle. If they wanted to gain a strong foothold at the top of the pyramid, they would need to rely on their charisma to gain admiration and respect.

The reason the Moore family had been refusing to accept Valerie for so many years might have been because she wasn't born and raised in a good family, and she wouldn't be smart enough to do her job as Mrs. Moore.
