Irvin set a time with me and said, "Six o'clock tonight. I'll pick you up an hour earlier and take you to try on some dresses and makeup."

I nodded. Even if I put on makeup and picked my own clothes, it probably wouldn't be presentable. Therefore, I naturally let him worry about it.

It was still early when I got home, and I was bored, so I called Monique.

It was a pity that her phone was turned off. She had been here for three months. If she had stayed here for confinement, she would have been done. Why was her phone always turned off?

I had no choice but to call lan. The phone rang for a long while before it was answered. He sounded to be a little busy. "Arianna, I'm watching the baby right now. What about you? What are you doing?" I was surprised. It must be tough for a man to take care of a newborn baby.

"Are you still with Monique in the countryside?" I asked, leaning back on the sofa and looking a little lazy.

He did not speak. After a while, he said, "Yes, what about you? How have you been? Are you all right?"

I nodded, "Yeah I'm good, I will go back to Ucrebury at the end of the year. Will you come to celebrate the New Year? Or will you stay in the countryside?"

"I'm not sure yet!" He seemed to be busy, so I couldn't help but to ask, "Where's Monique? Is her cell phone broken? Why hasn't she been answering the phone? I've called her a few times these past few days but none of them have gotten through."

"Yeah! She's quite busy. I've got to be heading off now. Let's keep in touch." With that, he hung up the phone.

I paused and didn't say anything else.

Irvin parked the car at the entrance of the hotel. He got out and elegantly walked to the passenger seat of the car. He opened the car door for me and held my hand to help me out of the car.

The hem of the royal blue gown was too long. I got off the car and looked at him. "To be honest, this is the first time I'm wearing a gown with such a long hem. I'm afraid that I will fall later."

He smiled, "Then you should follow me closely later so you don't fall."

Apart from this, I didn't know of any other better way to deal with this.

I shrugged towards him, and we entered the hotel together. At the entrance of the magnificent hotel stood a person welcoming distinguished guests.

It was Helen.

Having not seen each other for a long time, she seemed to look older than before. She was wearing a burgundy red dress with a black coat over her shoulders, looking graceful and beautiful. Helen held Irvin's hand. "Irvin, you're finally here. The guests have arrived, and your grandparents are all here. Please go in and greet them, and then come out to welcome the guests later."
