"Hmph!" lan rolled his eyes. "There is nothing wrong in declaring your love, don't wait until it is too late."

"You seem free. I suggest you take Anne out for a walk." Aaron glared at lan.

lan was aware that Aaron might be upset so he took Anne to the courtyard to play with her.

I asked Aaron after a moment of silence. "What did Uncle Charles replace out?"

He pursed his lips and his face became serious. "The test result indicated that man may not have done it with you."

I frowned. "He didn't? Then why..." Why did he deliberately throw the thing in the room?

"We made a comparison and your DNA is not found in the specimen. The police speculated two possibilities. One is that the mystery person's identity is highly confidential so it is difficult to obtain his DNA information. Two, the mystery person is a dead person with no DNA for comparison."

I frowned. "How could you extract a dead person's DNA?"

"It can be pulled out scientifically within a specific period of time," Aaron explained.

He leaned against the sofa and pinched the muscle between his eyebrows. "My best guess would be the first possibility. There are only a few people above Uncle Charles's ranking and they did not have any dispute with the Roberts. Uncle Charles is still investigating."

I looked at Aaron after a moment of silence. "Looks like there was someone who wanted to affect our relationship. He may not have any feelings for me."

I hesitated but continued, "Someone used the same method before. He kidnapped me and made me listen to a disgusting play. The motive seems similar this time."

He frowned and asked, "Do you know who he was?"

I shook my head, "I'm not sure. I need to check." Then, I hesitated for a moment, "The plan to Hovell might be postponed as Hendrix might come with us."

He pursed his lips and looked displeased. "Is Hendrix your shadow? He follows wherever you go?"

"Why can't I follow my own wife? Aren't you afraid of becoming a laughing stock while pestering your own sister?" Hendrix said as he came down the stairs with Uncle Charles. lan, who was playing with Anne in the courtyard, had also entered the villa. He looked at me and said, "You have a lot of guests today."

Hendrix raised his eyebrows and asked. "Who's here?"

Before lan could say anything, Valerie and Pedro entered the villa. Pedro was carrying a lot of things in his hand.

"Looks like everyone is here. Have you had lunch yet? I brought some pastries, let's try them later." Valerie smiled gently as she put the pastries on the table.

She took out one of the pastries, looked at me and offered, "Arianna, try this. Mr. Roberts said that you like matcha flavor."

I was a little confused before taking the pastry from her. It was delicious.

I've always felt strange with their attentiveness but I can't tell if there's anything wrong with it.

So I did not say anything further.

Valerie volunteered to cook for everyone. "I called the midwife and found out that she is not working today. I guess the two of you will just eat simple food. You should not do that to your body." She took out the vegetables and meats from the refrigerator as she talked. She then put on an apron and began to cook.

Hendrix and Charles did not react much. Aaron lowered his head to play with his phone as though it was not strange that Valerie is cooking in the villa, let alone Pedro.

Only lan and I felt weird about it. He looked at me and said in a low voice, "I thought you and Valerie were enemies? Why is she treating you like her own daughter now?"
