My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 553
I nodded and said with a smile, "Well then, both of you go ahead. I'll take my leave first."
It turned out that the reason why Freya spent so much effort to ask me out was because she wanted me to accompany her to wait for her sweetheart.
When I left the restaurant, the sky in Ucrebury was a little dark. It seemed as if it was going to rain.
Hendrix had been on a business trip for two days. All of a sudden, I began to miss him. I took out my phone and decided to call him.
The phone rang several times before it went through. "Arianna, have you eaten?" Hendrix's voice sounded a little low on the other end, as if he had been sleeping.
Considering the time difference, it must be dawn in Mesville. When I realized this, I spoke apologetically to the receiver, "Did I disturb you?"
"No!" He said in a low and magnetic voice, "I just dreamt of you and I miss you."
I stood at the door of the restaurant, feeling the wind blow against my face. I felt a faint warmth in my heart swelling up the more I heard his voice.
"I miss you too!" That was right, I had to tell him that I longed for and loved him as well.
Hendrix sounded taken aback for a bit. "Wait for me. I'll come back as soon as I'm done."
"Okay, I will.!"
Realizing that he had to work tomorrow, I said, "Rest well, I'll hang up first."
Without waiting for him to speak, I hung up the phone. My heart was suddenly beating faster. For some reason, I clicked on the plane ticket website and ordered myself a ticket to Mesville. Over the next ten hours, I drove straight to the airport.
While on my way there, I sent a message to Minnie telling her that I won't be home tonight.
As I needed to turn off my phone in the plane, I texted regularly to Hendrix and told him that I had something to do. When I arrived at the airport, I got on the plane and flew directly for Mesville. Flights to foreign countries took a while, and I slept on the plane in a daze. There were still a few hours left to go when I woke up, so I took out the book I bought at the airport and started reading it. During the layover in Sydalane, I had a bathroom break and had something to eat at Sydalane Airport.
When I had to board the plane again, I almost forgot my book. Fortunately, I had enough time, so I ran back to get to where I left it to retrieve it.
"Ouch!" Because I walked in a hurry, I knocked into a girl in high heels when I entered the passageway.
The girl was holding a coke in her hand while her beach hat fell to the ground upon impact, revealing her blonde hair.
"My clothes!" The coke had spilt all over the girl's clothes. She was so anxious that she instantly shouted.
I quickly took some tissue out to help her wipe her clothes. I apologized and picked up everything that had fallen to the floor.
After I calmed myself down, I could finally see the girl's features clearly. She had a pair of deep, blue eyes. She had beautiful features and fair skin as white as snow.
She was so gorgeous that even girls would want to take a few more glances at her.
"Luckily, it was just coke and the color of my clothes is dark. Otherwise, it would've left a stain. Girl, you got lucky!" She spoke in English.
I felt so sorry for the mishap. I apologized hastily and handed her the hat that I picked up. Then, I apologized a few more times.
She peered at me and shrugged her shoulders. She put on her hat and muttered, "Mr. Granger is probably waiting for me now."
After that, she went up along the boarding gate.
I went back to the restaurant and took my book before boarding the plane again. As soon as I sat down, I saw the same blonde girl on the other side of the aisle.
She had taken off her hat and put on her sunglasses. She also held a book in her hands. I took a look at the book and discovered that it was the same book as mine - a book titled "No One Survived".
