Our Journey Back To Love -
Chapter 101
Chapter 70
“No,” she muttered. “If it weren’t for the dress, I wouldn’t have bothered with Jessica’s birthday party.”
Brian looked up at her after she dropped the information. “So you didn’t go with Yoel?”
“I already told you, no, I went without an invitation and ran into Yoel. He let me in.”
Brian didn’t answer, but his movements became noticeably gentler as he applied the ointment. It was a tenderness he wasn’t even aware of. “He’s not the man for you,” he remarked.
“He’s not bad,” Stella said. She was tired of Brian bad–mouthing Yoel. “Take tonight, for example. He stood by me, questioned Carrie right away, and believed me completely after he walked into the room.”
“That’s because he’s hitting on you!” Brian’s touch became rough again.
Stella winced in pain and furrowed her brow.
Brian checked her wound. His expression softened when he saw that it wasn’t serious. “Nobody’s nice
without a reason.”
You just don’t like him,” she countered.
“Isn’t it normal to dislike someone like that?” Brian shorted. “He has the face of a scoundrel. He knows you’re married and he still made a move on you. If that’s not shitty, what is?”
Stella was speechless.
She realized how venomous Brian’s words could be. Suddenly, he grabbed her arm and warned her in at low voice, “You’re not allowed to see him again.”
“Who are you to tell me that?”
Brian’s eyes were intense as he spoke in a deep voice, if you want to be deceived by him, go ahead.”
“He’s not the scumbag you make him out to be.”
Brian’s grip on her hand tightened. “Only stupid women like you would believe him.”
“Why do you always look down on me?” Her hand ached from his grip and tears streamed down her face.
She continued, “It’s always like this. My dad may have wronged you, but I’m your wife. I’ve been devoted I’m beneath you,
to you for two years, and I’ve never once hurt you with my words. But you treat me as it
and–you always make fun of me. Am I really that terrible?”
She couldn’t hold back her frustration and sadness any longer.
He had never said a kind word to her in their two years of marriage. He treated her like his mortal enemy.
“I just think you’re naive and easily deceived,” Brian said, his voice softening when he saw her crying.
“Even if I am, what does that have to do with you? I want to be deceived. There, happy now?” With that, she angrily got up from the bed.
As soon as her feet touched the ground, the pain made her tremble.
The blisters on her feet were unbearable.
Brian hesitated for a moment, then instinctively picked her up and put her back on the bed.
Stella sobbed.
Brian looked at her and felt an unexpected heaviness in his heart. He reached out and pulled her into his
arms.
Stella resisted, struggling to free herself.
But he held her tight. He didn’t let her move.
In her frustration, Stella wiped her tears on his shirt and bit his chest.
Her sharp teeth sliced through the fabric, leaving a mark on his skin.
Brian grunted in pain but didn’t push her away.
Stella was stunned. She wondered if he was mad. He didn’t push her away even after she bit him so hard.
She looked up at him with teary eyes. He pressed his lips together and had a dark expression on his face. I won’t let you, even if you want to be deceived,” he said.
Stella was taken aback.
He continued, “You’re my wife. I won’t let anyone hurt you.
