Chapter 118

Brian had a penchant for showering Stella with pink items.

“Alright, go fetch the bracelet. Il swing by to pick her up after work,” Brian instructed before drawing his focus back to his tasks.

As the workday drew to a close, Mike retrieved the jewelry.

Brian gave it a once–over, nodding in satisfaction. He closed the jewelry box, buttoned his suit, and briskly exited the office.

Behind the wheel, Mike headed toward Starlight Couture.

To his dismay, Stella was nowhere to be found at the studio.

Mike glanced at the time. “That’s strange. It’s only 6:00 pm. Ms. Yates should still be around.”

Starlight Couture closed at 6:30 pm.

The assistant mentioned, “Ms. Yates stepped out after taking a phone call.”

Mike relayed this to Brian.

Brian’s expression turned cold as he pulled out his phone and dialed Stella’s number.

Stella was having dinner with Chris at a restaurant when she received Brian’s call.

Remembering Yelena’s words, she responded to Brian with a hint of coldness, “What is it?”

“Where are you?” Brian asked.

“What’s the matter?” Stella left the private room and stood in the corridor to take the call.

Brian couldn’t muster the sentimentality of saying he was coming to pick her up. Instead, he simply

replied, “Just checking.

“I’m having dinner with my uncle,” Stella replied curtly, opting not to divulge further details.

“Why?” Brian pressed.

“My dad’s creditor wants to meet me,” Stella explained Her own curiosity had also driven her to verify the validity of the debt.

Upon hearing this, Brian furrowed his brows. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Why should I tell you?” Stella retorted.

Brian fell silent.

Stella’s tone was cool and collected as she spoke into the phone, “Mr. Foley, we’re divorced now. My affairs are no longer your concern. I’ll manage on my own from here on out. Goodbye.”

With that, she ended the call and returned to the private room.

The creditor from her father’s company had arrived. It was a man in his forties with

appearance,

“Stella, this is Mr. Hark,” Chris introduced.

“Hello, Mr. Hark, Stella greeted, rising to shake Terence’s hand.

a polished

Terence’s gaze lingered on Stella’s face. A satisfied nod accompanied his assessment.

“Stella, hurry up and pour Mr. Hark a drink,” Chris urged

“Sure.” Stella grabbed a bottle from the table and poured Terence a glass, offering it to him with a polite. smile. “Mr. Hark, this one’s for you.”

Terence chuckled and downed the drink, prompting Stella to follow suit, finishing hers in one swift motion.

Chris, noting Stella’s compliance, flashed a cunning look before excusing himself to the restroom and

leaving the private room.

Stella forced a smile. “Mr. Hark, I wanted to ask you about the debt between our company and yours.”

Terence glanced at her. Loosening a button on his sleeve as he extended his hand, he seemingly attempted to place it on her shoulder.

Stella stiffened and pushed him away. “Mr. Hark, what are you doing?”

Terence, his expression shifting slightly, frowned. “Don’t you know why you’re here today? Come here and, kneel down at my feet to serve me.”

He attempted to force her head down to his waist.

Stella was startled. “Mr. Hark, I’m just here to discuss business with you.

“Don’t play dumb. I don’t like games. Serve me tonight, and your uncle’s debt to me will be settled,”

Terence said.

“What debt?” Stella asked.

“He owes me gambling debts.”
