Our Journey Back To Love -
Chapter 119
Chapter 119
Stella’s world shattered as she discovered the truth–the 300 thousand dollar debt wasn’t the company’s burden, but Chris’s gambling folly.
Her gaze turned cold as she squared up to Terence. “Mr. Hark.” She declared, her voice steely. “That debt belongs to my uncle. It’s his mess, not mine. If you want someone to pay up, go after him.”
She rose to leave, only to replace her legs giving out beneath her.
Terence’s laugh echoed through the room. “Feeling a bit powerless, huh?”
Stella’s face contorted. “Did you drug me?*
The sensation hit her like a ton of bricks. It was unmistakably the effects of being drugged.
“I prefer my ladies to be a bit woozy. Makes things more fun,” Terence quipped with a predatory grin.
Stella’s scalp prickled with fear. She tried to run, but Terence grabbed her and pulled her into his arms.
With a lewd grin, he unclipped the belt from his waist.
Repulsed to the core, Stella seized a bottle from the table and brought it crashing down on his skull.
Terence dropped like a sack of potatoes, not even a groan escaping his lips.
Clutching onto her last bit of sanity, Stella dialed 911.
When the police arrived, she was a trembling mess in the corner.
Meanwhile, Terence lay sprawled amidst shattered glass and spilled liquor. With the wound on his head oozing blood, a metallic scent was thick in the air.”
As the clock struck 11:00 pm, Stella was still nowhere to be seen, leaving Brian stewing in the yard. His patience was wearing thin by the second.
Growing more agitated, he punched in her number, only to be met with the deafening silence of voicemail.
Frowning, Brian reached out to Mike. “Mike, replace out where Mrs. Foley is.”
A few minutes later, Mike called back and reported, “M Foley, Mrs. Foley’s over at the police station.”
Brian’s jaw clenched. “What happened?”
As Mike rushed over, he briefed Brian on the situation. Mr. Hark is unconscious and hospitalized. Hist family is adamant about pressing charges against Mrs. Foley, and it’s getting heated at the station.”
At the police station, Stella sat in silence, her head bowed as the drug’s effects faded away.
Terence’s mother, Melanie Harper, pointed an accusing finger at her, spewing venom. “She’s just a damn
whore! How dare she lay a hand on my boy? Officer, throw this slut in handcuffs now!”
“The investigation will resume once Mr. Hark wakes up, the officer assured Melanie.
But Melanie wasn’t having it. “You little tramp, you knocked my son out cold! If anything happens to him, Ill have your family’s heads on a platter!”
Stella ignored her.
She had already given her statement, leaving Terence’s situation pending until he regained
consciousness. In the meantime, Melanie had free rein to vent her frustrations.
In a swift move, Melanie lunged forward, hitting Stella hard with her bag.
Stella, still reeling from the effects of the drug, absorbed the blow.
She seized Melanie’s bag and said firmly, “Your son drugged me and tried to rape me. I was defending myself.”

“Now that my son is in a coma, you can say whatever you want. But when he wakes up, we’ll see how try to weasel out of this! I’ll make sure you rot in jail!” Melanie shrieked, struggling against two officers to get at Stella
“Go ahead, hit her. It’ll cost you a billion dollars per hit. Try me,” a voice, heavy with anger, boomed from the entrance.
Stella glanced over, her head spinning.
She froze.
It was Brian, dressed in a somber black suit, his nearly six–foot–three frame radiating authority.
Stella couldn’t help but wonder how he even knew she was here.
Her heart pounded with a mix of emotions.
The room fell silent.
Even Melanie was silenced by the sheer force of his presence.
Standing next to Brian was Chief Holland, who stepped forward, addressing the room, “Mr. Foley obtained the hotel’s surveillance footage. Case closed.
“Terence was indeed behind the drugging. He handed off the drug to a waiter before entering the room. We’ve got both eyewitnesses and physical evidence.”
With the case suddenly cracked wide open, Melanie’s eyes widened like saucers. She couldn’t utter a
