With the setting sun beaming down on Mike’s smiling face and casting him in a warm glow, he looked like a handsome man coming straight out of an oil painting. Ashley glanced at her brother, who was making a funny gesture at her, smiled at him and got in the car.

Mike and Ashley made their way to an exclusive restaurant owned by Guzman Group. It was a trendy restaurant in Ariosa, known for its world-class service and ambiance. People from all over the city flocked to the restaurant, eager for the unique experience it offered. The restaurant had a warm and cozy atmosphere, which made it a sought-after restaurant in the city.

As soon as they entered the restaurant, they approached the manager, who led them to an elevator, bringing them to the third floor’s family area. The third floor was decorated to feel warm and homey. It was made up of several rooms of different sizes with glass partitions; you could see people from the other rooms but couldn’t hear them. Guests could feel the warmth of a family dining together.

Ashley and Mike entered their exclusive room stationed by the window. This room was explicitly designed by Mike and housed all the materials they needed, which made it convenient for their family to dine there.

“Ashley, Zaiden will be here soon. Should we pick him up at the airport?” Mike asked with a smile after placing his order.

Zaiden Bennett was Mike’s closest friend. They spent their college years by each other’s side. Mike knew that Zaiden was a perfect gentleman to his sister and that he had liked her for some time now. Back then, Ashley was still too young and focused on her studies, so Zaiden never had a chance to explore his feelings for her. When Zaiden was in his senior year of college, his family migrated to the United States, where he studied law. This was the first time Zaiden would be back in six years.

After years abroad, Zaiden had made himself known as a competent lawyer both at home and overseas. By this time, Ashley had been working for two years already. In the past, Ashley had always made her way in Mike and Zaiden’s conversations. He would often check up on her and ask how she was doing. Mike knew that his friend still harbored feelings for his sister. This time around, Zaiden was coming back not only to set up his law firm but to profess his love for Ashley.

Mike placed his absolute trust in his friend. Out of all the men who had courted his sister, Zaiden was the only one he liked. Not only was he handsome and competent, but he also treated her the way she deserved to be treated. Mike thought highly of him and was determined to remove all obstacles standing in his way to Ashley. The problem was, his sister was blind to matters of love. It seemed like his friend had his work cut out for him if he wanted to pursue her. However, it would be inappropriate for him to meddle, and he trusted that they would somehow replace their way to each other on their own.

Mike mentioned Zaiden, and Ashley recalled him. He was a handsome man, albeit a bit cold. Ever since she met him, she knew him as a serious person, but he always made her feel warm and cared for. Zaiden was like family to her. After Zaiden had gone abroad, she had kept in touch with him. Now that he was returning as a successful man, Ashley was sincerely happy for him and all that he had achieved.

“Of course. Let me know what time, and I can pick him up at the airport,” Ashley quickly replied.

Mike simply smiled at her and didn’t say another word. If he were to be honest with himself, he was curious to see how his sister would change if she became his friend’s girlfriend. People always said that women in love become more beautiful. When the time came, Ashley would be the most beautiful woman. It was something worth looking forward to.

As they continued to chat amongst themselves in their room, the atmosphere was comfortable and calm. However, the two failed to notice that someone was peering at them. Joseph was seated in the room next to them. When he looked up, he saw the woman who continued to haunt his mind. Ashley was here. Joseph looked to see Ashley chatting merrily with a man and flashing him a smile from time to time, which grated on his nerves.

He scrutinized them for far too long. He couldn’t wrap his mind around the thought that they undeniably looked good together as they talked.

Taking notice that Joseph was distracted, Leonard followed his line of sight and found that he was staring at a woman. Leonard was immediately drawn by her beauty and couldn’t help peeking through the glass a few more times after that. The woman’s skin had no imperfections, and she was stunning. She looked even more beautiful as she talked and smiled at the man opposite her.

Leonard’s immediate impression of Ashley was that she was a gorgeous woman and seemed to have an agreeable temperament. He tore his eyes away from the woman and looked at Joseph’s gloomy face. A thought formed in his mind: they were a perfect match! It seemed like his future granddaughter-in-law finally appeared. This woman even seemed like she came from a prominent family. Leonard nodded to himself with a small smile.
