It wasn’t until Yasmin sat down so gracefully next to him that Zachary came back to his senses. The two were sitting next to each other, as arranged by Zachary’s mother, Juliet. The reason was quite obvious. Noticing that Zachary had been lost in thought for a while, the smile on Juliet’s face became even brighter. ‘Good, the two of them look perfect together.’ Thinking of this, she gently nudged her husband with her arm.

“Now that everyone’s here, let’s have dinner. Please help yourself.” After receiving a hint from his wife, Callum said this with a smile.

Zara quickly answered, “Mr. Estrada, we’re going to be a family from now on. There’s no need for us to be so formal with each other.”

Yasmin, who was quietly sitting aside, was left at such a loss for words as she listened to such an intimate conversation between her and Zachary’s parents. ‘Why do I feel like these people aren’t meeting for the first time and are just having a typical family dinner instead? It looks like this marriage has been decided without asking for my opinion…’ Although Yasmin had some issues with what was happening, she didn’t let it show on her face. She and Zachary were working together. It was good that their parents were so into it. At the very least, they wouldn’t have to go on those tiresome blind dates anymore in the future.

Following her mother’s instructions, Yasmin politely said to the elders, “Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Estrada.” Yasmin was as cheerful and lively as her mother. However, she grew up in a family of high-ranking officials and had been educated to be elegant and dignified from a very young age, so it was quite easy for her to be polite as her mother asked. That being said, she couldn’t help feeling a little uncomfortable deep inside, since it was easier to just be herself.

Zachary was somewhat surprised when he saw Yasmin acting this way. ‘It turns out that this girl is actually a two-faced woman. But, since my parents have taken a liking to her, we’re going to have a promising future.’

The two families got to know a little more about each other at the dinner table, and from time to time, the parents would ask the young couple how they got along with each other. There was such a pleasant atmosphere in the room. During this period, both Zachary and Yasmin behaved gracefully and politely, and they also seemed to be so affectionate with each other, which made their parents, who had been looking forward to this moment for so long, very happy.

After dinner, the parents came up with an excuse to go out, saying that they were going to have a get-together so that Zachary and Yasmin could have some time for themselves. Moreover, they asked their children to enjoy their ‘alone time’.

In the end, the two people who had been unfairly left behind had no choice but to spend their so-called ‘alone time’. It was already seven o’clock in the evening when they came out of the restaurant. Zachary had everything carefully planned out for this date. According to what couples usually do on a date, he took Yasmin to see a movie. Yasmin was the one who chose which one they were going to watch. It was a horror movie that had become a box office hit recently.

At this point, Zachary had already gotten used to Yasmin’s tendency of ruining the ‘date’ atmosphere. Even though she was dressed like a fine lady, she was still the same careless girl. In the cinema, Yasmin was casually eating the snacks in her hands while watching the horrible scene with great enjoyment. This helped Zachary get a deeper understanding of her.

Since Yasmin seemed to be so engrossed in the film, Zachary had no choice but to switch between watching her and watching the movie from time to time. He thought to himself, ‘I honestly thought that Yasmin chose the horror film because she came here with someone. I thought for sure she would cling to me in fear during scary scenes and then we can have some intimate contact.’

Unfortunately, reality was a little too cruel. Looking at Yasmin, Zachary felt as if she was just watching a comedy. This seriously left him speechless.

In Ariosa, after having dinner and buying clothes with her elder brother Mike on Friday, Ashley stayed at home the next whole day. She felt bored, so she decided to go to the Guzman Group with Mike.

In the CEO’s office of the Guzman Group, Mike lowered his head to review the documents. Sitting on a chair not far away, Ashley looked at the company’s financial, operational, and other internal documents. Her brothers asked her to read these things. Although Ashley was training in a different company and Mike had already taken over the Guzman Group, he thought that it was more than enough for his sister to become a senior executive in the Guzman Group given her talent. For this reason, he wanted her to be familiarized with his company’s business as soon as possible.

The siblings spent most of their time in the office. They went to a restaurant nearby during lunchtime. In the afternoon, Mike had to leave for a while to take care of some business, so he asked Ashley to go home first.

After leaving the Guzman Group, Ashley stopped by the food market before heading home. There was a rule in the Guzman family, the servants in the family had the day off on Sundays, and in turn, the two of them had to take shifts every Sunday. Although this unwritten rule was a bit unthinkable for rich families, the Guzman family had always relied on their own efforts and ability to make a fortune, and they made it a point to follow the concept of being prepared for the worst even in times of peace. Under the guidance of their parents, Ashley and her brother didn’t dare to complain. Although the two of them were a little wet behind the ears at the beginning, both of them could now cook with such ease.

Today was a weekend. Since Ashley didn’t have anything much to do, she decided to buy a few things at the market and cook something for dinner. “If you don’t have any plans for tonight, go home for dinner. I’ll cook.” Ashley texted her brother.

After that, she hailed a taxi to the large-scale food market of the city.

It took Ashley about 20 minutes to finish her shopping and buy some simple ingredients including soup materials. When she was about to exit the market, she heard the sound of someone falling down. When she looked around, she found that an old man had fallen down. The loud noise attracted the attention of a lot of passers-by.

The old man tried to get up by himself. However, he seemed to be having some difficulty getting back on his feet all by himself and wasn’t making any progress. Seeing this, Ashley quickly walked up to him and helped him up.

This old man was about seventy years old, but he seemed stronger than most old people. In fact, his strong features seemed a little intimidating. Ashley guessed that the old man might have accidentally slipped down because of the slippery floor in the food market.

The old man thanked her sincerely, “Thank you, young lady!” Finally, the old man stood up with Ashley assisting him. But, when he tried to walk, he felt a sharp pain and couldn’t help but scream.

Seeing this, Ashley didn’t let go of the old man’s arm and gently asked, “Sir, would you like me to accompany you to the hospital?”

Hearing this, a look of astonishment flashed through the old man’s eyes. With confusion written all over his face, he looked at Ashley and gratefully said, “Young lady, thank you for your kindness. But, if you have something to do, I don’t want to bother you.”

“It won’t be good for you to go to the hospital by yourself. Let me accompany you. I’m free anyway,” Ashley sincerely insisted.

The old man simply nodded his head with a gentle smile, and a hint of satisfaction flashed across his eyes.

Sure enough, it didn’t take too long for him to encounter her. Seeing such a warm-hearted Ashley, Leonard nodded with satisfaction.

Indeed, the old man who fell down was Joseph’s grandfather, Leonard. The maid happened to ask for a leave today, so Leonard went to the food market to buy some food, planning to personally cook dinner for his grandson. Apart from that, he wanted to know whether Joseph had got a girlfriend. When Leonard found out that Joseph, who rarely ever paid attention to women, had special feelings for that beautiful woman, he had been interested in her ever since. He wanted to know more about the woman that his grandson fancied or possibly have someone investigate her. Much to his surprise, he happened to meet his future ‘daughter-in-law’ in the food market.
