Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master -
Chapter 290 Who Is More Formidable
Lance, the Commander in Chief of the Crimson Dragon Group, also waited impatiently for Rocky. Hestood up and stared at the competition area where Evan stood waiting confidently. Lance took adeep breath as his eyebrows drew closer together. He grew impatient because Rocky was taking toolong.
The audience and onlookers in the platforms felt impatient as they stared at Evan in the middle ofthe competition area. They wondered what could have happened to Evan's opponent.
When Marin and Isis saw Lance get up from his seat, their hearts jumped up. They knew that ifRocky did not show up soon, Marin couldn't imagine what possible punishment would be imposedagainst him for his absence.
And then suddenly without warning, as if it read the thoughts of everyone in attendance, a beast ofshadow emerged and rushed into the competition area and towards Evan. It pounced at Evanwithout warning with its sharp claws outspread and teeth bared.
The turn of events shocked everyone present. They did not expect that Evan would be attacked by aspirit-manipulated beast as he waited for his opponent.
Evan was also stunned at the sight of a spirit-manipulated beast rushing towards him. But a sliver ofmemory played at Evan and told him that he had seen this beast before. His reflexes quickly jumpedinto play; he immediately ordered his Six-armed Snow Macaque, a spirit-manipulated beast of thesecond grade of the three-star level, to fight the incoming beast.
The macaque could fight adeptly with all of its six arms. It was skilled at jumping and it was smartand sly at the same time. The greatest advantage that it had was its six arms. Almost anyone couldeasily get overwhelmed by simultaneous attacks from its six arms.
The two fierce beasts jumped towards each other without hesitation and a fierce battle ensued. The audience watched with awe as two powerful beasts fought for dominance against the other. They were particularly curious about the beast that jumped into the fight without warning. Theywatched its every movement with admiration and awe. It was hard to tell exactly what its powerlevel was but it emitted a powerful aura which was obviously not weaker than the power of the Six-armed Snow Macaque. Its body was heavily muscled toned for both power and agility. All of its fourlimbs were thickly boned and powerfully muscled. It conveyed an atmosphere of authority andpower as if it was the king of all spirit-manipulated beasts. It captured the attention and admirationof everyone in the battle area without effort.
"It's here!" Marin exclaimed excitedly and happily. She recognized the ferocious beast as Rocky'swar beast, Uriah.
Isis sitting next to Marin understood that Marin referred to Rocky's war beast. And with thisstatement, she felt confused. "Is that his spirit-manipulated beast? No, it can't be. I saw his spirit-manipulated beast. It was not this one." She once saw her maid Sue playing with a spirit-manipulated beast at her residence. Sue told her that it was Rocky's spirit-manipulated beast, and itwas completely different from the one fighting in the arena right now.
"Yes, it is his spirit-manipulated beast. I can't be wrong,” Marin replied confidently as she turned toIsis with a slight smile. She was surprised at the confused look that Isis had on her face. She knewthat her cousin had a great memory and seldom made mistakes when recalling things like that. "Isthere something wrong?" Marin asked her.
"Oh, nothing. I probably just misunderstood something," Isis replied back. And yet she still lookedconfused. She thought that she probably did not pay attention enough to the beast that Sue wasplaying with. But she shouldn't be completely wrong. Even at the worst possible case ofinattentiveness, the beast in the arena should at least look remotely familiar to her. But the beastthat fought Evan's beast was something that she had never seen before and she was sure of it. Shedecided to simply put aside her confusion and paid more attention to the fierce fight that unfoldedbefore her.
"But where is Rocky?" Marin asked. She and Isis looked at each other puzzled. If his war beast washere and fighting, he shouldn't be far from the area.
Lance heard the conversation between the two ladies. He was also confused that Rocky was stillnowhere to be seen. But he soon reverted back to his usual composure and trained his eyes onUriah
"I have never seen a spirit-manipulated beast like that before. It looks like a dragon but its bodystructure is completely different from a dragon's. Is it a completely new species of spirit-manipulated beast?" Lance whispered to himself. Even with the years of experience in dealing withspirit-manipulated beasts, he was still unable to identify the type of beast that Uriah was. He feltboth astonished and frustrated.
But Lance was not the only one who puzzled over Uriah. Even its master Rocky who had intensivelystudied the Beast Encyclopedia couldn't identify what type of beast it was. And this was because theBeast Encyclopedia did not have any information on Uriah's species. It was convinced that Uriahcould be a particularly rare type of beast. Moreover, it had a high possibility of being a spiritualbeast.
In truth, even Rocky was not sure if Uriah was a spiritual beast or not. Not only could it producemagical saliva, but it also had the special abilities of spiritual beasts. The star rating of spiritualbeasts could be improved indefinitely. Thus the only way to truly determine if Uriah was a spiritualbeast was to wait and see if it would improve its current rating to a four-star rating.
It would be great if Rocky would meet a beast evaluator who could evaluate whether Uriah was aspiritual beast or a war beast and tell him which species Uriah belonged to. Unfortunately, such anexpert was not present in the Crimson Dragon Group.
Everyone in the crowd watched Uriah fight as if it was a famous celebrity.
Rocky has yet to show up as Uriah fought the macaque. Everyone watched the fight intently butwondered at the same time where Uriah's master could be.
Those who knew that it was impossible for the spirit-manipulated beast to fight without its masternearby were almost sure that Uriah's master must be somewhere nearby.
Marin and Isis became more uncomfortable as the fight went on. They wondered why Rockydecided to be absent at the arena and only sent his war beast to fight.
Lance watched the fight with great interest. He was amazed at Uriah's performance. His intensivebattle experience allowed him to see the unique features of Uriah's aura that other's cannot detect.Uriah attacked fiercely as the macaque evaded left and right. It was nimble enough to avoid Uriah'sattacks. Also, it was not a pushover when it came to offense. If anyone was attacked by themacaque's six arms, it could cause serious injury. Yet, Uriah's agility was not inferior to themacaque's. It deftly avoided all of the macaque's attacks. And even though the fight had gone onfor some time already, Uriah had not received a single hit from its opponent.
Most of the people who watched the fight concluded that there was no way to decisively determinea winner within the next few minutes for the two combatants were too evenly matched.
The spectators were expecting a battle between two spirit manipulators. Somehow, it turned to abattle between two spirit-manipulated beasts. However, because of the intensity of the fightbetween the two beasts, the people watching could not take their eyes off the two combatants asthey eagerly waited to see who would turn out the winner.
Uriah had the advantage when it came to stamina. Because of the magical saliva that it produced,Uriah simply recovered its lost stamina with the magical saliva as needed. This made it easy forUriah to maintain its peak stamina. Therefore, on a fight that took a long time to conclude, Uriahhad a complete advantage.
After continuous exchanges of attacks, counterattacks and defenses, the macaque started to showsigns of fatigue and was slowing down. Keen observers started to see that the battle was slowlyturning towards Uriah's favor.
When Evan saw that his war beast had started to tire out, he wanted to help it but he decided notto. He was worried that Rocky would attack once he let down his defense and went out to help hiswar beast. He had fought with Rocky once before and he was well aware that Rocky was truly smart. He did not want to be caught off guard by one of Rocky's traps.
Unexpectedly out of nowhere, a whistling sound rang throughout the arena. It was a signal thatUriah knew too well. And without hesitation, Uriah knew exactly what it had to do. It jumped intothe air and swooped at the macaque. This forced the macaque backwards into a disadvantageouscorner. Right after it completed its maneuver, Uriah's two fire tails collided and created a hugefireball that shot forth towards the macaque in one swift and fluid motion.
Instantly, the audience was ecstatic and burst into a loud uproar.
