Chapter 295 Testing

Isis and Marin left the base camp with Rocky and Uriah as their bodyguards. The two ladies ignoredRocky's presence as they traveled all the way to Evian City.

Beautiful ladies would always be the center of attention in a crowd, and that was a known factanywhere. When they walked on the streets of Evian City, the two young and gorgeous ladiesattracted a lot of admiring glances.

Rocky quickly realized that more and more people were attracted by the two beauties and hadstarted to follow them. Soon, a long line of admirers formed behind their group. But the two girlswere not disturbed by this and focused on their shopping.

"Uriah," Rocky called out to Uriah. He was worried that a riot might break out if they did not dosomething about the growing crowd that followed them.

Hearing Rocky's call, Uriah knew immediately what was needed to be done. He positioned himselfbetween the crowd and Rocky's group and then growled threateningly at the crowd.

The people were startled and dispersed immediately. They sensed that Uriah was the kind of spirit-manipulated beast that they couldn't afford to offend. Even the ordinary spirit manipulators whosepowers were weak feared powerful spiritual beasts so they went away as well.

Rocky turned to the two girls when the crowd dispersed. "Dear Isis and dear Marin, could you pleaselay low a little?"

"Why do we need to do that? We have you; our highly-effective bodyguard,” Isis said making fun ofRocky.

When Isis went out, she usually went with guards and had her face covered with a veil. It wasextremely rare that she would go out without a veil on her face nor go out without guards. She wentout without guards and a veil this time since Rocky was out with her anyway.

Rocky gave out an audible sigh and rolled his eyes at her. He understood that Isis was justdeliberately making things more difficult for him since he was their bodyguard.

"Isis, stop that!" Marin said with a tinge of irritation clouding her beautiful face.

"Now follow us and be sure not to lose us or you'll be cleaning the bathrooms of the base camp forthree days!" Isis said and then suddenly changed into a bluish silhouette and then disappeared.Marin turned into a shadow and then followed Isis.

"Is this a test?" It seemed to Rocky now that he had raised Marin's and Isis’ suspicions when hecompeted with Evan. The power level that he showed had definitely caught their eyes. Rocky couldsee that now. But Rocky was smart and tactful. He did not use his capabilities fully when hecompeted against Evan. He only showed the power level that he had achieved three months ago. Itwas clear to him that Isis was trying to determine the true limits of his powers.

Since Rocky knew of Isis's plans, Rocky would not fall into them and do what she expected him todo. But he did not plan to clean the bathrooms of the camp either.

"Uriah, it's your show!" Rocky scratched Uriah's head gently.

Uriah stretched its head towards Rocky and gave out a pleased growl. It rushed towards thedirection where Isis and Marin headed. Rocky then followed Uriah. Uriah had very keen and welldeveloped senses and tracking Isis and Marin was a simple task for Uriah. And all that Rocky had todo was to follow Uriah and he would not lose track of Isis and Marin.

Two female figures showed up by the bank of a river. Clear water flowed in front of them, the soundof rushing water and the song of birds filled the air. A ferry boat had stopped on the river close tothe land, and it gently swayed with the flowing water.

And the two figures were Isis and Marin.

"Has he arrived yet?" Isis glanced at the direction of the ferry.

"He is smart. He knows that we are testing him. He will not be that easy to fool,” Marin replied."Well, that would mean that Rocky do have something to hide if he will not be fooled that easily,"Isis did expect that Rocky would not follow them directly. She wanted to confirm that Rocky simplyhid his true strength. And now the answer was obvious.

"Let's go to the boat. Unless he wants to clean the bathrooms of the camp, he would eventuallyshow up,” Isis said as she gestured Marin to the ferry.

Delicious food was being served when they got into the ferry. The two sat down and ate while theytalked and waited for Rocky to catch up.

"What game are those two playing?" Rocky asked. He followed Uriah for some time and ended upon the river with Uriah in front of the ferry. Rocky concluded that Isis and Marin must be on theboat.

Rocky entered the ferry with Uriah. Isis and Marin were both inside and were eating when Rockycame in.

"Come and have a seat," Isis said and calmly gestured Rocky to settle down.

"You guys are really mean. It took me some time to catch up with you and now you're just relaxingand eating and having fun all by yourselves,” Rocky complained. He poured himself a glass of wineand sipped a little. The wine was smooth and finely made. It was the first time for him to drink winesince he came to this world. And the wine was not at all inferior to the wine from the modern world."This is nice!” Rocky said. He glanced at Isis and Marin and then asked, "I don't think you came hereto simply invite me to this meal. What are you really planning? Or you plan to get me drunk andmake me admit to the things that you want me to admit, right? But I cannot give any assurance thatI will not spill out secrets when I get drunk. But since I will be drunk, I suppose I cannot be heldaccountable for whatever happens, right?"

Isis and Marin's faces both turned scarlet when they heard what Rocky said. Their eyes becamenarrow slits that stared at Rocky with anger. They both did not know that Rocky had seen the nakedbodies of both of them. The possibility that Rocky would let out that secret and have the otherknow about it was a huge threat to both of them.

The cruise ship started to move slowly along the river. The beautiful views from both sides of theriver filled the wide windows of the ship.

The beautiful scenery made Isis relax a little. A faint smile of satisfaction crossed her lips. “The thingsthat you would say when you are drunk are likely not the truth. Moreover, you are a cunning personwho would likely make up lies. So there is no need for us to get you drunk.”

"I will take that as a compliment from the Deputy Commander in Chief," Rocky said. A slight smileand a thoughtful look immediately filled his countenance. "I think we need to get more serious.”"Marin, your turn or mine?" Isis asked as she glanced at Marin.

"Your turn. I bet that he won't tell the truth,” Marin replied with a confident look.

"Well, there is a simple way to do this. We are both stronger than him and he cannot escape us. Sowe can just force him to tell us the truth," Isis said with a slightly naughty smile. Now it seemed thatIsis was the hunter and Rocky was her prey.

"Are you going to try and force me to make confession?" Rocky asked with an impish smile. Thewhole situation seemed to go quickly against him. But Rocky was obviously not anxious nor afraid.There was always a way out for him. Instead, he was curious about what they planned to do next."Rocky, please just tell us who you are really,” Isis asked as her eyes shone with the reflected lightfrom the sun

"I'm just a regular guy," Rocky answered as he shrugged.

"You can't fool me, Rocky. You are more than a regular guy,” Isis said while glancing at Rocky.
