Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master
Chapter 489 Was He Going To Die

Lance held the two letters in his hands and stared at them with angry eyes. He said it was Rockywho led Isis to Mount Clouds. Marin and Sabina were worried he may tear the letters apart. Theywere curious of what was in the letters, but afraid to ask further because Lance seemed to befuming.

"Commander in Chief," Marin asked. "What's in those letters?" Marin waited for a response.

Lance looked up from the letters and stared directly at Rocky with piercing eyes. Rocky glanced atthe two letters. He started to feel like it was something about him.

"Read them yourself." Lance dropped the letters. Marin caught both of them.

Sabina joined Marin in opening the letters. After reading the letters, they both let out a gasp.

"I am trapped in Mount Clouds,” one of the letters said. It was signed by Rocky. The other letter hadan entirely different message, yet they seemed to have been written by the same person becausethe handwriting of the two were the same.

The letter that bore Rocky's signature suggested that Isis went to Mount Clouds in the first placebecause she received a letter from Rocky.

"Perhaps someone pretended to be Rocky? Maybe they used Rocky to lure Isis into a trap,” Sabinaspeculated.

"Everyone knows that the Deputy Commander in Chief wouldn't be gullible. Maybe Isis held on tothe other letter to compare the handwriting. We could always ask Commander Rocky directly.” Todjoined the group.

"Was this letter written by you?" Marin handed one of the letters to Rocky.

Rocky did not deny that the letter was written by him. It was a letter he wrote to Camp DirectorLouis when he was still in logistics camp.

Marin then switched the letter in her hands with the one that said, "I am trapped in Mount Clouds."She looked at him inquisitively. "What about this one?" she asked.

Rocky's brows furrowed. He almost thought the letter was written by him. The handwriting lookedexactly like his. But he never wrote that letter and so he was convinced that someone tried to copyhis handwriting. It finally made sense to him why Lance looked angrily at him.

"This is not mine,” Rocky denied without hesitation.

"How can you still deny it?!" Lance exclaimed. "The handwriting is exactly like yours!" Lance wasfuming.

"Let's invite Commander Dunn here and we can talk about it in his presence.” Isis told Rocky thatthe letter came from Dunn. Perhaps he was the traitor in the Crimson Dragon Group. If he couldexpose Dunn, he could also prove his innocence.

"Commander Dunn?" Lance was confused. "What does this have to do with him?" Lance wassuspicious of Rocky. He thought that he must have been trying to confuse him.

"Just ask him to come.” Rocky stood his ground. “Let's replace out who truly is the traitor in this group.”Rocky remained calm. He did not allow this to mess with his head.

The rest of the group stared at each other in confusion.

"Commander Rocky, Commander Dunn is indisposed. He was injured two days ago while in a battle. He is at the main camp to rest and heal,” Tod explained in behalf of the group.

"He was injured?" Marin replied. "I didn't hear of that happening.” Rocky looked at Marin. Earlier, heasked her directly about the whereabouts of Dunn. She denied any knowledge on the matter.

"We did not want to cause panic. We kept his injury a secret to the rest of the Crimson DragonArmy. They've already been restless these days," Tod continued.

"Well," Rocky sneered, "this is good timing for him to get injured.” Rocky was convinced that Dunnwas just trying to keep himself safe from being publicly exposed.

"Commander Tod, you may leave now," Lance commanded.

Tod bowed and did what was asked of him.

"Rocky, this is hard evidence here. Isis went to Mount Clouds upon your summoning. And then shegot trapped. Do you still think you can get away with this?" Lance was trying to remain calm butfailed. Suddenly, he changed his stance. "No point explaining yourself," he said. "Get ready to die.”Lance couldn't bare thinking about his daughter feeling betrayed when she found out what Rockyhad done. He thought it was best if she did not replace out and so he did not want to give Rocky anychance to talk to her. The only way to solve this would be to kill Rocky and force Marin and Sabinato keep it a secret forever.

Lance turned his hand over. Strong spiritual power was emanating from his palms. Then, thunderlight formed over his hands. One strike at Rocky, then Rocky would be paralyzed and dead withoutpain. Lance valued him enough to make sure he died a painless death. Rocky, after all, contributed alot to the Crimson Dragon Army.

Rocky knew that he was powerless against Lance. He no longer tried to defend himself. Still, hefound it disappointing that Lance was gullible enough to fall for this.

"Commander in Chief, let Rocky explain himself." Marin tried to calm Lance down. "It will be too lateif you kill him." Marin was breathing heavily. She couldn't handle the idea of Rocky being killed. Shefelt deep sadness and heaviness in her heart.

"No need.” Rocky seemed calm. "I don't need to explain myself. But I will not go down without afight.” Rocky's mood shifted. Rocky hated that Lance did not trust him enough, but he had enoughpride in him to not beg to be believed. He knew that Lance was now deaf to his explanations. Theonly option he had was to flee.

He knew that he had to fight with Lance. However, Lance was already at the Divine Stage. It wouldbe impossible for a spirit manipulator merely at the third grade of the Heavenly Stage to defeatsomeone of that power.

Rocky's mind was spinning. He had to quickly make a decision. Was fighting him worth it? Did hehave time to flee? Lance could easily kill him with a flick of a hand. What should he do?
