Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master
Chapter 520 A Strange Sound

Some two days later, two figures could be spotted hastily running across a rocky valley. They werein an obvious rush and refused to stop to rest until they were safe.

They were Rocky and Sabina. For a random passer-by, they would both look like they were fleeingfor their lives.

"Let's rest here. We may have lost them now," said Rocky as he slowed down.

"I was hoping we'd get to a safer place. But it seems like we just keep on encountering more dangeras we get closer to the peculiar light." Sabina frowned with fear.

Two days ago, Rocky was injured by a dangerous encounter they faced. Compared to that, therecent encounters were much less life-threatening.

"The last beasts were just a few Single-eyed Moths. They were just at the fourth grade of the four-star level. They aren't as dangerous as the Four-wing Lame Dragons that chased me off a cliff,"Rocky explained. Recounting the Four-wing Lame Dragons reminded him of Cherry, the mysteriouswoman who saved him. He wondered if she was still in the Myriad Beasts Ground.

"Four-wing Lame Dragons?" Sabina gasped in disbelief.

"Yes. I had a quick detour around their habitat in the Myriad Beasts Ground," Rocky replied casually."You're just bragging!" Sabina rolled her eyes at Rocky. She figured he was just showing-off and itwasn't as bad as he's narrating.

"Look," Rocky said. "We've been going around in circles. We haven't reached the peculiar light atall." Sabina looked around. Seeing the skepticism on her face, Rocky smiled. He gazed at thedirection of the peculiar light. For the past two days, they have encountered many great dangerssuch as spirit-manipulated beasts. They felt as if they weren't getting closer to the light.

Just that morning, they encountered Single-eyed Moths that chased them all the way to the valley. They managed to lose the moths, but they were also stuck in the complicated terrain of the valley."This place looks safe anyway. Let's stop for now and rest," Sabina suggested as she looked at thesky. The night was about to fall.

Rocky did not object. They were both tired and chances of them safely navigating the landscapewere thin. He relied on Sabina to stay safe. She had overwhelming strength as someone in theSupernal Stage. If she was tired then they had to rest. For one, they only escaped the Single-eyedMoths thanks to Sabina's great eye. If it weren't for her, they would have been trapped in the pitfallset by the moths.

They found a safe place in the valley. Their heads were covered by an arched stone and it waspartially enclosed by stone walls. They were able to lean against the walls and set a flame.

"What if all this effort is a waste? What if we just end up with something else but the Sea Blue MagicJade?" Rocky asked Sabina.

"Then I'll kill you." Sabina's stare pierced through Rocky. They only went on a journey togetherbecause of Rocky. She wouldn't have braved the Myriad Beasts Ground, but Rocky insisted. Thejourney had been thrilling, but it was also more frightening than her training in the Death Valleyalone.

When Sabina left their home, she met Marcia. Because of her, Sabina learned how to humble down. Her stubborn and rebellious attitude did not work on Marcia. Marcia taught her that someonewould always be stronger than her. Sabina was in awe of Marcia and she was determined to get herapproval.

Marcia required Sabina to spend a year in a place called Death Valley. It was a haunted anddangerous place and so, if Sabina survived, Marcia would accept her as her student. Sabina alwayshad a strong personality, but most especially back then. However, she was not strong enough thenand the Death Valley was so dangerous that even spirit manipulators at the Heavenly Stage avoidedit.

She spent a year in the Death Valley. A year that she now considered to be life-changing andunforgettable. Her stay there gave her the strength that she had now. Every day in the Death Valley, she was faced with death. But still, she persisted unafraid.

But even for Sabina, the Death Valley was nothing compared to the Myriad Beasts Ground.

She admired Rocky's guts. She knew it took a lot of courage to brave the Myriad Beasts Ground andRocky seemed to not show even a hint of fear.

"Don’t kill me. It's not my fault. Blame the spirit manipulators of the Magic Phoenix Empire. Theypredicted the birth of Sea Blue Magic Jade," Rocky said defensively.

"Speaking of which, we haven't encountered spirit manipulators from either Magic Phoenix Empireor Timber Deity Empire," Sabina realized.

"That's not too surprising. There are multiple ways to reach the peculiar light. They must have takenanother route. Anyway, if a couple of wild spirit-manipulated beasts at the fourth grade of the four-star level frightened someone of your great strength, then I bet they are having an even moredifficult time than us,” remarked Rocky.

"This is your fault. If you gave me a bit more time to prepare, I could easily beat two wild spirit-manipulated beasts at the fourth grade of the four-star level at the same time,” Sabina saiddefensively. She knew it was true. If she and Duchess Silver worked together, even two wild spirit-manipulated beasts were no match with them. But she knew that if she involved herself in the battle, then no one would protect Rocky.

Rocky was strong. But even with Uriah and Rubygon, they could only beat one wild spirit-manipulated beast at the fourth grade of the four-star level at most. Anything more than that wouldbe beyond him.

Rocky smiled. He knew he was being a burden to Sabina.

Then, a shrill scream pierced through the silence of the night.

Rocky and Sabina's eyes widened. They glanced at the direction where the scream came. It was theother end of the valley, and it sounded like a woman's voice.
