Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master -
Chapter 601 The Misunderstanding
With the stillness of the moon, the Evian City was as silent as death after the big battle, givinganyone a sense of desolation and sadness.
On the ruins of the city wall, a woman and a beast stood side by side bathing in the moonlight. Thewoman's cold and beautiful face was like an ice sculpture, and the sadness in her eyes made peoplefeel pitiful. The woman was Sabina.
Suddenly, a beast shadow with flickering flame light fell from the sky. Then, a figure jumped offfrom the beast, and in the blink of an eye, it came in front of Sabina.
"Why are you here?" Seeing that it was Rocky in front of her, Sabina was surprised. But she soonfound that Rocky was looking at her with rage as if he had been cheated, which made her feeluneasy.
"Are you Marcia's disciple?” Rocky asked as he glared at Sabina with a ferocious look.
Sabina was stunned upon hearing that. She never expected Rocky would learn her true identity.Besides Lance and Isis, only her uncle knew that she was Marcia's disciple.
Of course, she wasn't stupid. She soon guessed how Rocky knew about it. It must be her uncle whohad asked Rocky about her business that revealed her identity. She then asked, "Did you meet UncleAllen?"
"You just need to answer me yes or no!" Rocky responded coldly.
Knowing that she wouldn't be able to hide the truth any more, Sabina just nodded in silence.
"I never anticipated you to be Marcia's disciple..." Suddenly, Rocky sneered. His laughter was wild aswell as disappointed.
"I didn't mean to lie to you. It was because my master told me not to tell you my real identity,”Sabina explained, as she saw the strangeness on Rocky's face. She thought that the reason why theman was furious was that she had concealed her true identity.
"Of course you are not going to tell me. Because you have been following me all the way just tokeep watch on me, right?" Rocky questioned angrily.
Upon hearing Rocky's groundless accusation, Sabina was stunned and she asked back, "What didyou just say? Keep watch on you? Why would I do that?"
"Didn't your master instruct you that she should be the one responsible for my exile to the GehennaBorder?" Rocky didn't forget what happened in the past. He didn't mind about his power beingsealed by Marcia. Now he knew that if the woman hadn't sealed his power, he might have beencompletely controlled by his evil power and then spiraled into madness.
In fact, what made him really mad was that, among all the places, Marcia had actually proposedsending him to the Gehenna Border, an extremely dangerous place quite far away from home. So,he couldn't understand why she would do such a thing, which was almost equal to adding salt intohis injury. Moreover, he would have been an unknown soldier in the army if he was not luckyenough to have some unusual experiences on the Gehenna Border. So, he still had a grudge againstMarcia. He really wanted to meet her and ask why she had done that to him. Unfortunately, hedidn't have such a chance. Now, she had sent her disciple to follow him. It was hard for him tofigure out her intention.
Hearing Rocky's reproach, Sabina was at a loss for words. She could make out that he was tellingthe truth, which explained why her master wanted her to protect him. Her master never disclosedthe reason but it was clear that there was something between Rocky and her master, which she wasunaware of. Moreover, it seemed he held a grudge against her master.
"Rocky, do calm down. My master had sent me to protect you. And I think there must be somemisunderstandings between you two." Being caught in a dilemma, Sabina didn't know what hadhappened between Rocky and her master. She felt a little helpless.
"Protect me? If she had wanted to protect me, she would have tried her best to keep me... Insteadof making me lose everything..." Rocky snarled as his eyes reddened with anger.
"Maybe my master had her own reason that was hard to explain to others,” Sabina said with leastconfidence.
"Stop following me anymore. Go back to your master and tell her that I, Rocky Bai will return oneday and will take everything that belonged to me by all means." After uttering those words, Rockyturned around and flew away on Uriah.
"Stop, Rocky Bai!" On seeing Rocky departing, Sabina called to him. However, he ignored her.
"Why can't this guy finish his words before leaving? What on earth happened between him and mymaster? Why does he hate my master so much? And why did my master ask me to protect him?" Atthat moment, Sabina could not figure out what was going on. Without replaceing a way to solve thecomplicated issue, she gazed at the sky with raised eyebrows.
After the serious and reproachful conversation with Sabina, Rocky drove on the back of Uriahaimlessly above the Evian City. As he glanced at the ruined city, all sorts of thoughts welled up in hismind.
At that instant, a melodious sound of a zither drifted into his ears. As he followed the sound, themusic became clearer. A familiar building appeared under his feet. He looked at the building andfound that it was the Geisha House where he had been twice and the sound of a zither came fromthe backyard
"It's odd. Why is there someone playing the zither in the Geisha House?" Rocky was surprised aswell as confused. To replace out who it was, he asked Uriah to land on the backyard. As soon as he gotoff Uriah's back, he saw a girly figure sitting in the pavilion under the moonlight and playing thezither.
"Why is she here?” When Rocky saw the beautiful figure under the moonlight, he was amazed, asthe person who was playing the zither was none other than Laney.
At that moment, Laney was continuously playing the zither as if no one was around. The melodywas exciting, strong and solemn, like an elegy.
Rocky didn't try to interrupt her. He went towards the side of Uriah and listened carefully until themelody came to an end.
As Laney finished playing the zither and slowly raised her head, she saw the silent people and beastin the yard. She was surprised first, and then she immediately recognized Rocky. She shouted insurprise, "Mr. Bai, how come you are here?”
"Miss Laney, you do remember me." There was a slender smile on the corner of Rocky's mouth."How could I forget you? Mr. Bai, you have saved my life.” After placing away the zither, she walkedout of the pavilion and stopped in front of Rocky.
"Miss Laney, why are you still staying here? Don't you know that the Evian City was narrowly to betaken over by the Timber Deity Empire?" Rocky asked in a confused tone.
"Of course I knew that. But I have nowhere else to go if I leave the city. So I was thinking of stayinghere and leaving my fate in the hands of god," Laney answered calmly.
