"Here, take a seat.” Lance sat on his chair and gestured for Rocky to sit down.

Rocky obliged. As soon as he was seated, Lance expressed his gratitude. "Thanks to you, Evian Citywas saved,” he said. "I have made sure that His Majesty is aware of the contribution you have madeto the Crimson Dragon Group."

To Lance's surprise, Rocky did not look pleased. He looked shocked, as if he was reminded ofsomething. The emperor of the Holy Dragon Empire reminded him of his early days at thenorthwest military camp. Back then, he was known as Rocky instead of Basil. However, the militarycamp merged with the main camp and so Rocky figured his identity might have been known tosome, including the emperor. After all, Marcia sent an apprentice to protect him in secret. Perhapsthe emperor was also spying on him.

"To express his gratitude, His Majesty had issued an imperial decree. You will be rewardedgenerously. I made sure that the reward is not anything you can say no to. I intend to restore you toCrimson Dragon General. This time, I will announce it to everyone,” Lance stated.

"There is no need for that. You shouldn't have troubled yourself just to tell me this. If you havenothing else to say, I think I will have to excuse myself." Rocky was not interested in rewards. He gotup and proceeded to the exit.

"Please let me finish." Lance was familiar with Rocky's cold attitude. He did not let himself beswayed.

Rocky stopped in his tracks and turned to look at Lance.

"I know you are angry with me and you have every reason to be. I have misjudged you terribly. But Iam hoping we can put that behind us. I am willing to compensate you by however much you want,”Lance said fervently. He tried his best to maintain his commanding stance, but it was hard when youwere the Commander in Chief trying to beg a commoner's forgiveness. He was not used to beinghumbled down.

"I am not angry. I expected less from you. I just no longer want to waste my time fighting battles. Ino longer want to be part of an army, much less the Crimson Dragon Army." Rocky only had onepriority in mind and that was to train his strength. He wanted to compete with Aston and return toImperial City.

Aston was known for his strength and power. He was a crown prince who had a full force to supporthim. Rocky intended to take everything from him but to do that, he must be strong. He had to reachthe Supernal Stage and be more powerful than any other spirit manipulator.

At that moment, Rocky was only at the third grade of the Heavenly Stage which was seven gradesaway from the Supernal Stage. That required a lot of time which he did not have. He needed to replacenew and faster ways to grow.

He had the Sea Blue Magic Jade and ten Dark Heaven Insects. Together, these rare treasures couldhelp him cultivate. Apart from that, there was still that sealed evil power in his body. He couldunlock it and release its evil power thereby increasing his strength.

But even with all of those, it would still take a while. He needed more rare treasures.

He had no time to lose. Helping the Crimson Dragon Group would just be wasteful for him at thatpoint.

"I will no longer be involved with the Crimson Dragon Army," said Rocky indifferently.

"It seems that you have made up your mind,” Lance said with a stiff nod. It seemed Rocky no longercared about the affairs of the Crimson Dragon Army.

After all, he was no longer incentivized to help them anyway.

Rocky nodded. "Yes I have," he confirmed.

"In that case, I won't ask you to stay here any longer.” Lance sighed, disappointment showingthrough his calm stance.

"Thank you, Commander in Chief." Rocky expected more argument, but he was glad that Lance nolonger fought him on it.

"Now, we need to talk about something as father and son," Lance said as Rocky turned to leave.Rocky heard worry in his voice and felt that something was wrong.

"What about?" asked Rocky.

"I want you to marry Isis," Lance said.

Rocky did not know what to say. He never would have guessed that Lance would make such aproposal. He was one of the Three Great Generals of the Holy Dragon Empire. Why would he wanthis daughter to marry a commoner like Rocky?

"What do you mean?" Rocky looked perplexed.

"As you heard, I want you to marry Isis,” Lance repeated.

"Are you serious?" Rocky could not think of any reason why Lance would force it. Obviously, therewas a bigger reason behind it. Something was unknown to Rocky at that moment. Rocky guessedthat Lance had known his real identity.

But even then, the request was still ridiculous.

"Why would I joke about this?" Lance said sharply.

"Why are you forcing us to get married? Even if I am willing, I am pretty sure she would never agreeto it. She does not like me," Rocky responded calmly and waited for Lance's comeback.
