Chapter 630 Mixed Feelings

Opening her eyes, Isis was met by a burst of dazzling red light that made her squint. She felt a littleheadache, but she didn't care about it. Although the room was dim, it was full of bright red, andhappiness was all over the place. There was still white smoke on the table candlesticks, and thecandle seemed to have just been extinguished.

"I..." Her mind was so blank until she remembered that she got married yesterday.

Upon coming back to her senses, she sat up and looked to the other side of the bed that wasempty, yet was still warm, and had Rocky's smell on it. She suddenly felt a little disappointed as shewondered when he left. 'Why didn't I notice it at all? I didn't expect that I would sleep so deeply..."At the thought of this, she couldn't help shaking her head and smiling. Her beautiful face looked alittle confused as she realized that it was the first time in her life that she was able to peacefullysleep. Last night was her first time to feel warmth and safety. She realized that sharing the nightwith someone made it seem shorter than it really was.

'He didn't do anything to me when I was asleep last night, did he?" Isis thought. She looked down ather messy clothes. Seeing that some parts of her body were naked made her shy to her very corelike a young girl who had just had her first kiss.

A knock cut her beautiful thoughts and brought her back from the heaven of her thoughts to herroom. "Miss Isis, are you awake?" Sue asked.

"Yes. Come in." Isis adjusted her clothes and got out of bed.

Sue pushed the door open and came in with a bowl of soup in her hands.

"Well, did you see Mr. Bai?" Isis wanted to call him by his name, Rocky Bai, but because she felt thatit would be weird to call him that way, she didn't know what to call him, and so she changed theway she addressed him.

"Mr. Bai went to see the Commander in Chief in the morning. He specially told me not to disturbyou and asked me to let you sleep a little longer. He also asked me to give you this bow! ofsobering up soup once you wake up.” Sue gave Isis the soup.

"Oh, I see. How very considerate of him!" Isis smiled lightly as she took the soup from Sue's handand sipped it. With a frown, she said, "It tastes bitter!"

"The bitter soup is good for you to sober up. You must have drunk a lot last night. The whole roomsmells like wine and the bottle is empty,” Sue said as she looked at the empty wine bottle on thefloor.

"It's all because of the wine. Last night I almost..." Isis answered. She couldn't help laughing whenshe thought of her madness last night.

Sue went to clean the messy wedding bed when she asked, "Miss Isis, didn't you bleed last night? Itis said that the bride must bleed on her wedding night. If there is no red blood on the wedding bed,it will bring you bad luck."

Surprised by Sue's question, panicked Isis almost spewed out the antidote soup in her mouth. Sue'ssudden question caught her off guard, even though she was Deputy Commander in Chief of thearmy with thousands of soldiers and generals on the battlefield.

"Well..." The truth was tied on Isis’ tongue. She couldn't tell Sue that she had already had sex withRocky before they were married. Although it didn't matter if she told Sue that, she still feltembarrassed to tell her about it.

"I drank too much last night, so I fell asleep first." Isis hesitated for a while and then found a cheapexcuse.

"So, what you are saying is that you did not sleep with Mr. Bai last night!" Sue blinked in disbeliefand was about to say something when she saw that Isis hurriedly put down her soup. Isis coveredSue's mouth and said, "Sue, this has to stay a secret between us no matter who asks you, okay? Youhave to tell people that you saw blood on our wedding bed this morning. Do you get it?"

"Okay." Sue nodded immediately.

Isis was relieved. If people knew that she did not bleed on her wedding night, many of them wouldsuspect her, which would cause her a lot of trouble. Fortunately, it was Sue who came first in themorning. Any other maid would spread the secret even after being asked not to, but Sue was areliable maid. Isis didn't need to worry about her.

"Help me get dressed. I'm going to see my father,” she then ordered.

Soon, Isis was in the conference hall dressed in a fascinating gauze and red gown. Allen and someother commanders were beside Lance, but Rocky wasn't.

"Good morning, father.” Isis went forward and saluted.

"Morning, dear.” Lance nodded and greeted.

Following the customs, Isis served a cup of tea for him to show her filial respect. After he finished hisdrink, she asked where Rocky was.

"He is heading to the main camp now," Lance replied.

"What? Why did he leave alone?" surprised, Isis responded without thinking. However, sheimmediately realized that her tone was not right and asked, "Why didn't he tell me before he left?""He said that you had been very tired last night and he wanted you to have a good rest beforegoing out with Allen and the Elite Regiment,” Lance replied.

"I'm not tired. I am just a little..." Isis answered.

Suddenly, the crowd looked at each other with a smile.

"I think Commander in Chief will have a grandson soon,” Allen said.

It was not until Allen said this shameful statement that Isis realized she had been misunderstoodShe had meant to say that she just had a headache, but it seemed that everyone else hadmisunderstood her. Embarrassed, her face turned red at once.

"By the way, Isis, I have something to tell you. Come with me," Lance said.

Isis nodded and followed Lance to the side door of the conference hall and entered a separateroom.

"Isis, I've decided to appoint Rocky as Commander in Chief of the Crimson Dragon Army. However, Ithink he is young and inexperienced, so you have to help him out. Besides, the Deputy Commanderin Chief of the Magic Dragon Army is quite unsatisfied with Rocky, so I am afraid he might bepicking on Rocky. You should also be careful and try to help your husband,” Lance told Isis.

"I understand, father.” She nodded.

"Also, you have been married now, so although you are the Deputy Commander in Chief of theCrimson Dragon Army, you don't have to do anything personally. You are my only daughter, so..."Lance said with expectation.

"Father..." Isis understood her father's idea, and her face blushed. However, she was afraid that shewas in a dilemma now because their marriage was just a sham. How could they have theirdescendants if they were not really a husband and a wife?

"Well, I know you are shy, so I will say nothing more. It's good that you know it in your heart. Youknow that Rocky has a top secret identity, which I was so worried about. But I would not haveblessed your marriage if I were not sure he is a good guy. Yet, as a father, I still have some concerns.Now that you have become his wife, he won't keep his secrets from you. As long as he is not atraitor, I am relieved," Lance said with concern.

After hearing this, Isis simply responded. However, her eyes could tell that she was confused.
