Chapter 633 Eating Together

"That's all for this meeting. Everybody, get back to work!" Rocky said with a smile while looking atthe commanders in front of him who looked uglier than butchers.

The commanders shook their heads, sighed, and bowed back.

"During dinner, I hope that there will be no commander that will leave with some lame excuse. Eventhough I am laid back, I don't like anyone to take my words lightly,” Rocky added before thecommanders left his tent.

After hearing what Rocky said, the commanders trembled with fear and left quickly.

"These commanders have been used to an easy life. But now it's time for them to show theircompassion for the soldiers. I will never think that they respect me. I know that they talk a lot aboutme behind my back. But it doesn't matter, I will make these commanders obedient and they willfollow me. But compared to these commanders, the most important thing was for the CrimsonDragon Army to be united,” Rocky murmured with his eyes narrowed after the commanders left.For most of his time in the Crimson Dragon Group, Rocky stayed at the bottom. First he stayed inthe northwest military camp, then he transferred to the logistics camp. With his experience, he knewthat bullying was prevalent in the army, and it was always the weaklings who were bullied. Most of the commanders did not dare to stepforward and shoulder responsibilities because they were too afraid of Lance.

So Rocky changed to correct the Crimson Dragon Army's ways. At first, he knew he needed to getsolid foundation and support from the soldiers who were always at the front line. If he could get thesupport of these soldiers, then he would have the strength of the Crimson Dragon Army. As for thedissatisfaction of the commanders in him, Rocky knew that they could not defeat him, not whenthey lost the support of the soldiers.

Of course, this was just a bad plan. As a matter of fact, what Rocky wanted was to see the wholeCrimson Dragon Army united. However, this was not easy to achieve. The truth was dogs couldnever change their preference for bones. And just like those dogs, these commanders could neverchange their ways. They were accustomed to blaming each other and receiving instant success andbenefits.

Actually, Rocky didn't plan to rely on those commanders, but he still needed their help to getunexpected results.

As the saying goes, "Those who have the hearts of the people will have the world.” Rocky believedin the same ideology. Of course, he did not have enough of people's hearts to have the world, butsoon he would take control of the Crimson Dragon Army.

The fire in the main camp reflected the sky as the night fell.

Besides the five thousand soldiers in the main camp, the rest of the soldiers were stationed in othercamps which were less than a mile away from each other. Looking from above, they seemed to besurrounded by several forces which was very magnificent.

At this moment, the thousands of soldiers in the main camp were gathered in groups of three tofive. They ate porridge and steamed bun while they chatted.

Suddenly someone shouted, "Commander in Chief is here!”

In an instant, the whole camp fell into silence. All the soldiers stopped and looked towards thedirection of the sound.

The group of soldiers near the entrance of the camp dispersed quickly and stepped aside to make awide path. As the soldiers created a path, a figure slowly walked over.

"Commander in Chief!" Time seemed to slow down and it sounded like the shout was as loud as thewaves. The area where Rocky walked by was crowded with people.

Strange looks appeared on all the soldiers’ faces. They didn't know the reason why Rocky was intheir camp. The dirty and smelly camp where those commanders didn't like to come was greeted bythe Commander in Chief, Rocky, which flattered the soldiers and made them feel included.

After he passed through the crowd, Rocky made his way to the cook who was in charge of allottingthe vegetable porridge and buns.

"I want two buns and a bowl of porridge," Rocky said to the cook.

"Commander... Commander in Chief... Why do you want buns and vegetable porridge?" the cooksaid while he trembled as he saw Rocky.

"I'm asking because I want to eat them. Never mind, I'll do it myself.” Rocky took a bowl ofvegetable porridge and two buns and didn't say anything. Then he sat down at the table and beganto eat.

This immediately impressed the soldiers. They never thought that the Commander in Chief wouldjoin them in eating vegetable porridge and buns.

Just as Rocky ate the vegetable porridge and buns, the commanders he invited entered the camp.They were also shocked when they saw what Rocky did. They thought that Rocky just said that hewould do it but would never swallow his pride and eat porridge and buns like a soldier. And heinvited them to the camp, just to use them to show off his noble sentiment. To their surprise, assoon as they came in, they saw how Rocky ate with delight in front of the soldiers. They all sweatedupon seeing that and they all felt an ominous foreboding.

"Thank you for coming. Let's eat together!" Rocky waved at the commanders when he saw themcame. He immediately said to the cook, "Get vegetable porridge for them."

The cook froze for a second, but then he hurriedly got a few bowls of vegetable porridge andbrought them along with the buns to the commanders.

The commanders looked at the vegetable porridge and the stale yellow steamed buns in theirhands. Their expressions were painted with disgust and it's as if it was worse than crying.

"What are you doing? Eat your food," urged Rocky, as he fixed his eyes on the commanders.

All the commanders looked at each other. They looked like they wanted to cry, but there were notears from their eyes. They had no choice but to bite and cooperate with the army under thesupervision of Rocky.

And in the moment, the whole army was in an uproar.

"Don't stand still, eat quickly or the porridge will be cold,” Rocky said to the many eyes that staredat him, then bit his bun.

"From now on, before we send out our troops, every commander including myself will go to variouscamps. We will have dinner with the Crimson Dragon Army's soldiers in turns, and enjoy the samefood with you like equals. When we defeat the Timber Deity Empire, I'll then invite all the soldiers tohave a good meal,” Rocky announced loudly.

Every soldier in the camp was shocked by Rocky's words. They had an incredible expression on theirfaces, and soon, they realized the oddness of the Commander in Chief. They raised their voice, forthe majestic moment!
