Chapter 632 The Orders Of The New Commander In Chief

Before, the Commanders had been quite puzzled when they learned that Rocky would take overLance's position as the Commander in Chief of the Crimson Dragon Army. Although Rocky hadmade a lot of contributions to the army, he was still too young to be appointed as the Commanderin Chief. They all felt that he couldn't assume the responsibility that came with the position.However, their views against him changed tremendously when they saw his demeanor. Anyway,Rocky was now Lance's son-in-law. In the whole Crimson Dragon Army, other than Isis, only Rockywas qualified to take over the position of Commander in Chief. Therefore, even if the commandershad any doubt, they would not display it in public.

After Rocky married Isis, he was immediately appointed as the Commander in Chief. Of course, dueto that, there were indeed many rumors about him. People thought that the reason why he marriedIsis was for the sake of his future career. There were even rumors that he had planned everything atthe very beginning, and all his previous display of noble traits were just a ploy to win over the toppost in the army.

But the fact was, if Rocky was really too weak to be the leader, Lance would not have allowed him totake over the position. After all, he was not stupid and wouldn't have placed the future of theCrimson Dragon Army to someone immature and manipulative.

Rocky had already anticipated the resistance he would face after he took office. He knew that hisevery move and decision would definitely be questioned. Hence, he naturally wanted to develop hisown force and exclude the people who opposed him. In this way, he would be able to strengthenhis position within the Crimson Dragon Army.

That was also the reason why he called all the commanders to his tent as soon as he arrived.

As soon as Rocky entered the tent, he took his seat. He said to the commanders standing aroundhim, "Please have a seat. We are going to have a long talk today.”

The commanders lowered their heads. They hadn't fought for a long time, so they seldom askedabout anything related to the military matters. After all, those affairs were assigned to the specialistsin the army. Unless their attention was required, they seldom cared about such insignificant matters."Commander in Chief, we will ask the people responsible for taking care of these matters report toyou all the information you require. Why are you trying to embarrass us by asking us such trivialmatters?" a Frontline Commander complained. He thought Rocky was deliberately making thingsdifficult for them.

"Embarrass you? As the commanders, you don't even know how many soldiers you have. How canyou say that I am trying to embarrass you? You are very much capable of doing that on your own.Okay, let me ask you a question. Presumably, in a battle, the Black Army has two thousand soldiers,while the White Army has one thousand and five hundred soldiers. However, the two sides have thesame number of spirit manipulators and spirit-manipulated beasts. In the middle of the battle, theBlack Army has seven soldiers left, while the White Army has five left. By the end of the battle, theWhite Army has one left, but the Black Army has been annihilated. Who can tell me how the WhiteArmy turns its defeat into a victory?" asked Rocky, staring at the commanders with cold eyes.Hearing the question, the commanders whispered to each other and started discussing about it.

"All of you shall report to me about the numbers of your own soldiers, the spirit manipulators andthe spirit-manipulated beasts in detail tomorrow. I also want a report on all the casualties in everybattle. This command applies to the three Elite Commanders also..." Rocky ordered solemnly.

All the commanders nodded with gloomy faces.

"From today on, all the commanders in the main camp must have dinners with the soldiers,” Rockycontinued with his orders.

The faces of all the commanders turned ghastly pale. As the catering offered to the commanderswas better than that of the ordinary soldiers, which included wine and meat, while the ordinarysoldiers could only have simple meals. Hence, it was quite difficult for them, who had beenaccustomed to wine and meat, to have simple meals. They felt that such an order was equal tokilling them.

"Commander in Chief, it would be going too far if we were to have dinners with the soldiers. Afterall, we are commanders, while they..." an Elite Commander complained.
