Rocky was humming a cold tune when he turned to signal a small nod at Woods.

"Take your people out of here!" Woods shouted at Tod.

Tod felt a huge weight removed from his shoulder. He immediately did as ordered and took his menwith him

"Your Royal Highness, where have you been? We thought something bad had happened to you,"Lucilla asked, feeling a wave of relief overcome her.

"When I woke up last night, I suddenly remembered that I had an appointment with a friend. I hadto leave the Cao mansion early,” answered Woods.

The people exchanged confused looks. His answer was strange. If Woods did leave, it was odd thatno one saw him. He wasn't a spirit manipulator so he couldn't have just left in secret.

"Then what was Miss Juey of the Xiao Clan doing in your room? Miss Juey was the one standingbeside Mr. Rookie. I heard that it was Miss Mary who went with you to your room last night," Lucillacontinued to ask.

Woods turned to look at Juey. It was the first time that he had met Juey. He was clever, so he hadfigured out what was going on last night. At the same time, he also noticed that the way Rockylooked at Juey seemed to be different. So he had known what he should do next.

"Perhaps someone thought I'd easily be seduced by her. Maybe she was sent to me as a gift. I thinkthe chief of Xiao Clan had something to do with it.” Woods looked coldly at the kneeling Raef, andthen looked at Mary. Rocky had told him that he was drugged. "Really?" Woods sneered. Then he walked up and sat down on the seat dedicated to Lucilla.

"What other excuse do you have, Chief Reaf?" Lucilla glared at Raef. It wasn't just his deception thatangered her. She was mad at him for letting Juey take all the blame. She was his daughter. What hedid was unthinkable for a father.

"Your Royal Highness, Chief Lucilla, I understand that what I did was wrong. But please, give me achance. I didn't mean anything!" Raef cried in defense. He knew that if his sins were not forgiven, heand the entire Xiao Clan were doomed.

"Father, stop it. Own up to our mistakes. This is all our fault,” Mary, who had been silently kneeling,finally burst. She looked at Raef and, with a serious look on her face, spoke up. "Your RoyalHighness, Chief Lucilla, my father is behind this. He wanted to use Juey to take advantage of you. Iregret to inform that I have been an accomplice.”

The crowd erupted into a commotion.

"Chief Raef, how could you do such a thing?" Lucas said sternly, his face darkened.

"Even a vicious tiger doesn't eat its cubs. That was very low of you,” Woods said. Then, he looked atthe crowd and announced, "Raef, the chief of the Xiao Clan, drugged me and intended to murderme. He has committed a serious crime. He will be receiving the appropriate punishment.”

The Xiao Clan members looked pale, but they kept silent because they did not want to beimplicated.

"Your Royal Highness, my father just had a moment of weakness. I request for your kindness andconsideration. I hope you only punish him leniently!" Juey pleaded in tears. No matter how muchshe hated Raef, he was still her father.

"Your Royal Highness, I'm willing to bear the blame for my father,” Mary added.

"Raef, what good daughters you have! Since they begged, I am willing to spare your life. Butwouldn't it be a disgrace if you remained the chief of the Xiao Clan?" Woods stated.

"Your Royal Highness, I deserve to be punished. If you spare my life, I will not serve as the chief ofthe Xiao Clan anymore.” Raef was shaking. All he thought about was his survival.

"Does the Xiao Clan have an heir?" Woods asked.

"Yes, we do.” Raef turned to look at Mary meaningfully.

"Your Royal Highness, the heir of the Xiao Clan is Juey!" Rocky, who had kept quiet throughout thecommotion, suddenly chimed in.

It was all part of Rocky's plan. He needed to make Juey the chief of the Xiao Clan so that Juey couldcarry out his plan. He was almost there. But first, he needed Juey to be chief.

"No. She's not the heir.” Raef shook his head. He knew that if the Xiao Clan would fall under Juey'scommand, it would be doomed soon.

But Mary supported Rocky. "Your Royal Highness, Juey is indeed the heir.”

"Mary, what are you talking about?" Raef shouted as he looked at Mary in astonishment.

"Father, you have promised Mr. Rookie that Juey would take over the leadership.” Mary's facelooked stern. She was being very careful. She could not risk making another mistake.

"Then from today on, Miss Juey will take over the position of the chief of the Xiao Clan. You all canserve as the witnesses,” Woods announced.
