Reborn Through Fire (Kisa and Gilbert) -
Chapter 1503
Chapter 1503
Gilbert's eyes narrowed as he looked at the unfamiliar number flashing on his phone. He answered the call and heard a woman's voice, which sounded vaguely familiar.
'Hey, Gilbert. Your grandma is with me, and she's safe. Can you come see me alone?" The woman hung up the phone after speaking and immediately sent an address to Gilbert. Gilbert quickly checked the address and headed toward his car. Kisa's heart was heavy with worry, and she was about to follow Gilbert. But he turned around suddenly and gave her a cold, hard stare. "Don't follow me!" he barked. And with that, the car sped away, leaving her standing there feeling devastated and alone.
Meanwhile, Shaun was feeling smug as he leaned against the gate of the mansion. "Listen, if you guys beg me or Mr. Tanner nicely, maybe Mr. Tanner will let you stay here," he said with a sneer.
But George was not having it. "We only follow Mrs. Kooper Sr. and Mr. Kooper, and now that they are gone, we have no reason to stay," he retorted angrily.
Shaun just scoffed. "Fine, kick them all out, but make sure Mr. Tanner doesn't see it. We don't want to ruin his mood," he said with a wicked grin.
As the year drew to a close, the weather turned colder, and the snow began to fall heavily. George and some of the loyal servants huddled together on the side of the road, feeling lost and hopeless. Kisa's heart sank as she turned to George and said, "Let me arrange a place for you to stay, okay?" But George ignored her. Kisa pursed her lips and added, "I know you are also angry with me. Actually, I can't forgive myself either. I'm not trying to get your forgiveness by arranging a place for you to stay. It is just that Mr. Kooper Sr. still needs your care, and when Gilbert replaces her, you can go to her side and take care of her. How about that?"
George slowly turned his head to look at her. His wrinkled face was full of complexity, incomprehension, and pain. "I always thought everyone would harm Mr. Kooper, but only you wouldn't. It seems I was wrong."
Kisa suddenly choked up, and tears welled up in her eyes. She covered her mouth and sobbed, even explaining seemed futile.
Davian rushed over and pushed Kisa away. "You don't have to worry about where they are going. You are just here to cause trouble. Get out of here!"
Kisa stumbled back two steps. She took a deep breath and said, "Davian, I really didn't mean to harm him."
"But you did harm him," Davian said, changing his playful demeanor. At this moment, he had a few more traces ofcalm and sternness on his face. "Do you know that Mr. Kooper has known that you were stealing GK's confidential files all along? Those files were even deliberately placed in front of you by him. He thought you wanted GK, so he willingly gave it to you. Who do you think he is? He is Gilbert Kooper the one who dominates the business world. When facing the crisis of the company, with his ability and means, would he really not know how to resolve it? He didn't want to resolve these crises, everything he did was at your behest. He treated you so well, but how did you treat him? You took GK, and even the Kooper residence you refused to let go. How cruel can you be? You will only stop when you saw them homeless on the streets?"
"No, no..." Kisa shook her head frantically, unable to hold back her sobs.
"The truth about the fire back then has now been made clear. It had nothing to do with Mr. Kooper at all. In the end, Mr. Kooper didn't owe you anything. If I were Mr. Kooper, I would never forgive you for the rest of my life." i
Davian finished and left with George and the other servants, leaving Kisa alone in the flying snow.
