Chapter 1504

Kisa slowly squatted down, with Davian's last words ringing in her ears. "If I were Mr. Kooper, I would never forgive you for the rest of my life."

'Of course, after what happened, Gilbert would never forgive me,' she said in her mind.

Footsteps approached her from behind, and she mechanically turned her head. Mia stood in front of her, still as stunningly beautiful as ever, but with no trace of the seductive smile from before. Time had changed everyone, but in the end, Kisa still could not understand her. She did not even know why Mia had betrayed her. A faint pain throbbed in her belly, and she struggled to stand up, leaning on her knees. She looked at Mia calmly, without a word.

Mia smiled, apologetic and indifferent at the same time, with a hint of inexplicable emotion. 'You must hate me now, don't you?' she said.

Kisa shook her head. She did not hate Mia; she was just disappointed.

'I thought friends could confide in each other, but apparently not. Lea could betray me for love, and Mia could stab me in the back for her own gain. Am I overestimating myself?' she thought to herself. She did not say anything to Mia, nor did she want to investigate the reasons behind her betrayal.

'Davian's right, once the damage is done, there's no point in offering excuses,' she thought again. Exhausted, she turned around and walked aimlessly in the snow.

Mia watched her slender figure disappear into the distance, her eyes blurred with tears. She looked up, smiled, and turned to the man lurking in the corner. "Are you happy now?"

The man leaned against the wall, his head slightly lowered, his fingertips flickering with a faint spark. He smirked, a hint of self-mockery in his expression. 'Happy? I'm not even sure if I'm happy or not with the outcome.'

Kisa jolted awake, replaceing herself in an unfamiliar mansion. She sat up in a panic, looking around bewilderedly.

'You are awake?" A voice came from the window, both unfamiliar and somewhat familiar.

Kisa turned toward the sound and saw Adrien. His voice had changed; this was actually his real voice, David's voice.

She looked at him for a moment and then cracked a smile. "Uncle David."

Adrien was startled for a moment, chuckling softly. 'It seems you already know my true identity."

Kisa sneered. "After the huge drama at the wedding yesterday, it was hard not to guess who you really were."

David stood up and walked over to her. He looked at the woman on the bed, his eyes distant yet complex, as if he was looking at another person through her. After a long while, he chuckled softly. "You look so much like your mother."

Kisa thought he was reminiscing about her mother, but in the next moment, his expression suddenly turned ferocious.

'Every time I see your face, I can't help but think of that b*tch!"

'Shut up! Don't you dare talk about my mother like that!" Kisa growled, feeling a sense of despair and sorrow for her mother. 'When my mother passed away, she always thought of him. But what about him? In his heart, my mother was just a b*tch? How could he? How could he speak of her like that?' she kept asking in her mind.

'For so many years, I have been reminding myself to get revenge on all of you. Heh! Your mother died early, so you will have to atone for her sins."

'What sins did my mother commit? If anyone is at fault, it is you who betrayed her."

"I betrayed her?" David sneered. "Did she tell you that?"

"Don't make my mother out to be so despicable. She never said anything about you."

David lowered his gaze, his tone suddenly softening.
