Chapter 104: Awakening

The past few weeks have been going smoothly with I and Axel going on a few dates every week. Everything has been nice except the fact that he has been trying to make advances towards me and he has been trying to make out with me even though I told him we will have to work our way to it.

"Heyyy," Amira greeted as she came into my room.

"Hi," I replied as I continued scrolling through my phone.

"How are you doing?" she asked me.

"I'm good and you?" I responded with a smile.

"I'm fine. Are you going on with Axel today? I have missed my friend," Amira said with a pouty face.

"Yes we do have a date but it is by nine tonight. That gives us enough time to hangout," I winked at Amira who returned the wink.

"Okay then, Let's go on a spa date. I need all the relaxation I can get. David has been talking to me lately and I don't trust myself to keep it all together," she said inhaling a shaky breath.

"What happened?" I asked worriedly.

"We kissed," she said as tears rolled down her eyes.

"Oh no," I walked towards her and hugged her.

"What happened? How did it happen?" I asked wanting to know the full story of what happened.

"He came to my room early this week and normally I wouldn't be there but since you were with Axel and I had no one to talk to, I retired very early. When the knock came in, I thought it was you and I was wondering how quick your date must have been for you to be at my door. I opened the door to see him and when I asked him what he was in my room. He said he just wanted to speak to me and he apologized for how everything went down and how he called me mate that night and I told him it was alright that I had forgiven him but he hurt me and we just kept on talking. He told me he missed me and he missed being my friend and that we could still be friends and I accepted to be his friend which was a grave mistake I made.

Since I have known that man, we have found it hard to keep our hand off each other, how didn't I know that agreeing to be his friend was a mistake?" She said to me and I didn't know what to do but to hug her tighter.

"He started coming to my room every day and we will just drink a little bit of wine and talk. Last night I suggested that we should watch a movie and he even let me pick the movie. We were watching girl next door when I noticed he was no longer focused on the movie but he was looking at me like he could not breath and I was his only source of oxygen. I should have stood up, I should have gone outside or better still walked away, but no I like the way he was staring at me and I let him continue to stare at me while I stared back at him and me moved closer till there was no space between us anymore and we kissed. No, we didn't just kiss we made out. It took his phone ringing to snap me out of it. Lyra his wife is pregnant and I am out here making out with her husband" she cried into my arms.

"It's not your fault Mira," I said as I thought about what she just told me. Why did he stare at her like that when he has a mate? and why did he kiss her knowing fully well that Amira hasn't healed from him and he could break her? why did he even start talking to her?

These questions ran through my mind.

I cuddled Amira until she fell asleep then I got ready from my date thinking of what Amira told me. Was I even in love with Kyle? Am I attracted to Axel or is it just the mate bond?

I hadn't felt any of what Amira described to me and I know that people feel love differently but, what she was describing to me was the proper way to feel love I guess. I mean I think love should be passionate and sweet, fearless and honest, beautiful and peaceful.

Will I ever be able to feel any of this with Axel? I questioned myself lost in thought.

I finished getting ready at exactly eight thirty and I waited till nine. After an hour Axel still hadn't shown up and I started to get worried, I decided to go to his office. I stood up from my bed looking over to check on Amira then I walked out of my room and walked in the direction of Axel's office. Every step I took, the more my heart pounded

I started to feel on uneasy and I didn't know why but I continued moving towards the office. "Axel" I heard a woman's sigh and my heart skipped a beat as I neared his office.

I opened the door of Axel office and it smelled of sex mixed with sweat. I could hear their moans and grunts and when I opened the door fully. I saw them.

The blonde lady was bent over on Axel's office table while Axel was behind he moving in and out of her. as soon as he made eye contact with me, he stopped and I closed the door and ran towards my room.

"Lyra!" I heard Axel call my name but I was too angry to stop, I continued running and when my feet started to hurt because of the amount of pressure I was putting on the heels, I bent down to remove them and that was when he caught up

to me.

He held my hand and I moved away from him.
