Chapter 106: Second chances

"Why will he treat me like that?" I looked at her with my tears stained face.

"Okay, let's start like this, all his relationship have always had problems because of Axel's habits and no it is not all about cheating, that is why I asked you if you were sure about him because many people have gotten their hearts broken and I didn't want that to be you." Amira said to me. "What do you mean his relationships have always had issue?" I asked not understanding still.

"You see my cousin is the most feared and hated alpha in all of Russia and to me it is all a misunderstanding but to other people that don't get it, he is caused and that is why he has lived a tough life. He has reasons to not take relationships serious and the blonde you caught him with is probably Alice, she is his off and on thing. She has the intention of being luna and will stop at nothing to achieve it so she came on to him on the day where his walls will be down." Amira said. "You will need to elaborate a little bit more because I don't still understand what you mean," I said to her asking her to continue what she was saying about her cousin.

"I know my cousin likes you and he has feelings for you and it is not just on the mate bond pull level," Amira said to me.

"What then if he has feelings for me? He doesn't make me feel like it. If I am second guessing then does he truly love me? I cannot live that life again. I will not but myself in a position of breaking my heart later because I just have feelings for him. I will not do that to myself, if he wants to build a relationship with me, it is way more than feelings. I cannot be constant second guessing," I said to Amira who nodded in understanding.

"Before last night did you second guess?" Amira asked me.

"No," I shook my head.

"Exactly, that is what I am saying. You didn't second guess because he gave you no reason to and he was with you, punctual for all your dates, kissing you good night and al but I am telling you now that yesterday was so good for him. He was down emotionally and Alice used it to her advantage. He ended things with Alice and while back and even though they have been on and off, he hasn't been seen with her through out this year. She even got herself an Italian boy friend and she was supposed to be mated this fall." Amira said.

"I know all of this but that doesn't give him the right to cheat," I said still.

"I know but you have to consider where he is coming from, I am telling you that his mental state was bad yesterday and I was supposed to be with him but I was worn out and let myself sleep because I thought you will be with him." Amira repeated the same thing.

"Then make me understand let me understand. What is going on with your cousin? Why did he need emotional support yesterday? Why didn't he tell me that he needed emotional support yesterday. And even you know that needing emotional support is not an excuse for you to act without morals and then try to evoke sympathy from people. Things are not done that way. If he knew he wasn't fine, he could have told me. I have literally told him the worst of what I had experienced," I spoke angrily.

Amira was about to reply to me when a sound of knocking sounded and she stood up to see who it was.

"Is Lyra in?" I heard him say and I wanted to tell her to not let him in but he already walked in.

"Lyra," He called out my name looking at me with bloodshot eyes.

"Yes?" I replied.

"Can we talk?" he asked and I shook my head and turned away.

"Please, I need to speak with you," he begged.

"I am not interested in speaking with you," I said and walked into the bathroom.

I closed the door and I sat down on the bath tub.

I took a deep breath and I remembered the last thing my mother told me before I came back. She said that if I was tired and if loving somebody did not work out for me, I shouldn't take it out on myself I should look at the better side of things.

But what are the better side of things right now? A little voice in my head asked.

I shook my head and laughed because that couldn't have been said any better.

"Hmm what should I do now? Should I ask Amira what happened to make Axel do that or should I just forget about everything and move on with my life," I whispered to myself.

"Lyra, are you okay in there?" Amira asked and I could sense the worry in her voice.

"Yes, I am fine," I chuckled.

I opened my bathroom door slightly and I peeped through it.

"Is he still here?" I asked Amira.

"No girl, he left already. You can come out now," she said to me and I opened the door fully and walked out of the bathroom.

"Mira, what do you think I should do?" I asked her.

"I don't know, I cannot tell you what to do but honestly, if I was in your situation, I don't think I would have forgiven him so suddenly, but I want to ask you to forgive him," she said. "Did your forgive David immediately?" asked her.

"No," she replied facing down and I knew I asked the wrong kind of question.

"I am sorry, I didn't mean it like that I was just trying to say that. oh my gosh, I am sorry Mira," I said
