REBORN UNDER THE FULL MOON -
Chapter 124: The Possession
Zeus' POV
"Look what you've made me do! ahhhh!!. You made me awaken Ryker!!" Merida screamed, causing a tantrum, still in her witch form.
I looked deep into the Ryker's eyes and something caught my attention. His eyes were completely dark, as he moved blindly, still walking around the boundary of the portal.
I summoned courage to go near the portal with the intention of tricking him to go back to the land of the dead.
"Lyra is in Russia you say?" I asked him.
"Yes.... you asked for her location, didnt you? she's in Russia," the spirit replied, still moving round the boundary, probably contemplating living his world.
I wouldn't let that happen.
"That's good to here, Spirit of Ryker. I'll go to her, bring her home and take good care of her. You must leave at this moment, " I replied the spirit. Seemingly ignoring my command, it tried to take steps away from the boundary into our pack. "Leave now!!! the dead has nothing to do with the living!!!" I commanded again, moving closer to the portal.
"Lyra is in Russia," the spirit repeated, still making advances into our pack.
"Leave at this instant!!! "I commanded again.
Amira, irritated, screamed loud like a typical witch, nodding her head violently, " Ryker must not return to this pack. He's dead and closed. Zeus!!! what have you done to us. You deceived me, "
Looking at her, " quiet!!! let me think," I quickly cautioned.
Still in her witch form, she shouted again," Zeus!! you deceived me into opening a portal. I should've known better. Ryker must not return to this pack. He's dead."
Meanwhile Ryker was already making advances into our pack, just like the other spirits did. He evinced his displeasure at Zeus by a contemptuous sneer and a grim scowl.
"You must return to the land of the dead, Ryker, you have no deal with the living, "I commanded.
He seemed not to hear, advancing like a zombie. I had to act fast, and in desperation, my heart filled with rage against him, I attacked him head long. A. spirit he was, so I got close to him but felt nothing but a dark vacuum as I tried to attack him.
"Get away from...." Merida hadn't finished her warning when we both heard a loud bang, light radiating all over. Then the rain and thunderstorm stopped and everything went back to normal.
It took Merida to make me understand what had taken place. She screamed, "Zeus, Ryker's spirit has possessed you!! "
I didn't feel any different, just a growling by my inner wolf, so I defended my state, "Spit the evil away Merida. A dead spirit can't certainly possess an Alpha wolf, "
"Not when the dead spirit is also an Alpha wolf. A lot must be done to separate you from this evil. "
The portal closed gradually, the surrounding returning to normal. My guards and warriors returned, and Merida turned back to her human form.
"My Lord, you must be cleansed of this evil as soon as possible, or you'll forever be bounded to Ryker," she said.
"I'll never hear any of that no more. I'm not bounded to any Alpha wolf except Zeus himself, and that's me!!!"
Looking straight into my eyes and seemingly unmoved by my high voiced tone, "The consequences of your aligned wolf spirits would be catastrophic to this pack, coupled with the fact that other strange spirits have occupied our pack," she said, just as my servants came up to us.
"You may leave when you wish, I've gotten the information I need. Lyra is in Russia. I would comb the length and breadth of the continent, and I must replace her," I said as I turned to leave.
Kyle's POV
My opponent in the tournament was a Roman royalty, a beta to a pack perhaps. I cared less about his background as my aim was only to win.
We heard the horn, signalling us to begin.
We charged at each other, using all we've got. A couple of minutes into the fight, I interpreted my opponent's tactics; he was a Royal swordsman, a noble one at that. He fought with dignity and high headedness.
I needed to win
So I knew the right steps to take in order to win. I tried to be witty. His fighting steps were maintained at three steps forward and two steps backwards, so I moved in a similar pattern, providing the impression that I was also a noble fighter. He relaxed, thinking he had met his true match, then I struck.
I moved three steps forward as usual, making him to relax, moving two steps backwards. The I moved with precision to his left, keeping him off balance, doing this provided me ample space to attack him, swirling my sword at his, and finally touching his fingers with the tip of my sword.
His sword fell.
Realising my witty trick and looking straight into my eyes, "Maledictus es!!! (cursed, you are)" he said in his local language.
"Yeah, I get that a lot," I replied, darting my eyes round the spectators.
Then my eyes fell on someone, my blood shivered just at the mere possibility. People scrambled past her and I looked in the same direction, but she was no longer there.
Lyra?
I retreated inside to prepare for the next round.
After a while, we were to come out, marking the second round of the swordfight.
"Ready to get your ass kicked again?" I mocked my opponent as we moved round, his fans and town people hailing him and booing at me. I had no active supporters, as even Nathan failed to attend the tournament due to a personal wolf ritual he was ordered to perform. So I was there alone, in a world that showed no love and attention to me, making me more determined to fight and win.
As soon as we heard the horn sound we both charged at each other, clashing our swords at our first attack. He changed his fighting pattern, applying speed and extra agility, making it difficult for me to conquer this time. He still maintained his noble fighting pattern, so I could increase my speed. I tried to increase it in the same manner that Nathan did during my last training with him.
I move and attack with a speed that obviously annoyed my opponent. He continued to strike, making effort to hold his sword in his hands. I attacked with all the booing, advancing and almost bringing him down again until the unexpected happened. I saw her again, quite distant and quite changed. Still trying to identify if it was a mirage, my opponent used the opportunity to hit my sword, felling it in the process.
I lost.
