REBORN UNDER THE FULL MOON
Chapter 125: Unfinished Business

Lyra's POV

Kyle?

Surely it couldn't be him. I moved uneasily on my seat, trying hard to scrutinize his face to know if he was truly the one fighting there. David and Amira both found it necessary for me to return with the servants to the tournament to identify Axel's sword and armour, bringing it to the hospital.

I looked at his fighting steps, quite sure it was totally different from that of Kyle, so I felt relieved, not until he stared directly at me from the field, still holding his sword high in action. Then I had little reasons to doubt that he was certainly the

one.

When I thought I was beginning to feel at home here, my past came along. I quickly left the seat, rushing back to the hospital. The servants saw me hastily moving.

Trying to catch up with me, "My lady, is everything alright?" Jackson, the lead servant asked, still maintaining his pace to catch up with mine.

I didn't stop. "We need to get to Axel as soon as possible. You're with his materials, aren't you?" I asked.

"Why, of course I am, my Lady, but your sudden haste is surely alarming, should we alert the warriors?" he asked concerned.

I immediately reduced my pace, realizing that I was making a scene, "Not in the least, Jackson. I just feel we should hurry up and get back to Alpha Axel. He needs us. We should head back to the Royal escort right away, "I commanded.

"As you wish, my Lady," he said, making a slight bow and increasing his stride. He quickly reached the limousine and opened it, making another bow as I entered.

I raised the helm of my gown as I made way into the car. "Kyle, it surely can't be," I thought out loud, wishing it was all a bad dream.

This caught the attention of Jackson, "What did you say my Lady?" he asked, bowing low to get close.

"Oh, nothing, Jackson. Quickly get this car moving. We don't have much time." Obviously worried and confused at my haste, he walked quickly, got into the car, started it, and drove of.

Stealing glances at me through the rear mirror, he softly asked, "My Lady, seems like you saw a ghost in there." I didn't give a reply, so he kept the car moving, minding his business.

"Kyle," I muttered again under my breadth as I move uneasily on my seat. I tried to recall my last moment with him. That was a long time ago, and I had even cut the mate bond between us both. So how did he get here? Two answers to that question ran through my mind; coincidence, or he consulted spirits. Then another terrible answer travelled through my mind, the very option I was trying hard to avoid; Zeus was with him. The very thought threw shivers down my spine, causing me to breathe hard.

"It surely can't be, for if it is, Zeus, being the cruel Wolf that he is, would surely wage war against Moscow park, destroying it totally, just to see me bittered," I muttered to the hearing of Jackson who suddenly packed the car and turned back to

me.

Looking at me with fierce eyes, his face lit with the fire of worry, for me, or for his Alpha, "My Lady I've worked for Alpha Axel since I was a toddler, I've been with the Royal household through tick and thin. I know and understand the helm of affairs in this pack. Can you trust to tell me what's going on?"

he asked, looking intently at me, expecting a revelation.

I gave him none. I just couldn't.

Looking away from him and feigning annoyance, "You better get this car moving and learn to respect your boundaries. If there's need to reveal a burden, I surely know where to get relief," I said.

He nodded his head slightly, "hmmm," he expressed, folding his lips into his mouth. "As you wish," He started the car again and drove off to the hospital.

Kyle's POV

I got distracted, losing the second round. I could have sworn that I saw Lyra seated there, beautiful than ever, her skin glistering in the mid day sun. My heart melted as I saw her, the music of her presence singing a swift melody in my blood. The melody that cost me the tournament.

My opponent, oblivious of what I saw, thought he won clean and raising his sword high, his supporters hailing him.

"Enjoy your moment Roman guy, enjoy it while it lasts," I said looking at him.

He won the second round, implying that there would be a third. I knew I would win as he wasn't a good fight.

After the short break, we returned, ready to kick each other's butt. I looked steadily at him, trying to possibly predict his moves before he even started, but the constant thought of Lyra kept me distracted.

Hearing the sound of the horn, we charged at each other again. We clashed our swords, moving swiftly in opposite directions. He proved a tough match this time, as he constantly countered all my witty schemes.

Locking eyes with him, "You want to prove a tough guy, you'll surely get it tough," I said to him, charging at him with full speed, trying to advance my sword closer to him and dodging his own at the same time. We switched direction again and again, my schemes all failing.

This fight proved to be my longest standing contest, as I eyed my opponent. I observed that he too was tired of it, but he kept on attacking and defending. I tried pressurize him from the left, shoving my sword closer and closer to his hand. He took it as an opportunity, tipping my sword upwards, swerving his sword at the same time.

My sword flew out of my hands upwards. If it falls down I would lose the contest, taking my points downwards. I quickly followed my sword, luckily catching it. Turning around I saw my opponent about to strike his sword at me so I quickly dodged the attempt with my sword bending low at the same to get to his right. I pushed on from that point, clashing my sword with his sword and attempting all the side tricks I could remember.

"You've proven to be a tough challenge, I'll give you that," I said to him.

Still charging towards me seemingly tired, "You've died twice in this round, give up for goodness sake!!!" my opponent cried.
