REBORN UNDER THE FULL MOON
Chapter 73: Promises And Tears

LYRA'S

POV

I didn't understand what was going on. Today is my birthday but Aria and Merida are giving me some kind of distance. They didn't even wish me and I haven't seen Kyle all day.

That has been happening all week and I am getting frustrated because we haven't been able to replace any reasonable lead on the incident that happened in the woods and that poor wolf that was sacrificed to send that message wasn't from our pack.

Another thing that is making me bothered is that Kiera and her friends have been crawling around the pack and I haven't been able to replace any evidence that will suggest that they are plotting something. I even started waking up early to go on jogs but it looks like they stopped coming outside to "clear their heads" in the morning because I haven't seen them in a while.

One night, I went outside because I left some important documents in my office that is in the pack house. I walked towards the pack house and I wanted to use the back door to get into the pack house but I stopped and hid behind a truck as I spotted Kiera and her friends sneaking out.

I tried to follow them but as soon as they got into the woods, it is like they disappeared into thin air. I tried staying out a couple of times to see if I'd catch something but they were all in vain. When I tried to complain about it to Aria and Merida they told me there was no way wolves could disappear. That no wolves had that power, even the ones from other creators.

"What if they are not wolves?" I had asked.

"Really Lyra? Now I just think you are being paranoid because what else could they be. No matter what witch it is, it they are being disguised it will wear off one day," Aria said to me. "Hi, guys." I walked into the office to meet Aria and Merida.

"Let's go shopping Lyra, we are attending a party tonight," Aria said to me.

"What party?" I asked because it was clear that they had forgotten about my birthday.

"One of the species have some kind of party for their kind today and they invited all other species. It will be really nice for us to go there and unwind. What do you think?" Aria asked me. "Hmm okay," I nodded as I stood up and got ready to accompany them to the mall.

"We haven't had a spa day in so long, let's also get that done," Merida quipped and Aria nodded so I just followed them to the spa.

We spent the entire day laughing and having fun. I wanted to remind them they forgot about my birthday but I thought against it. "Happy birthday Lyra," they both laughed when my face turned surprised.

"What did you think? That we forgot?" Aria asked laughing while I nodded.

"How could we forget your birthday," Merida said as she hugged me.

"Now, we are going to get our nails and toes done," Aria smiled at me.

"What is going on? Are you guys planning something?" I asked.

"Yes, we plan to celebrate your birthday at home, just us. But we need to look good doing it," Aria winked.

"Hmm okay," I said not giving it much thought.

I was just happy that they didn't forget my birthday. When we got back to the house, I saw a wrapped birthday gift from Kyle.

I was surprised because I thought that he didn't remember my birthday.

"Awwn, Kyle is so sweet," Aria cooed.

"Urgh, Aria stop that you will make me puke. Lyra open the gifts quickly, let's see what he got you," Merida said like an excited child.

Aria brought a gown for me to wear.

"Why are we getting dressed?" I asked confused since the plan was to celebrate my birthday in the house.

"Yes, we are celebrating at home but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't dress up and don't forget we still need to go to that party happening with the faes." Aria reminded me. "Okay then, we will do that," I said to them as we got dressed and ready to party.

"I wasn't told this event will be happening in the garden." I said to them as we continued walking towards the garden.

"We signed it before you go out of your coma," Aria said and I nodded.

When we got the garden, I saw Kyle and most of the members of the council present, "Surprise!" they all said and I turned to look at Aria and Merida who smiled at me. "Happy birthday Lyra," they said again and this time my eyes filled with tears as I rushed forward to hug them.

"Thank you," I smiled.

"Happy birthday sweetheart," Kyle said to me as he planted a soft kiss on my lips.

I felt so happy, I was being celebrated by the people that mean the world to me. Soon we were dancing eating and drinking and Kyle decided to say a little speech. He talked about how we met, how he trained together and how he fell in love with him.

My eyes welled up again for the second time that evening as I listened to him.

He walked towards me and then he went down on one knee and held my hand.

"Lyra, will you make me the happiest man by agreeing to be my wife?" he asked as the entire place lit up with the words "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" boldly written. "Yes, Yes I will," I nodded as tears rolled down my cheeks.

Everyone cheered and clapped.

...

"You said he will marry me!" Kiera said with tears in her eyes.

"And he will," he said with a calm voice.

"He just proposed to Lyra," Kiera spat.

"I am very much aware and I am telling you, that he will marry you," he smiled.
