Chapter 89: The Return And Reckoning

Have you ever felt like you are just floating and you don't want to stop, have you ever been in so much pain that you want it to stop but it doesn't instead it just increases by the minute? Have you ever felt like you want to give up but you can't because so many people are counting on you? That is how I feel. Mother held on to me and she cuddled me as I fell apart in her arms, sobbing continuously as I thought about what the future will entail and how I was so not ready for it.

After I had calmed down, she pat my back and told me I should go into the my body back.

"The ritual is complete," the scribe virgins said as I enter into my body and the once cold body started to warm up again.

I opened my eyes and I met the eyes of grand nan that was stained with tears.

"Welcome back sweet heart," she said as she hugged me.

I hugged her back sobbing for no reason in particular as I knew I was going to have to come back and kill the man that I had know my entire life as my father, because I promise my mother.

"You can leave now and concerning the deal we made, the curse is lifted from your lineage," the scribe sisters said to me and I left the woods and as soon as I left the territory, I felt myself tear through the barrier and it looked like I left my life behind but I continued walking forward.

I entered the human world and I looked for Annabel and she lived exactly where mother sad she would be.

I entered and she nodded at me and took me to a room where I showered and changed.

"Here is your passport and your flight ticket. It leaves tomorrow and when you get there, go to Bella's inn and give them this," she handed me a card.

"You will be given a job and when you are ready, you can go to the wolf's territory to present yourself," she said to me and I went to my room.

That night I could not sleep as I thought about my life and what it will be become and all of the uncertainties that comes with venturing into a new wolf's territory. I could be treated badly and be turned to an omega or worse they could kill

me.

These past few days have been hell, the humans have a certain kind of smell that itches my nose and they are very loud. Some of them are also very rude and that irks me. Like you could be a better person but you chose to act like an asshole. That is really stupid but then most of them are stupid. I have been so close to losing my cool multiple times today already but Bella warned me that won't be the right thing to do.

I walked back to the inn following the short cuts Bella took me through. The place smelled very bad and there we a group of men smoking and drinking while talking loudly.

I wanted to ignore them and walk past but I saw all of them gathered around a lady who looked like she was pleading for her life.

"Sandra, where is our money," he tallest among them spat.

"I ... I.. I will give you please," she said shaking.

"We need it now Sandra. We have waited for too long," another one sneered.

"I know, I would have given you today but my boss hasn't paid yet," she said with a whimper.

"You told us you needed our money for your mother's hospital bills and we gave it to you, now you need to pay us back and you are taking to much time," the man said as he walked towards her looking ready to pounce on her. "Please, please will give you your money back. I just need a little bit more time," she said as she started crying.

The man moved closer to her and she started sobbing as the man stood before her.

"We will teach you a lesson that shows you what we do to our debtors and after that you will give us our money tomorrow or we will end you. Do you get that?" the man shouted.

"Y.. Yes," she nodded quickly.

"Alright then, birdy get rid of her dress," the man instructed one of the guys who moved forward to the girl.

"Stop that now," I said suddenly feeling enraged.

"Who the fuck and you and what gives you the right to talk to us in that tone. I will blow out your fucking head," the leader of the gang said.

I looked him straight in the eye and told him, "You wouldn't dare,"

"Go now," I said to the lady and she got up and ran away.

"Do you have a death wish?" the man asked me and I didn't wait for him to say anything else when I landed a perfect blow on his face and I heard a nice crack that gave me the confirmation that I have broken his nose. "Lesson number one, you don't treat women like that regardless of how much they owe you," I said as the other gang members rushed towards me.

I had fun breaking their bones and not hurting any vital parts of their body. I knew they will spend a lot of time in the hospital and they will be very sore.

I dusted my clothes and continued on my way.

"Lyra how could you do that? this is not the werewolf world nor territory where you just beat up random rogue wolves. This is the humans territory, those are very dangerous gang members they will look for you and if they replace out that you are a were wolf that would give them more reason to kill you!" Bella grabbed her hair.
