Women and children started to run around, in fear. The elders and the warriors were quick to gather in front of the pack house. Cade was already barking away orders. Hailey too was trying her best to calm the elders and children down and lead them towards the basement of the pack house, where they would be the safest.

Elder Barron too had to join the rest of the elders. Gerald also decided to help them. He now could use his powers to defend his pack. The opal will have to wait.

Soon, the huge army of vampires invaded the pack, slashing their claws and crushing the bones of whoever attacked them. The strength of vampires were certainly not a match for the werewolves. The whole place was soon a b***d bath and the warriors who attacked them were easily defeated. It was clear that the vampires were stronger than the werewolves, even in their wolf form.

Cade fought with the elders, his father by his side. Gerald made sure that he had formed a protective barrier so that Cade will be protected from their attacks. He chose to stay close to his son. He wanted to make sure that Cade was safe at all cost. Hailey too took part in the fight. She was strong and well trained. However, the elders and the acting Luna and alpha were soon surrounded by the vampires. Gerald too was among them. Hailey stopped attacking as soon as she saw that they were clearly outnumbered.

“Well…hello. So we meet.” King Richard stepped forward. “I just want the opal which rightly belongs to us. Give it and I will leave.” He spoke.

Cade frowned, confused while elder Barron and Gerald glared at him.

“Oh I know that the opal is here. Don’t lie and say you don’t know where it is.” The king added his voice solemn as his eyes bright red.

“What are you talking about?” Cade questioned, as his eyebrows knitted together.

“Ask your father.” David growled as he stepped forward from the crowd. His eyes also were glowing like two rubies as he glared at his ex best friend.

“David!” Cade gasped.

“Hi. You do remember your ex best friend, don’t you?” David spat at him and slowly transformed in to his lycan.

Hailey, gasped when she saw David. He was here! He was alive! A small smile formed on her lips which she hastened to hide. She knew that this was not the right time for that.

“Dad….what are they saying?” Cade asked. “What opal?”

Gerald was already seething as he glared at those who surrounded them. He showed no remorse, nor any signs of innocence. He just continued to maintain eye contact with the vampire king who he thought was insolent enough to invade his territory.

“Give me our opal!” king Richard roared.

“Never!” elder Barron roared back and suddenly morphed in to his wolf, a huge black one. Gerald too transformed and attacked, but he was fought off by the vampire guards who were trying their best to protect their king.

Finn’s eyes rested on his ex friend Cade who was also fighting along side his father. After letting out a ferocious roar he advanced at Cade’s wolf. He grabbed on to the fur on it’s back lifting him up, and threw him away. Cade wolf whimpered in pain as he landed a good distance away from the others. Finn sprinted towards him and kicked him in the ribs.

“Face me you coward. How dare you fight with them after you realise that they had stolen the opal!” he roared.

Cade’s wolf stood up and glared at Finn. Suddenly he morphed back to his human form and soon Cade was standing in front of him.

“Morph back and fight me like a man a*****e!” he growled. “I hate you David. I hate you so f*****g much.”

“Morph back and fight me like a man a*****e!” he growled. “I hate you David. I hate you so f*****g much.”

Finn smirked at him, but slowly morphed back. He knew, David would beat his a*s without any problem.

“Oh. Why do you hate me?” David asked innocently.

“You are nothing but a curse! But you get to be alpha! I am better than you. I deserve to be alpha. You are not even like us. You have no right to be alpha. I am alpha. Me!” Cade screamed.

David started to laugh.

“So why don’t you prove it by beating me. I challenge you ‘alpha’. If you manage to kill me you continue being alpha. But if not, I will snatch that from you.” He warned in a mocking tone.

“fine.” Cade murmured and advanced at David.

David growled and attacked. Both of threw punches and kicks, but soon David started to feel bored with playing around. With sudden move, he grabbed Cade’s arm and cracked it. Cade screamed in pain, gaining Gerald’s attention, who was still fighting against the vampires alongside elder Barron.

With wide eyes, Gerald’s wolf ran towards them. He knew that without his protection barrier, Cade will get hurt. But Gerald was too late. David grabbed his head and cracked it in an unnatural way, breaking it and killing him on the spot. Gerald skid to a halt as Cade limp body fell at David’s feet.

He was gone. His only son. He was killed right in front of him. He morphed back to his human form and approached his dead body.

“Cade!” he whispered, his heart breaking in to tiny pieces. A whole year had passed with swing him. And when he did, it was time to say goodbye. David glared at Gerald, narrowing his eyes at him. There he was face to face with the one he really wanted to kill. He wanted to kill him for murdering his grandma. How dare he stab him in the back. How dare he do anything so despicable.

David’s eyes glowed red. Finn was trying to take over as Gerald stood up and turned towards David, his face now contorted in anger.

“You….you killed him!” he bellowed.

“All is fair in love and war…isn’t it Gerald. And you killed my grandma. So I think we are even!” David’s voice was gruff and deep. Finn was partially in control.

“Wh…..what?” Gerald gasped, his eyes wide with surprise.

David clenched his fists and gritted his teeth as he continued to glare at his Grandma’s murderer. He chose to stay silent and let Gerald realise that he now knew what he had done.

Gerald face him completely and narrowed his eyes.

“So you know.” He stated and to David’s surprise, he started to mutter incoherent words. Suddenly the atmosphere got cold and gusts of wind started to blow. Soon there was a whirlwind surrounding David and Gerald.

Confused David looked around and stepped back. But the wind was too strong for him to make much movement.

“What is going on?” David asked Finn.

“The dark magician! He is the dark magician! He is summoning his powers!” Finn replied.

David’s eyes grew wide. “Now what?” he asked.

“We have to inhibit his powers. There is no other we can overpower him. But for that we need the flower of purity that grows in the wilderness.” Finn replied.

“We can’t go looking for a flower now!” David screamed in despair.

The strength of the whirlwind got stronger and David crouched down, trying to stay safe. He glanced at Gerald. To his dismay, he was levitating, while his eyes were completely black. He was still uttering some words in a foreign language that he didn’t understand. Whatever this was, David knew this meant bad news.

“Morph back and fight me like a man a*****e!” he growled. “I hate you David. I hate you so f*****g much.”

If Gerald succeeds in doing what he wants, it is possible for the whole magical world to be destroyed. David started to move his hands around desperately trying to reach and hold on to something around him. Perhaps a stone to throw at Gerald to distract him. But the force of the wind made it almost impossible. The dust that had settled on the ground and the leaves of the trees were now swirling around them in the air.

In his frantic attempt to grab something, his hands brushed against the bulge in his pockets.

The bundle of cloth the seer gave him! David quickly placed his hands in to the pocket and took it. Perhaps it was time to use it. He untied it. However, David was not able to look what was inside. The wind speed made it almost impossible to even open his eyes.

Suddenly the chaos died down. But when David opened his eyes, he saw that Gerald had transformed in to something he never saw. David was petrified to see Gerald in his supreme form. His muscles bulged out while there was some thing written in a foreign language all over his skin. His regular tan skin now had a tiny of red in it.

“You killed my son!” his voice was so powerful that it surprised everyone. Gerald slowly hovered toward David who was shocked to the core.

“Quick open the bundle!” Finn urged.

David hastened to open it.

“What! These are just…. These look like purple glitter.” He frowned. Gerald was almost above him when David looked up.

Gerald was about to strike David with all his might when David felt the strange urge to throw the contents of the bundle on him. Acting on impulse, he threw it at Gerald. To his surprise, Gerald froze for a minute.

Then he started to tremble and shudder as he slowly descended on to the ground. David watched in awe as Gerald slowly changed back to his true form. When he did, Gerald gasped and looked around.

“No! It cannot be! How… How did you get the pixie’s dust that fed from the flower of purity?” he demanded.

Smirking, David extended his claws and slashed across his chest making a deep gash in Gerald’s flesh. He started to scream in pain. But David grabbed his tongue and cut it, making the b***d ooze out of his mouth.

“A magician is useless without his tongue.” He growled.

David glared in to his eyes which was now filled with fear. Memories of how he was framed for his grandma’s death slowly flooded back making David growl in anger. He didn’t loose anymore time. With just one slash of his sharp claws, his head was severed and his body fell lifeless on to the ground, soaking the earth beneath his limp body.

David looked around. The king was holding elder Barron by his neck. Still trying to make him give him the opal back. When he denied, the king wrapped his arms around him, crushing his ribs with force. They have won. It was final. The bodies of all those who fought them were strewn all over the place which included the elders and the seniors of the pack.

David scoffed as he approached Carol, who had killed a fair share of the warriors who attacked her.

“David!” Hailey’s voice made him freeze. David’s eyes searched Carol’s who was looking at the girl who just called her beloved’s name.

“Who is that?” she asked. David turned around. There stood the girl he thought was the one for him. His first mate.
