Return Of The Prodigy -
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 28
Once the farce was over, and Mr. Hamilton was invited by the Mayor for coffee.
Robert left silently.
Eva and Jackson were dragged away by the security guards. They were so weak that they couldn't even stand.
As they were being dragged away, the two of them muttered like fools, "This is impossible, this is impossible..."
Seeing their fate, everyone couldn't help but shudder. Fortunately, they reacted quickly, distancing themselves from the Crawford family; otherwise, they would have ended up like the Crawford family! Still, who was that young man?
How was he able to invite Mr. Hamilton?
What was relationship between him and Mr. Hamilton?
Many doubts filled the minds of the onlookers, and they couldn't help but turn their heads to look.
Adam was chatting and laughing with the four security guards, looking completely unaffected, as if everything that happened today had nothing to do with him.
"Sir, thank you for today."
"You made us understand that 'life' is not just 'alive.""
"Yes, a life without 'soul' is just a walking corpse."
The four security guards thanked Adam one after another. Although they lost their jobs, their eyes were shining, and their spirits were completely different from before. Adam smiled, "You are all veteran, and I couldn't bear to see it. But don't worry about jobs; Katie, why not let them work with you for the security management?" Katie, holding Annie, was in shock throughout.
What happened today was too surreal, like a movie. She hadn't snapped out of it yet.
"Ah? What did you just say?"
Adam said, "I said let them work with you. You can take care of the security management of the vacation manor in the future."
"Oh, uh..." Katie's expression dimmed, and she smiled bitterly, "I was fired, so I'm not in charge of that project anymore."
Adam shook his head, "Everything depends on you. With your abilities, I believe you can do it. Have you forgotten why Robert signed a contract with Hartleys Group back then?"
Katie was stunned. At that time, Robert valued her work ability, believing that she could build a good vacation resort. If Robert was dissatisfied with Peter, he would ask Hartleys Group to change the person in charge... So, she still had hope?
"Alright. How about you leave me your phone numbers? If there are job opportunities, I'll contact you within two days," Adam said.
The four security guards immediately reported their phone numbers without hesitation, expressing their thanks again.
After seeing them off, Adam sighed, "Let's go. Find a place to have a meal. I didn't expect transferring kindergarten to be so troublesome." Katie looked at Adam with complex expression.
She wanted to say that a normal school transfer wouldn't be this troublesome, but was this even a school transfer? He alarmed the business district and the official circle of Lisle, even the richest man from the provincial capital came in a helicopter. Where in the world would there be such a school transfer?
"Um... Did you invite Robert and Mr. Hamilton?" Katie couldn't help asking.
Adam nodded, "Yes, I saved Mr. Hamilton's life before."
He lied about Mr. Hamilton's identity.
It's not that he didn't want to tell Katie; it's just that this matter was too complicated. He could tell her about his identity as "Drake the Dragon," but he chose to conceal the blood feud from six years ago and his true identity!
He didn't want to involve Katie and his daughter because even with his current "Drake the Dragon" identity, he didn't dare to guarantee a successful revenge!
He just wanted to give Katie and his daughter a peaceful and happy life. All the darkness, all the blood feuds, he would bear them alone!
"You saved Mr. Hamilton's life?" Katie asked, half-believing.
Adam explained, "Yes, once Mr. Hamilton visited our war zone to meet our leaders. He drank a bit and had a hypertensive crisis in the night. I was the first to discover it and sent him to the hospital."
"Is that so?" Katie frowned and asked, feeling that something was wrong, but she couldn't figure out what was wrong.
"Okay, but do you know how big the chance is to make Mr. Hamilton owe you a favor? Many people dream of it. I can say that as long as Mr. Hamilton says a word, you won't have to worry about eating and drinking for the rest of your life with the possibility of millions, even tens of millions. Yet, you're using it to help Annie transfer schools..."
"No, the more I talk, the more it hurts. I can't bear it. Do you know that with just a word from Mr. Hamilton, the Hartleys's attitude toward us could make a 180-degree turn, not to mention the responsibility for the vacation estate. The Hartleys would willingly offer it up." Katie said with a wry smile and tears in her eyes.
Adam comforted her with a smile, "You and our daughter are the most precious to me. For you two, not to mention millions or billions in favors, I wouldn't even blink an eye."
"Besides, I've said that the vacation resort project is yours. No one can snatch it away. Just relax."
Katie rolled her eyes helplessly and said angrily, "It's easy for you to say!"
At this moment, Annie excitedly opened her little arms and shouted, "Daddy, hug, Daddy hug."
Adam picked up Annie.
Smack.
Annie leaned in and gave Adam's face a happy kiss, saying, "Daddy, you were so cool just now. Annie is so happy, really likes it."
Adam happily rubbed his chin against the little girl's cheek.
Annie immediately giggled and dodged, "Hehe, no, Daddy's beard is prickly..."
The family walked and chatted happily, then casually found a restaurant nearby, had a joyful meal, and when it was over, Katie took out her purse to pay the bill. Eh? My phone was... switched off all day?
Katie shook her head, realizing why she had received no calls today.
As the phone was turned on, the sound of notifications echoed nonstop.
Katie's face changed when she saw that there were more than a thousand missed calls and text messages.
After a quick look, she saw that they were either from Peter or from her parents.
What's going on?
Katie was deep in thought when her phone vibrated in her hand. It was a call from Peter.
