Chapter 1052 Besse Leaves

The next day, Doyle underwent a physical examination. On the third day, all of his test results came back normal. He could be discharged at any time. Naturally, Doyle didn't want to spend another second in the hospital and requested to be released immediately. Besse accompanied him and went through the procedures, which was just signing a document confirming his discharge. Other matters were taken care of by someone else so they didn't waste too much time.

By 10 AM, they had left the hospital. Besse was using a crutch due to her broken leg, which would take at least three months to heal before she could walk again on it.

"Susan," she called out reluctantly as Susan and Manuel saw them off to their car.

Doyle arranged for a private plane back to Jolencami and it was already parked at the Capital International Airport.

"Are you sure you don't want us to send you off?" Susan asked hoping for more time together with her.

Besse shook her head, not wanting any more emotional goodbyes at the airport, where she felt it would be too much for her.

"Do we need anyone else sending us off?" She joked but there was some truth in it as well because, after last time's accident, Queen Carol had brought over 10 professional bodyguards from Jolencami, who were now providing full protection for them along with Oscar's people. They made up quite an impressive convoy of vehicles that seemed never-ending.

"Oscar is afraid something might happen again so he sent extra people," Susan commented.

Besse nodded understandingly but didn't want any further details about it either way.

"I gotta go, Susan. Good bye." Besse said with a smile and was about to turn around.

"Send me an invitation when you get married. Unless I'm having labour, I'll attend your wedding!" Susan mentioned it again in case Besse forgot it. "I will."

But Besse was even not sure if there would be a wedding. She sat in the car with Doyle. Then they drove off.

Oscar watched everything from above on the balcony. He saw she leaned against another man's chest smilingly and left. Salem stayed with Oscar. His eyes were red-rimmed while watching Besse leave. "Dad, why can't we go see her off?" asked Salem.

Oscar kept his gaze fixed on the direction in which the car had driven away.

"Because I don't want to disturb her." Said he.

She already had a new life.

Salem didn't understand some things. He only knew that after Besse left, he would miss her for a very long time.

"Time to go?" Theodore walked over from behind and asked nonchalantly.

Oscar ignored Theodore, while his eyes continued to gaze at the line of vehicles that had already disappeared.

"There's not even a shadow to be seen, why bother looking?"

"Are you free?" Oscar asked.

"That's not the case," Theodore quickly chuckled nervously.

If he said yes, Oscar would keep him busy as hell.

"I have something to attend to and may leave her for a few days," Theodore replied.

"What's the matter?"

"It's nothing major, just a personal matter," Theodore hesitated and didn't want to say it.

Oscar didn't ask much either. He kept staring out of the floor-to-ceiling window at the long street, with his eyes fixed on it.

"Anyway, now it's up to you to handle the official business." Theodore began making excuses.

Oscar claimed to be hospitalized for recuperation during this period, but he worked longer hours than usual every day. Theodore didn't know why he was working so hard.

Later on, he reconsidered, it could be that Oscar was numbing himself with work to leave himself no time to think about anything else.

"Then I'll go?" Theodore asked cautiously when Oscar didn't say anything.

Oscar remained silent, which was generally an acquiescence.

Theodore breathed a sigh of relief and then left Oscar's hospital room.

As soon as he walked out of the hospital room. Theodore urgently asked his assistant next to him, "What time is the flight?"

"It's 11:30, sir."

"Hurry up, hurry up."

"The vehicle has been arranged and is waiting for you downstairs. Now barring any unforeseen circumstances, you will make it to the airport in time."

"If I don't, I'll kill you."

"..." The assistant expressed innocence.

The person who was wasting time was not him.

Theodore got into the car and urged the driver to hurry to the airport. After arriving at the airport, Theodore went to check in with his assistant.

"I am sitting in the economy class, right?" The assistant looked at the ticket in his hand with a hint of sadness. No matter when he travelled for business, he usually took a private jet. If it was not possible to take a private jet, he still flew first class with Theodore.

Theodore glanced at him and said, "Stop complaining. I didn't make you run around down there, so consider yourself lucky."

When Theodore boarded the plane, it was already quite late. He was the last passenger to board. He sat in his seat and looked over at a seat that was a bit further away. Theodore called over a flight attendant and said, "Can you help me change seats?"

The flight attendant recognized Theodore at first glance and quickly responded, "Mr Wold, which seat would you like to switch to? I can ask other passengers for you." Theodore pointed to a seat and the flight attendant quickly agreed.

In no time at all, the other passenger agreed to switch seats with him. When he came over to exchange seats with Theodore, he nervously shook hands with him and expressed how honoured he was to be able to switch seats with him.

Theodore exchanged pleasantries before walking towards his new spot next to Little Bunny, who had been sleeping since boarding the plane wearing an eye mask.

She had just finished filming late last night so she hadn't gotten much rest before boarding her flight today, where she planned on getting some sleep before arriving on set for hair and makeup. Theodore sat next to her for quite some time without being noticed by her, which made him somewhat annoyed. He thus made some noise intentionally to cause her discomfort.

Little Bunny was not the type who could fall asleep easily anywhere. So she was woken up.

As she took off her eye mask readying herself to tell whoever beside her to be quiet, she froze in shock when she saw Theodore.

"Surprised?" asked Theodore with a smug face.

No... she was more terrified.

Why would he suddenly appear here? And why did he sit right beside her?

She remembered clearly that someone else had been sitting there earlier.

"Are you shocked by my presence?" asked Theodore mischievously.
