There was indeed some doubt about Ned’s car accident.

He was also doubtful of Skylar’s changing attitude toward him. Didn’t she say he was Joe Martin and that she wanted to treat him as Joe’s stand–in?

Rosa felt relieved when Ned didn’t continue questioning her.

She thought to herself that as long as they left Jipsburg, everything would go back to the way it was before. Once back in Murida, she would replace various ways and reasons to prevent Ned from returning.

the scene.

“Why did you come to visit so suddenly? Planning to give me a surprise?”
