Salute To The General -
Chapter 3616 The Holy Knights
Despite the beefy man exerting all his strength and his face turning beet red, he could not pull the trigger, not even the slightest.
"Are you done fooling around?" Colin asked coldly.
After saying that, he abruptly exerted force.
Crack!
Shockingly, Colin snapped the wrist of the beefy man.
Amidst the gasps of surprise from the people around, Colin effortlessly snatched the pistol and skillfully twirled it twice in his hand. Then, gripping the barrel tightly, he gave it a fierce spin. Thud!
The butt of the gun brutally smashed into the face of the beefy man.
With that blow, the beefy man's facial bones were shattered, spewing out fresh blood mixed with half a mouthful of teeth. His massive body was sent flying diagonally, crashing heavily to the ground. Inside the tavern, everyone, be it vampires or humans, was stunned by Colin's move, collectively gasping in surprise.
Immediately, their gazes upon Nathan no longer held the eager anticipation they had earlier as if looking at a plump sheep. Instead, it was replaced with a sense of reverence.
It was clear to everyone that Nathan and his group were not to be trifled with.
The companions of the beefy man quickly rushed over, supporting the severely injured man as they beat a hasty retreat.
The crowd at the scene burst into laughter, mocking the beefy man for messing with the wrong people.
Soon, the waiter had thoroughly cleaned and removed the bloodstains on the ground.
The patrons in the tavern continued to drink, returning to their usual demeanor.
It was the survival of the fittest there.
A person lacking in abilities might get robbed or killed there. Their blood might even be drained and sold to the vampires.
However, if one possessed strength, no one would dare to provoke them.
Nathan, Penny, and the others continued to drink together.
He narrowed his eyes, remarking casually, "Even though this tavern is filled with lower-ranking vampires and third-rate humans, they seem to be getting along quite well! It's not as the news portrays, with mutual hostility and slaughter..." Before he could finish speaking, a commotion came from outside.
Shortly after, a vampire burst in and
informed the other vampires in the
tavern, "Bad news! The Holy Knights, leading a massive crowd, have started a protest march in the Neutral Zone. They oppose
coexistence with vampires, planning to fight and kill us all at sight. Queen Hepburn has issued an order stating that we vampires mustn't linger in the Neutral Zone. She commands us to return to Scarlet Land
immediately."
Upon hearing these words, the lower-ranking vampires in the tavern were frightened and promptly got up to leave.
In fact, per the agreement between vampires and humans, only vampires who received permission from the Earth Alliance, registered with the alliance, and were under its supervision were allowed to enter human society. Other vampires, without permission, were not allowed to leave Scarlet Land.
Once they left Scarlet Land, they would no longer be protected.
However, many lower-ranking vampires, unable to obtain enough fresh blood in Scarlet Land and unable to bear the loneliness, often venture into the Neutral Zone. There, they traded with human merchants, indulged in debauchery, and even purchased blood packs.
At this moment, after hearing that the largest anti-vampire organization, the Holy Knights, was leading a protest march to the Neutral Zone, these lower-ranking vampires, terrified, fled in panic. They would only be safe by fleeing the Neutral Zone and returning to Scarlet Land.
Nathan could not help but frown as he observed the vampires scattered in all directions, creating a chaotic scene.
He reached out to grab an elderly man passing by, asking, "You're not a vampire, are you? Why are you running?"
The elderly man asked anxiously,
he
"You're all new here, aren't you? For your information, these Holy Knights are actually the remaining members of the Curia. They despise vampires and are inciting public sentiment bewitching people to hate vampires. Wherever their protest march goes, destruction follows! Any vampire caught by them is doomed. We, the humans mingling with the vampires in these Neutral Zones, are not well-liked by them. If things go south, they might even kill us. So you'd better hurry up and run, or you'll get caught up in the disaster."
Nathan furrowed his brows.
