Saving His Feral Mate
Chapter 11: I brought you dinner

Alpha Knox POV

I was woken up by a knock at the door. I g***n in irritation, wondering who the hell was waking me up. I looked over at my alarm clock and saw that it was 1:00pm. I was still tired, I didn’t actually make it to bed until 4:00am and I spent most of the time tossing and turning.

“What?” I asked, without even trying to hide the irritation in tone.

“Alpha, the Luna sent me to let you know, that your guests have arrived and are waiting for you downstairs.” I heard one of the omegas announce, from the other side of the door.

“Let her know that I’ll be down shortly.” I replied, with a huff.

I dropped my head dramatically into my pillow, I really wasn’t in the mood to meet anyone, especially not women that are trying to become my chosen mate.

I knew if I didn’t play along with my mother’s game, I’d never hear the end of it, so I got out of bed. I had a quick shower, before getting dressed in a pair of ripped jeans and a black T-shirt.

The quicker I meet them, the quicker I can send them home, I thought to myself.

I made my way downstairs and into the living room. There were three women sitting on the couch with my mother having tea.

I vaguely recognized them from other packs, but haven’t got a clue what their names are. They all turned to look at me when I entered the room. I could see the hunger in their eyes, as they practically eye f****d me shamelessly in front of my mother. Don’t get me wrong, they were all beautiful women, but I wasn’t interested in the slightest.

“Son, I would like you to meet, Sabrina, Tanya and Melanie. They are all mateless and came here to meet you.” My mother said, while motioned with her hand to each woman, as she said their name.

The one that my mother introduced as Sabrina, had long brown hair and green eyes, she was tall and slim.

Tanya, had shoulder length black hair and brown eyes. She was short and curvy.

Melanie, had long blond hair and blue eyes. She was average height with a slim, yet muscular body.

“It’s nice to meet you, ladies.” I greeted, with a nodded and put on the best fake smile I could muster.

“Call me Mel, I look forward to getting to know you, Alpha.” Melanie said, in a seductive voice.

“Alpha, maybe I can cook dinner for you tonight, so we can get to know each other.” The woman named Tanya suggested, with a charming smile. Before I could even reply, Sabrina spoke.

“When you get a chance Alpha, I would love a tour of your territory.” She said, while giving me a seductive look.

“Of course ladies, you will all get a chance to spent time with my son, over the next three days.” My mother answered for me, glancing between the she-wolves and I, with a satisfied look on her face. I froze at the mention of three days. s**t, there’s no way I’ll survive three days with these she-wolves around.

“If you’ll excuse me, ladies. I have work to do.” I said, before walking off towards my office. I couldn’t get away from them fast enough.

I let out a relieved sigh, when I reached my office and closed the door behind me. Maybe I should tell my mother that I found my mate and put an end to all this. I don’t want to waste their time, as much as I don’t want to waste my own.

I sat down behind my desk and was about to look over some documents, when there was a knock at the door.

“Come in” I announced.

The door opened, before Jag and Joseph walked in.

“So, how did the meet and greet go?” Jag asked curiously.

“Like expected, I felt like a piece of meat that was thrown into a shark tank.” I replied, earning me a chuckle from both Jag and Jo.

“Hey, I’ll take one for the team and throw my meat at them.” Jo joked, but deep down inside, I knew he would actually do it.

“You, just keep you meat in your pants.” I replied, while shaking my head and chuckling at him.

“Serious, why does every conversation with you, have something to do with your d**k?” Jag asked, while also shaking his head in disapproval. Jo simply shrugged his shoulders, while grinning proudly.

“On another note, I need some help from you guys.” I said, drawing both there attention back to me. They didn’t say anything and simply waited for me to continue.

“I want supplies put together, non-perishable food, fruit, veggies, medical supplies. Basically, anything that you can’t get access to in the forest.” I instructed.

“If your trying to win over that old lady, good luck. She was practically trying to make your head explore, when she glared at you. I don’t see her inviting you over for dinner anytime soon.” Jag teased, while chuckling.

“You just wait. She’ll be inviting me over for Sunday night dinners, in no time.” I replied, sounding more confident than I actually was. He was right, her hatred towards me was something else. Getting her to warm up to me, isn’t going to be an easy task.

“I’m coming with you. There’s no way I’m going to miss watching her tell you off, again.” Jag said, with an amused tone.

“Of course you’re coming. Who else is going to carry all the supplies?” I replied, with a smirk and watched as the smug look on his face fell.

“Sucker.” Jo laughed.

“What are you laughing at? You’re also coming. I noticed they were getting low on firewood, you can chop some more for them.” I said, while directing my words to Jo. His smile also quickly faded.

“Damn it!” Jo grumbled to himself.

“You guys get the supplies ready, make sure to pack enough for a couple of weeks. I’m going to get a few things ready for my mate. I’ll meet you guys out front in an hour.” I instructed. They both nodded their heads, before leaving my office.

I went over some documents that required immediate attention, before heading to my room.

I grabbed a large duffel bag from my closet and filled it up with a few things for my mate. I really hope I can get her to warm up to me, this stuff might help, I thought to myself.

I made my way to the kitchen and packed dinner for my mate and I. She might not eat with me, but the least I can do is try. I was just finishing up, when I heard a female voice coming from behind me.

“Alpha, fancy running into you here.” She said and I knew right away it was Sabrina, one of the she-wolves from earlier.

“I was actually on my way out.” I said, as I turned around to face her. She was dressed in a black Pencil skirt and a sheer pink blouse, that left nothing to the imagination. She was leaning her elbows on the kitchen Island, giving me a clear view of her overly exposed cleavage.

“That’s to bad, I was hoping we could get to know each other a little better.” She said with a pout, before walking towards me and running her hand down my chest. I had to hold in a growl, I really didn’t want her touching me.

“Sorry, I’m busy.” I replied, while removing her hand from my chest and leaving the kitchen, before she could say anything further.

I quickly made my way outside, trying to avoid the other she-wolves.

“You guys ready?” I asked, as I spotted both Jag and Jo standing by a couple boxes.

“Yup. I think we got enough supplies to last them a year.” Jag joked.

Good, let’s get out of here before I run into another one of those she-wolves.” I replied and we made our way to the forest.

The trip to the cabin took us longer than usual, we couldn’t shift with all the boxes we had to carry.

“Oh for f**k sakes, what do you want now?” The old woman blurted out, when she saw us walking towards the cabin.

“It’s nice to see you again.” I replied, completely ignoring her hostility towards me.

“f*****g Alpha’s, I swear you’re all born without a brain.” I heard her grumble to herself, but decided to ignore her words.

We put the boxes down by the porch, as the old man came out of the cabin and stood by his mate.

“What’s that?” She asked with a frown, nodding towards the boxes.

“A few things I thought you could use.” I replied, with a casual shoulder shrug.

“I don’t want your damn charity.” She spat out angrily.

“Well, we aren’t taking it back. That shits heavy.” I replied and listened to her curse several times under her breath.

I walked to the side of the cabin, where there was a little tool shed.

“Where do you think you’re going?” She questioned, while crossing her arms over her chest.

“To get an axe.” I replied.

When I found the axe, I handed it to Jo. I saw his shoulders sag, but he knew better than to argue. He quickly started chopping rounds of wood, while Jag stacked them neatly into a pile.

I made my way up the porch, with the duffel bag I brought.

“Now what are you doing?” She grumbled.

“I brought a few things for my mate, I don’t want them getting wet if it rains, so I’ll leave them on the porch for her.” I replied, while removing the stuff from the bag.

First, I pulled out my comforter. I know how hard it’s been for me to sleep without my mate next to me, so I thought she could use something that has my scent all over it. Next, I pulled out a 7×10 picture frame, with a picture of myself in it.

I heard the old man snort, when he saw me put the picture down next to the blanket.

“What?! Don’t judge me, I thought she might like to see my face when she wakes up in the morning.” I said, in a slightly offend tone.

The old woman wasn’t scowling at me anymore, now she was looking at me like I needed a mental health checkup. Ok, maybe the picture was a bit much, I admit.

Once I was done setting up a little nesting spot for my mate, I took a seat on the steps and waited impatiently for her to show up. I really hope she does. I’ve missed her like crazy. I never realized, just how strong the mate bond could be until now. She hasn’t said a single word to me and I haven’t even seen her in human form, yet I crave her like a drug.

“You know you’re wasting your time, right? She can’t shift. Do you really want a feral wolf for a mate?” The old woman asked, while casual sweeping the porch around where I was sitting. I knew she was trying to trigger me and I have to admit, it was starting to work.

“The moon goddess made her my mate for a reason, she doesn’t make mistakes.” I replied, in a short tone. The old woman paused and looked at me for a second, she seemed surprised by my words.

“Just don’t hurt her. She didn’t become a feral wolf by living an easy and happy life. I know something must of happened to her, that made her the way she is.” The old woman warned, in a much softer tone. It actually caught me off guard. I looked over and saw tears in her eyes, before she quickly looked away, trying to hide them. Her actions made me want to know what her own story was.

“What’s your name?” I asked and she looked at me confused.

“I just want to know what to call you.” I said, raising my hands up in mock surrender.

“Betty and that’s Tom.” She said and motion to her mate, who was now helping my men stack the firewood.

It was starting to get dark and there was still no signs of my mate. I was starting to get discouraged that I might not get to see her today.

Betty and Tom had gone inside a little while ago. I was happy when they took the supplies in with them. Tom actually looked appreciative, but Betty kept up her cold demeanour. I almost wanted to chuckle every time she glared at me. I could tell the woman didn’t have a mean bone in her body, she was simply putting on an act.

“How long do you want to wait?” Jag asked, as he came and sat down next to me. I let out a frustrated sigh, before replying.

“Let’s give it a few more minutes.” I said, while looking along the tree line, hoping to see her.

‘Ummm…Alpha. I think you mate is back here. Can you come quick.’ Jo said nervously through the mind-link.

I jumped up and ran to the back of the cabin, as fast as I could. Excitement ran through me, at the thought of seeing her.

I frozen when I got around the corner. Jo stood with his pants around his ankles, while my mate stalked towards him like a predator, growling viciously. She was only five feet away at this point and was about to lunge at him.

“It’s ok! He’s one of my men, he’s not going to hurt you.” I blurted out, before she attacked him. She stopped when she saw me and glanced back and forth between Jo and I, relaxing slightly.

“She scared the living s**t out of me. Here I was, taking a piss, minding my own business and bam, she was almost on top of me. She’s a sneaky little minx.” Jo said, while chuckling nervously. He slowly reached down and grab his sweatpants, making sure not to spook her as he lifted them.

“I’m glad you showed up. Are you hungry?” I asked my mate, trying to break through the tension in the air.

She huffed in response and walked past me towards the cabin.

“I’m going to take that as a yes.” I said, as I followed behind her.

Once we reached the front of the cabin, she climbed the stairs to the porch and froze in her tracks, when she saw the nest I made her. I saw her inhale and knew she was picking up my scent on the blanket. She then noticed the picture sitting beside it and I swear I heard her snort. Can wolves even do that?

Once she was done making fun of me, or at least that’s what I’m guessing she was doing in that perfect head of hers, she went to the other side of the porch and laid down. Intentionally laying as far away from my blanket as possible. I was a little disappointed, but kinda expected her to act this way.

“Here, I brought you dinner. I don’t know what you like, but figured I couldn’t go wrong with a rare steak.” I said, as I pulled out the steak from the cooler and put it on a plate, before sliding it in front of her. She growled at me when I got close, but it was different from before, I didn’t feel threatened in the slightest.

I pulled out my own steak from the cooler, mine was medium rare. When I eat in my human form, I like things cooked. If I ever eat in wolf form, then it’s always rare.

Jag and Jo had walked off somewhere, giving me some alone time with my mate. I was appreciative of that.

I started to eat, but she didn’t touch hers.

“Come on, don’t tell me you’re a vegetarian.” I joked. She just watch me with the same serious expression. I swear I saw her eyes lighten up, as if her human side was pushing forward. That caught my attention.

“The blanket’s from my bed, it’s covered in my scent. I haven’t been able to sleep very well since I found you. I thought if the bond was causing you the same problem, this could be helpful.” I explained, in a sheepish tone. I probably sounded like a total dork. She was still looking at me, giving me no insight on what was going through that brain of hers. I sighed and continued to eat.

When I finished eating, I started to put stuff away. My mate looked tired and It was getting late, as much as I didn’t want to leave, I knew I needed to get home.

“I’ll let you get some rest, I’ll be back tomorrow around the same time.” I said and watched her for a reaction, but she didn’t even budge. I let out a defeated sigh, as I walked down the steps. My men had returned while I was cleaning up and were waiting patiently for me.

“It was nice to meet you, Luna.” Jo blurted out nervously, sounding like a total i***t. She growled at his words, causing him to flinch.

“I don’t think she likes me.” Jo whispered, as we started to walk away, causing Jag and I to laugh.

“Hold on a sec.” I said, once we reached the tree line and were hidden amongst the trees. I knew we were far enough away, that she wouldn’t sense our presence anymore.

I watched and waited for a few minutes and sure enough, she stood from where she was laying down on the porch and made her way over to the nest I built her. She sniffed and pawed at the blanket, before flopping down and making herself comfortable on it. A satisfied smile spread across my face, as I realized the bond was affect her, as much as it affect me.
