Clarice's eyes rolled for a moment. Then she turned her head back and stared at Sydney with a jealous face. "You just said that I was the real Clarice and that the paternity test had confirmed it. Then why did Dad suspect you of being Clarice when he saw your press conference? As his daughter, how could I not be angry?"

"So that's how it is." Sydney raised her eyebrows, and the corners of her mouth curled with disdain. "Then I can only say I'm wronged."

Clarice grunted. "And who knows if you will impersonate Clarice after you learn of my father's suspicion?"

"Why should I do that?" Sydney wrinkled her eyebrows and looked at Clarice as if Clarice was a fool.

Clarice bit her lip. "Of course, to cheat my parents and then get back at them."

"Heh, are you stupid or am I stupid?" Sydney rolled her eyes. "Do you think that impersonating is that easy? Even if one can impersonate someone else for a while, they can't fool others for a lifetime. Sooner o later, their trick will be exposed.

Hearing Sydney's words, a great sense of panic instead of happiness came over Clarice.

Sydney was right. The impersonation couldn't last for a lifetime. Sooner or later, it would be uncovered.

Sydney didn't know her identity yet, but that was only a matter of time.

At that time, Clarice would be finished.

So how could Clarice not be afraid?

Sydney saw that Clarice's face suddenly turned pale as if Clarice was scared of something. A trace of doubt surfaced on Sydney's face.

What was the situation?

Sydney thought, "I didn't say much. Why does this woman look so terrified?"

Tilting her head, Sydney didn't think much of it and turned around, thinking that Clarice had a persecutory delusion.

How ridiculous Clarice was! She said that she was afraid Sydney would impersonate Brandon's daughter.

Clarice must be crazy.

When Sydney got back to Skylight, it was already five o'clock, just about the end of the day.

Sydney packed up her things and prepared to go back to Shallow Bay.

Just as she reached the door, the phone in her bag rang.

Sydney stopped and took out her phone to look at it. The name "Julien" was flashing on the screen.

Looking at the flashing name, Sydney had a joyful smile on her face and hastily answered the call, "Hello?"

It turned out that she had become so attached to him now that she was so happy just to receive a call from him.

At the other end of the phone, hearing the woman's voice, Julien curved his thin lips gently. "Have you finished your work?" "Yes, I'm ready to go back." Sydney walked toward the elevator.

"Just in time. I'll wait for you in the parking lot. You can come down." Julien rolled down the window.

Sydney paused in her tracks in surprise. "What? You're in the parking lot? Is it the parking lot under Skylight?"

"Of course." Julien laughed.

His voice was so sexy that it tickled Sydney's ears.

Sydney couldn't help but shrink her neck, her mouth a bit dry. "I'll be right there."

After saying that, she hung up the phone and ran to the elevator.

In the car, Julien looked at the phone in a daze. Then he let out a laugh and put the phone down.

Zach in the driver's seat heard his laughter and looked back, "Mr. Flint, what did Ms. Raines say to you? You're laughing so happily."

Julien looked through the car window in the direction of the elevator in the parking lot and said in a soft voice, "Nothing. She hung up the phone." The corner of Zach's mouth twitched.

Sydney didn't say anything, and she hung up the phone. Really?

Sydney hung up on Julien, but he was so happy. Was he crazy or stupid?

Zach felt puzzled, looking at Julien, who was waiting eagerly for his girlfriend in the back seat.

Sydney didn't keep Julien waiting long before she appeared in Julien's sight.

Seeing Sydney coming out of the elevator, Julien immediately opened the door, got out, and stood next to the car.

Sydney was wondering where Julien had parked the car, but she had just turned her head when she saw him.

He was tall, handsome, and graceful. When he was standing there, everyone immediately noticed him.

Sydney waved at him, gripped her bag, and jogged toward him.

As he saw Sydney getting closer, Julien suddenly opened his arms.

Sydney came to him, paused for a moment, spread her arms with a smile, jumped into his arms, and embraced him.

Zach saw this scene in the car, tutted, and then hurriedly closed his eyes.

What a lovey-dovey couple!

Outside the car, the two people hugged for a while before they reluctantly parted.

Julien took the scarf off his neck and put it around Sydney's.

Sydney wanted to say she didn't need it and tried to take the scarf off, but she was stopped by Julien.

"Wear it!" he said firmly. "Your hands are cold. It can warm you up."

He was so domineering that Sydney had no choice but to put on the scarf. She looked up at the man and smiled. "This scarf was knitted for you, but I wear it more often than you do as if I had knitted it for myself rather than you."

"I wear it less often than you do, but I take it with me every day," Julien said as he adjusted the scarf around her neck.

He was not lying. He carried it with him every day.

Some people in his company talked about it, joking that Julien was broke because he used the same scarf every day.

Julien would not tell them this scarf was better than those designer scarfs.

"Well, let's get in. It's warm in the car." Julien stopped thinking about it. He took Sydney's hand and walked toward the car. Sydney followed him obediently.

As soon as she got into the car, she realized it wasn't Julien but Zach who had driven over. Sydney smiled and said hello to Zach. Zach looked back and smiled in response.

"Let's go." The moment he closed the car door, Julien instructed Zach, who was in the driver's seat.

Zach said yes and started the car.

Sydney put her bag aside and turned her head to look at the man beside her. "By the way, how long have you guys been here?" "Not long. We just arrived when I called you." Julien crossed his legs gracefully.

Sydney blinked. "Then you're here just in time."

Julien let out a laugh. "Because we have one heart. I heard you had gone out this afternoon."

"Who told you that?" Sydney was surprised. She then looked at him suspiciously. "Did you put someone in my place again?" "No." Julien shook his head.

Sydney didn't believe him. "If not, how would you have known I went out? You must have put someone in my place."

Sydney had asked Julien to call back the people he had placed in Skylight last time, except for Dereon in the finance department.

But soon, someone else was sent over.

"No." Once again, Julien defended himself.

Sydney was still not convinced. As she was about to say something, Zach glanced in the rear-view mirror and said, "Ms. Raines, you misunderstood Mr. Flint. He did not plant people in your company. He contacted Sean this afternoon, and Sean told him that."

"You contacted Sean?" Sydney froze for a moment and then looked at Julien.

Julien nodded slightly. "Yes."

"Why did you contact her? If you want to replace me, just call me," Sydney said confusedly.
