Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance -
Chapter 917
Anya shook her head, "No, no, Chad, I really behaved this time."
Leo pulled the person who was about to leave back inside, closed the door, and locked it. "Sit on the bed, let's talk."
...
It was a rough night for all three of them.
Anya hadn't gone home, and Naomi's calls kept coming until two in the morning. After taking a shower at Leo's place, Anya was finally summoned back home by a flurry of persistent calls from her mother-in-law. In the middle of the night, Leo drove Anya to the parking lot to see her off.
When they reached the Cedillo family doorstep, Naomi was already waiting. Seeing Anya with damp hair, Naomi huffed in frustration, "Anya, go inside. Leo, you stay."
Anya obediently slung her backpack over her shoulder and ducked behind the front door.
The night sky was dotted with stars, and the moon hung high, casting a chill over the autumn air, with a slight cold in the night breeze. Naomi, lightly dressed but fueled by anger, didn't feel the cold. "Leo, how did I raise you? Were you really planning on letting Anya stay over tonight?" "Mom, you're overthinking it."
"What am I overthinking? You're a young man; you should show some responsibility. Focus on your studies and future. If Anya were my daughter, I wouldn't let her be with you."
"Mom, Anya is my partner, and I'm in my twenties. I have my own plans."
"Whatever your plans, until you have a stable life and a clear future, you're not to treat Anya poorly." Naomi's voice shook with anger, "Cedillo men are responsible, family-oriented men. Don't bring shame to us."
Leo raised his hands, promising his mom, "Mom, I love Anya more than anything, and I'd never hurt her, okay? You say you won't interfere, but don't get on my case when you do. I will respect and love her." Naomi's anger softened a bit as she looked at her son, "Drive carefully on your way back, eat well. It's chilly in the morning and evening, so dress warmly. Your father and I will visit this weekend."
Leo nodded with a grin, "Alright, got it, Mom. You should head back. I'm leaving, don't worry. And please, don't scold my Anya; she's sensitive."
Anya, eavesdropping nearby, blushed and looked down, feeling even more smitten with Chad.
Hearing the car drive away, Anya quickly scampered back to the living room. Shortly after, Naomi came inside and saw Anya with her hair still wet, "Go dry your hair, or you'll catch a cold. What time is your class tomorrow?" "Aunt Naomi, my class is in the afternoon."
Naomi nodded, "Then you can sleep in a bit."
With Anya back, Naomi felt relieved. Having someone else's child in her home was a responsibility she took seriously. The whole family was on her mind. Hansen was away at a conference with Harry, and Henry had to sleep by himself. Before heading to bed, Naomi checked on her little sweetheart, who was sleeping soundly. She gently stroked Henry's cheek before returning to her bedroom.
The next morning, Andre also slept in, and the maid was already warming up some pure milk for Mia. Seeing Andre, "Mr. Andre, should I wake Ms. Mia?"
Andre glanced at the clock; it was already eight. "I'll wake her up in a bit." First, he went to bring Henry out of bed.
But when he entered the nursery, the crib was empty. "Henry?"
Where had the little rascal wandered off to this time? After searching without success and remembering how much the family doted on his son, he headed downstairs to look.
"Uncle Bruce is leaving, let's give
Uncle Bruce hug and a kiss, and say goodbye." Bruce stood at the door, with the driver waiting, still sharing affectionate moments with his little nephew. Henry had been woken up by family members yet again, at some unknown time.
"Ooohh ba ba." Seeing his father, Henry's chubby body wiggled with excitement.
Andre walked over and scooped up his son, who was full of energy and in a good mood. "Big brother, did you wake him this morning?"
"I went to see him, and as soon as I entered his room, he was rubbing his eyes and crawling on the bed, so I picked him up."
Bruce ruffled his nephew's hair and told Andre, "I'm off."
Naomi, who had gone to bed late, also slept in. Anya, wrapped up in her blanket, was catching up on sleep, while Mia dreamt of getting the better of Andre.
At half-past eight, Mia was woken up by her husband and son's combined efforts. Andre pulled her up, and Henry was a pro at waking people. Wearing his diaper, he stood on the bed, tugging at his mom's hair and trying to nibble on her.
Five minutes later, Mia pushed the little chub away and got out of bed. The early start meant she arrived at the graduate school prep center just as everyone else was starting their class, sneaking in quietly.
Jamie asked, "Mia, why are you so late today?"
Mia replied, "I got bitten by Tiger and scratched by the little tiger."
"???"
Mia shrugged, pulling out her study materials with a yawn, and began staring at the blackboard, her mind wandering. After class, she thought about how to give Leo and Anya, and even Molly, a piece of her mind! Molly had run to her room to sleep in the middle of the night, only for Chad to scoop her up, blanket and all, "Molly, behave."
"Chad, you're such a pain."
But Chad just leaned down to kiss Molly's lips. Later, unable to sleep, Molly started reading aloud the posts she'd written about Chad in the past, don't want to walk with my brother; whenever we're together, people think we're a couple. Some even compliment us on being a perfect match. Konce thought about sticking adabel on my
el.nét
brother's back saying 'He's my brother' and on mine 'I'm his sister' to clear things up. My mom
suggested a set of 'brother' and
'sister' shirts, which I bought, but my brother threw them away."
After reading, Molly turned to see Chad glaring at her, "Chad, I think that person was a fortune teller."
Chad commanded, "Keep reading."
For a moment, Molly regretted ever writing so much, especially since she'd ranted about Chad three or four times a day during their summer and winter breaks when they were together all the time.
"During summer break, my brother
was always bugging me, and every
time he did, I'd run straight to our
parents to tell on him. My mom got so fed up, she told him to hurry
and replace a girlfriend. My brother
declared he wouldn't get married until he was 30. This scared me to death. So, I need to ask: if my brother isn't getting married, can his younger sister go ahead and tie the knot first??"
After saying this, Molly turned to look at her husband, who was staring intently at her. She swallowed nervously, "Kids say the darndest things."
Officer Chad: "..." He had never heard such a thing from a sixteen-year-old before.
