Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love
Chapter 190 Who Are You Here For

"I said I didn't do anything to her! Why won't you believe me?" Charles yelled in a fury. He was so angry that he kicked the chair.

"Come on! Kick it! Kick it hard. But make sure to pay for it." On the other hand, the policeman remained calm, but his voice sounded so firm and full of authority.

As soon as they were brought to the police station, Charles and the girl was placed in separate rooms. However, since the walls were made of glass, the two could clearly see each other. And while the policeman interrogated him, Charles pierced his sharp eyes at her.

The girl didn't even back down. Instead, she flashed him a cunning grin and gestured her hands like she was counting cash.

She was obviously asking for money.

But instead of firing up his anger, he merely smiled with disdain.

'The one who could threaten me had not been born yet in this world!' he thought mischievously while keeping his intent gaze at her.

Meanwhile, Jay was currently driving on his way to the station amidst the dark and the rain.

However, as soon as he arrived, he was stopped by the security guards. "No one is allowed to visit at midnight." "I'm here for someone." Jay took out his ID card and showed it to them. "Oh, Mr. Fang! Who are you here for?" The security guard, who immediately recognized him, asked in surprise.

"Charles Fu! He called me and said he was brought in here."

"Really? I didn't see him," the security guard replied affirmatively.

Charles drove in with the police, so the security guards wouldn't really see him or his car.

Jay didn't know what was going on, but he was certain that Charles was here. Otherwise, why would he call him? There was no way he'd pull a prank on him at this hour.

"I want to see your chief," he demanded with conviction.

"Our chief is off duty tonight, Mr. Fang," replied the guard obstinately, still stopping him from entering.

But nothing could stop Jay at this moment, not even the fact that he was at the police station.

So without thinking twice, he drove in directly, ignoring all the protocols or whatnots.

"What are you doing, sir?!" he heard the guard yell, but it was too late. He already barged inside. Once he stepped foot inside, the policeman on duty was woken up by the commotion. 'Tm looking for the man you caught tonight. Where is he?" Jay directly asked the half-sleepy policeman. He had thought that he could be patient, but right now, he was losing it. 'How could these people be more unreasonable than Doris?!' he wondered to himself.

Stretching to awaken himself, the policeman reasoned out, "The investigation hasn't finished yet. We have to keep him locked in here."

With those words, Jay's patience ran out. Gritting his teeth, he grabbed the man by his collar and threatened, "Take me to see Charles; otherwise, I will fire you tomorrow." "Charles?" At the sudden mention of that name, the officer almost stumbled on his feet. His now widened eyes showcased how sleepiness flew out of his system.

"Yes, Charles Fu!" Jay's voice thundered, causing the policeman to panic even more.

"I'm sorry, sir. I didn't know. He didn't tell us that he is Charles Fu," the poor officer uttered in a daze.

"Cut the crap! Take me to see him now."

With every second that he stayed here without seeing his friend, Jay grew even more anxious.

"Okay, okay, Mr. Fang." The policeman hurried to the room where they had been keeping Charles.

Meanwhile, back in Jay's villa, Doris couldn't fall asleep. She kept tossing and turning on the bed, thinking, 'Where is Jay on such a rainy night?

How could he storm out with just a little misunderstanding?

I am pregnant, and he couldn't even tolerate me!

That jerk! I swear I'll kill him when he gets back!'

The more she thought about it, the more agitated Doris became. In fact, she was even more paranoid, thinking that he had gone to replace comfort in other women.

And as those thoughts ate her up, Doris felt more aggrieved. She couldn't call even Nancy at this time to lash out her feelings, so instead, she searched online, "A married man went out in the middle of the night. What should I do?"

In just one click, countless articles and posts popped up.

"If a man went out late in the night, it's either he was headed to a bar or to replace women."

"Men are trash! If they go out at this hour, they are most likely to visit their side chic."

When she read those posts, Doris' hunch was confirmed.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. So gritting her teeth, she typed, "As a wife, what should I do?"

"Of course, you should be patient. If you don't want to divorce, just pretend that you know nothing. Although you should note that this is unfair to you."

What? A woman like her would never tolerate such a man! She could never let him treat her this way!

"A smart woman would call her man not to quarrel, but to express how she missed him. She should tell him to stay on her side at this hour."

'This one made sense.

But I'd rather die first before I show my weakness!'

Doris thought, scratching her head and heaving a sigh. Then she threw the phone to her side and tossed and turned, trying to fall asleep. After a while, she finally decided to call him.

'He would come back if I call him, right?' She hesitated, stretching her lips to force a smile.

Then Doris tapped the screen of her phone and called him before she changed her mind.

"Why are you still awake?" Jay greeted in an angry tone. He was not mad at Doris, but at the situation in the police station.

"Jay, can you come back? I'm afraid of the heavy rain!" Summoning all her courage and shame altogether, Doris tried to sound so gentle and weak.

'Huh? What did she say? Is this really Doris?'

Jay almost thought he had misheard her. After all, she would never say anything like that to him, or even sound so soft.

"I can't go back." On the contrary, Jay's voice was even colder.

Doris was really acting weird right now, and he didn't know how to respond to that. More than that, the woman was just mad at him before he left the house, and now she suddenly wanted him back? "Where are you right now? The baby misses you so much." Doris tried what she saw on the TV. A spoiled child would always get what it wanted, so she figured she could try that trick too.

And although she was successful, her coquettish voice almost made herself want to vomit.

'But men like it, don't they?'

she asked herself in an attempt to justify why she just did that. It was so out of her character!

On the other line was Jay, who felt that he could not stand her anymore.

"Are you awake, Doris?"

"Yes, absolutely!" she uttered with a smile.

"Maybe it's better if you sleep now. You're pregnant, remember that. If anything happens to the baby because you sleep late, I will beat you!" With these cold words from Jay, he seemed to have ticked a bomb at the impatient Doris.

"Wow! I already acted like a spoiled child for you, and yet you're still talking about the baby! Are you not interested in me anymore, or am I just a machine for you to give birth to children? If you don't come back, I won't eat anything tomorrow morning! I'll starve the baby to death!" Doris continued to lash out without thinking twice. In fact, she didn't even know what she was talking about. The pregnant woman was just so mad at her husband for leaving her alone at this hour.

"You are really shrewd, Doris! If you do not take care of my child, I will not take care of you too! Just wait and see!" Jay equaled her madness. His voice rose to the roof, not minding that he was at a police station.

"I'll be good if you come back. I don't want to be alone at home!" This time, however, Doris sounded more depressed than mad.

"Do you think I don't want to go back? Charles is locked up at the police station, I haven't figured out what's going on. I can't go back unless I bring him out!" Jay yelled out the truth, ignoring her plea. "What?! You at the police station and not with some woman?" At this point, she was already in high spirits, somehow relieved that Jay was not having an affair.

"Damn it! A woman at home is already enough torture. If I replace another one, I'm afraid I'll be dead," he murmured angrily, trying his best not to be heard. "What's wrong with Charles?" Doris asked worriedly, seeming to forget her worries. At the back of her mind, she thought of Nancy.
