Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love -
Chapter 276 Don't Starve The Baby
Doris barely finished talking, when Jay opened the door and walked out.
The only thing that covered his body was a towel around his waist. Most of his chiseled body was exposed and he looked quite ravishing. Doris was suddenly flushed. She swallowed a mouthful of water before saying, "Jay, it's the first time I've found that you're handsome."
With a devilish grin, he said, "Of course I am. Otherwise, how else would I become such a star in this city?"
He then playfully brushed his hair aside.
"Jay, you are so conceited. A star? Are you delusional? I think the only eyes you attract are the older women's," Doris mocked.
"What are you talking about? Every woman likes me, whether young or old!" Jay laughed proudly at the disgusted look on her face.
Doris held her belly tightly with her hands. She was in very obvious discomfort.
"Anyway, there's no time to be jealous now. Go take a shower. I'll go get you something to eat." Jay snapped his fingers, rushing her and then walked out.
Doris stood up lazily but still seemed to be chipper.
She smiled and walked into the bathroom. It seemed that Jay wasn't as awful as she thought.
She didn't expect him to be so helpful and kind. She took out her green silk pajamas but before she could put them on, the door suddenly opened.
"What?" Doris was in such a panic she didn't even think about covering herself up. She just stood in front of Jay, stark naked.
Jay's jaw dropped at the sight of her. Even though she was pregnant, she was absolutely breathtaking.
"Jay, why didn't you knock before you came in?" Doris, still in a panic, covered herself with some clothes. She didn't put them on but just held it against her bare body.
Now Jay was the flustered one. He gulped loudly and was at a loss for words. He stared at her and said, "I... How was I supposed to know? I just came in and saw you like this. You... Aren't you going to change into your pajamas?"
Then he closed the door again.
The stunned Doris finally came to her senses. "You're still here. How can I change now?"
"We are a couple. What's the point in hiding from me?" He quickly realized the bowl in his hand was actually piping hot. He rushed to the bedside table and set it down.
Doris felt like crying but had no tears.
She gritted her teeth and shouted, "Jay! You want to die, don't you?"
"Just hurry up and eat the noodles. My baby is hungry. I feel so bad for it!" Then he sat on the bed and stared at her with a smirk.
Clenching her teeth angrily, she said, "Jay! Just wait and see what happens!"
She then angrily stomped off into the bathroom with her clothes.
She raised her voice in an attempt to try and be intimidating but it seemed completely ineffective. If anything he seemed even more confident. He stood proudly in front of her and didn't even budge. What was the point?
Jay's mind was filled with the image of Doris' standing before him.
"Wait!" A mischievous smile crept on his face. He seemed to be plotting something.
When Doris walked out of the bathroom, she was finally dressed. She stared at him and asked, "What are you looking at?"
'Tm just looking at our baby. Hurry up and eat something, or our baby will starve to death!" said Jay sadly.
"Just because you made the effort to cook, I won't make a fuss." She was in too much pain to argue anyway. Doris quietly raised the bowl to her face and began eating. She took a bite and grinned smugly.
"What? Does it taste bad?" asked Jay. It was the first time he cooked so he was eager to know what he'd done wrong.
"Jay, have a try. Then you can know whether it tastes good or not." Doris handed the bowl to him.
He took a bite and waited to see what was wrong with the taste. He quickly realized the problem, there was no taste at all!
"Just eat a little for the sake of our baby. Your stomach will feel better. What do you say?" Jay said, a little embarrassed.
"Well." Doris had no choice. After all, she would do anything to get rid of this pain in her belly!
However, after eating the noodles, she still felt a sharp pain in her stomach.
Worried, Jay found some stomach medicine for her. "How about taking some stomach medicine?"
"I'm a doctor. I know medicine isn't good for the baby. No way!" With her hands on her stomach, she was in no mood to argue with him. She looked incredibly distressed. Seeing the pain on her face, Jay couldn't help feeling sorry for her.
He shuffled forward and sat on the edge of the bed He raised his hand and gently rubbed her belly as he told her some jokes to cheer her up.
She could have just been cheered up or she could have been distracted but regardless, she was in nowhere near as much pain.
She was very love-hate with Jay's jokes sometimes. She was occasionally amused but other times she would get so annoyed with his immaturity. Whatever she felt about his jokes now, didn't matter. He seemed to ease her pain and Doris gradually fell asleep.
Jay was tired too. He raised his hand and looked at the time. It was already four o'clock in the morning.
He lay down and then went to sleep with her.
She couldn't sleep very well these days. Sometimes she'd end up kicking Jay in the night or even punching him by accident.
Jay tried his best to hold back his anger after essentially being beaten.
Through all this agony he only ended up sleeping for a couple hours. All of a sudden, he felt like the weight of the world was pressing him down. Still sleepy, he opened his droopy eyes.
His vision was blurry but he saw the cause. Half of Doris' body lay on top of him!
Jay was a little perplexed. He thought, 'How could she fall asleep in such an awkward position?'
"Doris..." Jay shouted.
She held him even tighter and said, "Keep quiet, Jay. Let me sleep a little longer."
This woman was quite calm, but what about Jay? He couldn't bear this anymore.
He wanted to throw her aside but he lingered hesitantly.
He narrowed his dashing eyes and fixed them on her face.
Then he moved them further down and stared at her stomach. For a moment, he wanted nothing more than to roll her over.
However, as soon as his hand touched her back, Doris woke up, enraged.
"What are you doing, Jay?" she questioned angrily. Doris stuck out her leg and shoved him off the bed.
He uncontrollably fell to the floor.
"You insane woman. Couldn't you be more careful?" He lay down on the floor and stared at her with fire in his eyes.
Doris had already forgotten that she had a stomachache last night. She glared at him and roared, "Jay! You are getting a bit too comfortable these days. What were you trying to do?" "Look, it's you who kicked me off the bed. I didn't do anything. You're the one who's doing the tormenting, not me!" Jay refused to back down.
"No! You're the one who's irking me," Doris said aggressively.
"I irked you? Have you forgotten that I cooked for you and took care of you just yesterday? I even rubbed your belly. How could you forget all that so quickly?" said Jay, shrugging his shoulders.
