Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love -
Chapter 277 Don't Think Too Much
"See Jay even if you have a point that is absolutely correct it does not give you the leeway to bully me like that!" Doris said with understandable seriousness in her tone.
"Come on! I never bullied you! It was you who climbed on me! I...." Jay let his voice trail off into silence. Instead he thought to himself, 'I did have something in the back of my mind. But before I could do anything you simply woke up.'
Jay felt unfairly accused by the way Doris was lambasting him.
"What are you indicating Jay? Are you trying to say that I am being unfair to you?"
"Yes Doris, you are being extremely mean to me and I feel wronged, is that clear?"
Doris absolutely lost her calm at this point. She screamed at Jay, "You bastard. You good-for-nothing! Get the hell out of here right now! Go so far away that I never have to see your face ever again! I can't bea the sight of you anymore!"
"My goodness Doris I have never ever seen a more unreasonable woman than you!" Jay shot back with irritation and anger.
Doris was at edge of her tolerance. Unable to control herself any longer she pushed Jay with all her might and shouted, "Get the fuck away from me you moron! Get lost right now! You have bullied me at every opportunity. You keep on doing it. If you do not admit it I swear I will tell Grandpa!"
"Shut up you crazy woman! Grandpa just recovered recently. Are you out of your mind? Don't be so reckless! Like this you will only anger Grandpa. Be calm and sensible," Jay rebuked her at the mention of Grandpa.
Doris calmed herself down and after a short pause very softly yet firmly said, "Jay you are really good at coaxing women, aren't you? This is how you got hold of Libby last night, isn't it?"
"No! Never!" Jay denied almost too quickly to make the answer sound believable. He added, "We just had a few drinks together. Stop blowing things out of proportions like this!"
"So Jay, tell me this, why did you turn your phone off last night?" Doris decided this was the time to strike the iron as it was still searing hot.
"Last night... Ahem... Um...." Of course Jay did not have the courage to own up to the truth. He could never tell Doris that he was tired of her constant bickering about everything. So instead Jay lied, "Charles made me turn off my phone. He wanted the night for just us as we were playing. He said he did not want any interruption from you!"
"Oh really? Just you people playing, is it? Then how do you explain the women I saw the other night? Did you order their service? Or was it Charles?" Doris questioned skeptically.
"Is that even a question you should be asking now? Obviously it was Charles. You are pregnant now. What makes you think that I will cheat on you now? That is not even in my wildest dreams! I promise!" Jay protested vehemently and shook his head.
"Oh, is that so? Um....I see!" Maybe for the first time in life, even though she was confused, she decided to believe whatever Jay said.
Still Doris could not completely trust Jay. So she called Nancy to verify if Jay was being totally honest. To her dismay she found that Jay as usual lied shamelessly.
Doris was broken into a thousand pieces. She was funning with rage. Her whole body trembled uncontrollably.
Seeing Doris this angry Jay could barely contain his fear. To save himself from the wrath he quickly hid in the bathroom and did not dare come out.
Doris simply ran out of the villa without a word.
She ran restlessly as far as her legs did not stop. She was not thinking straight. Her phone kept on ringing without pause. She knew who it was even without looking at the name or the number.
"I hate you, I hate you, I hate you! Jay, I wish you were dead!" She switched off her phone as she repeated the same thing over and over again.
She hailed the first taxi in her sight and headed towards the hospital in haste.
It was a weekend and she had no idea whether Nancy would be at work or not. If Nancy had no operation duty she probably would not go to the hospital.
Anyway she did not think of calling and checking with Nancy. Even if Nancy was not at the hospital Doris felt it was better for her to walk around the city rather than sitting angrily at home.
But in her heart Doris knew that she needed to speak to Nancy right now. She could not think of anyone else at the moment.
Coincidentally Nancy was at work even though it was weekend. She wanted to talk to Charles about Jessie but was interrupted when Doris called her.
Right after the call ended she had breakfast with the kids. That was when Erin called her with an emergency at hand. She needed to attend the patient as soon as possible.
Naturally Nancy answered to the beckon of her duty and took off for the hospital.
Nancy was still busy in the operation hall when a completely disheveled Doris arrived there.
When she was told that Nancy was there Doris waited for her in the office.
From time to time she habitually touched her belly and thought what the need to give birth to Jay's child was. Jay was nothing but the embodiment of lies and irresponsibility. Why on earth would she want to bring someone with the same genes to the earth?
In fact she realized that she wanted an abortion!
Actually to think of Jay, probably it was not even his fault completely. He was used to being a playboy. For him to suddenly fit well in the role of an ideal father was truly a difficult task. He had no idea of how to be responsible for a second person. He was always full of himself.
In reality with all these important duties on his shoulder he missed his past carefree life where he only had to worry about nothing but beautiful women.
Jay was a womanizer and being settled with one person was not exactly his taste.
Doris suddenly noticed that there was blooming chrysanthemum on Nancy's office windowsill.
Doris bent over to take a whiff of the smell and said, "Wow! That smells so good!"
Then out of nowhere her whole body began to itch badly.
She scratched her arms furiously and said, "Why I am so itchy suddenly? Am I allergic to the flower?"
She was actually allergic to pollen but nothing seemed to occur in the past few years. She thought now she was resistant to it and did not fear for an allergy. But what was happening now if she was already free from allergies?
"Oh my! This is so itchy! How do I stop this?" Slowly a red rash appeared on her face with all that itching.
Nancy walked in right at that moment and saw Doris in that terrible state.
"Dear lord! What is wrong with you Doris?" Nancy was in a complete shock and said, "That red rash on your face looks like you probably have AIDS"
Though Nancy joked Doris took the words seriously.
"Nancy, why do you say that I look like I have AIDS?"
Nancy explained with a smile on her face, "Well, this is how one looks at the early stage of AIDS. Come on! You are a doctor and you are telling me that you don't know that?"
"Amazing!" Doris exclaimed gleefully.
Nancy stared at her with wide, questioning and shocked eyes. "Why are you here on a weekend? Shouldn't you be resting at home with Jay? Why did you come all the way to the hospital to say something so strange? How can getting AIDS be good in any way? I am completely lost here! Help me out, will you?"
Doris affectionately put her arms on Nancy's shoulders and asked, "We are good friends right?"
"Obviously. Yeah."
"Since we are best friends I need you to do me a great favor! I need a single positive AIDS test result! Will you arrange that for me?"
"What? Have you lost your mind? That will be forgery! If anything gets disclosed I will be answerable. Who will combat the legal procedures then?" Nancy protested strongly as she still could not believe her
ears.
"Oh! Why are you such a coward? I will just use it to scare Jay! Who on earth will sue you? That scoundrel betrayed me. I won't let that go unpunished!"
"While I am completely with you on the fact that he should be punished and you have every right to take revenge, I really can't support your idea of doing it. Do not use your health as a bait. It is not a joking matter in any way! You will give birth to a baby and become a mother. You cannot be so impulsive anymore. You must think twice about the consequences before you take any step!"
"Worst comes to worst I will abort this pregnancy altogether. I don't think that Jay will ever be a good father because he has not changed even a little bit! Nancy I can't stop feeling that I made a huge mistake by marrying him. Why should I continue on with that mistake?" Doris's eyes welled up with tears as she spoke.
"Alas!" Nancy sighed and gave Doris a long, comforting hug. She then said, "Don't overthink now. You need to focus on your body now. Jay will become a better person once the baby is born. He will learn with time. Don't worry yourself sick like this!"
"But I'm really exhausted now!" Doris broke down.
"You need to stop thinking so much. Listen to me please!" Nancy brought a tissue and carefully wiped the corner of her eye.
