Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love
Chapter 292 Talk Highly Of Him

Nancy was desperate to relax in a quiet place. She wanted to be alone to calm herself down.

As such, she didn't want to tell Charles and their children.

With a distressed expression, Nancy said, "I don't want to see him now."

"Why? What happened?" Doris asked worriedly.

"Nothing!"

When she heard Nancy's dismissive tone, Doris decided not to push the issue. Instead, she smiled and said to Nancy, "Well, come inside!"

"Don't tell Jay, okay? Otherwise, he will tell Charles!" Nancy warned with a desperate voice.

"Aren't you worried that he and the kids might grow anxious if they can't replace you?" Doris asked as she raised an eyebrow.

"Am I welcome in your house or not?" Nancy asked with an impatient tone.

"What? Of course, you are!" When she noticed Nancy's sad tone, Doris speculated that something miserable might have happened. As such, she immediately invited Nancy to her home. As she breathed a sigh of relief, Nancy ended the call.

Meanwhile, Jay was sitting next to Doris. With a perplexed expression, Jay asked, "What's wrong with Nancy? She usually has a good temper. However, her tone during that call was quite grim. It's alarming to hear her speak so strangely."

After thinking for a while, Doris said anxiously, "You'd better call Charles. At least, they won't feel troubled when they can't replace Nancy. Oh, by the way, don't let him call Nancy. We can't let her know that we contacted Charles."

"Okay, I'll do it." Then, Jay brought out his phone. After he entered the number, Jay pressed the dial button and called Charles.

On the other hand, Charles had called Nancy several times. However, her phone was turned off. He couldn't understand why she suddenly avoided him.

Charles was just about to ask Hiram to look for Nancy at the hospital. Suddenly, his phone rang. When Charles looked at the screen, he saw that the call was from Jay.

"Jay? Why are you calling? Is something wrong?"

"Charles, it's important. Nancy just said that she would come to my house," said Jay with a shy voice.

"She's coming to your house? Well, did you agree?" A surprised expression painted Charles face as he did not expect such a turn of events.

"Hey, it's not my fault! I don't have the final say at this house. Doris was the one who agreed with Nancy!" A snicker escaped Jay's mouth. "By the way, Nancy doesn't want you to know that she's coming to our house. Just pretend that you don't know anything, okay?"

"Huh? Why?" Charles's confusion grew worse.

Nancy was fine last night. Suddenly, she seemed like a different person today.

"How could I know? I just thought the two of you quarreled. Well, women are fickle creatures. You should coax Nancy every once in a while. Since you two are a couple, don't fight all the time, okay?"

"I'm supposed to be saying that to you. Instead, you're the one reprimanding me." Charles furrowed his eyebrows. "Well, since Nancy's going there, at least help me figure out what's wrong."

In Charles's impression of her, Nancy wouldn't leave them for no reason. Even if she didn't care about him, she would at least worry about her children.

Therefore, something grim must have happened to her!

"Okay, fine. I'll see what I can learn," said Jay playfully.

As soon as he finished his words, Jay heard a car engine from the courtyard.

"That must be Nancy. Oh, I miss her so much!" Doris revealed her excitement.

"Well, you two can sleep together in our room tonight." Jay sighed as he loosened his expression.

Suddenly, Doris's face turned sour. She snorted and shouted at Jay, "What? You just don't want to share a room with me, right? I am always two steps ahead of you. You're dating Libby again, aren't you? I know you are! You're such a womanizer. No matter how much I forgive you, you're still..."

As soon as he heard Doris's nagging, Jay suddenly had a terrible headache. Fortunately, Nancy came in at that moment.

"Look! Nancy's here. I'll ask the chef to prepare some food. Just chat for a while." Then, Jay rushed towards the kitchen.

Doris welcomed Nancy with a hug. "I thought you were busy, so I seldom called you. I don't want to disturb you. Well, what happened? Why did you suddenly visit us?"

"I don't have any other place to go, Doris. You're the only one I can ask to accommodate me," answered Nancy, depressed.

"What do you mean you have nowhere else to go? Are you alright? What happened?" Doris asked anxiously. Then, she rubbed Nancy's back to comfort the latter.

"I don't want to talk about it, Doris. It's a long story, and I'm in a bad mood right now." Nancy revealed an aggrieved expression. Then, she let out a sigh of relief and gently broke free from Doris's hug. Then, Nancy lightly touched Doris's belly and said, "How's your pregnancy? Is the baby giving you a hard time?"

"The baby is well-behaved recently. Jay is the one who's being troublesome!" Doris's face turned sour as she pointed at the kitchen. "Why do I feel that men suddenly become liars after they get married?" "What's the problem? Did he annoy you again?" asked Nancy as she raised an eyebrow.

"Yes! That bastard will never change! I think he's still contacting Libby. It's horrible to think that he is sleeping next to me every night. The tarnished image of him doing sexual activity with that bitch is seared in my brain!" Doris became hysterical.

"Doris, calm down. Stop overthinking while you're pregnant. It's terrible for your baby. Although Jay is quite loose, he should have realized his responsibilities by now. There's no way he'd fall in love with someone he barely knows, right?" Nancy snickered as she caressed Doris's hand.

"I don't know. It's hard to say that Jay's innocent. Deep inside, I'm becoming insecure. I'll just ask Laura to investigate him as soon as possible!"

"Investigate? What are you talking about?"

Doris whispered to Nancy, "Nancy, I have a plan. I want to test how Jay behaves around other women. If he..."

Before Doris could finish her words. Jay's voice echoed from the kitchen. "What are you discussing? The cook is done preparing our dinner. Come here. Let's eat!"

"Wow, that was fast!" As she held Doris's hand, Nancy assisted Doris towards the dining room.

"The chef has been cooking for a long time. I'm just here to help. Have a look, both of you. The appearance of the dishes makes you crave even more, doesn't it?" said Jay enthusiastically as he walked out of the kitchen with soup in his hands.

When she glanced at the table, Nancy noticed that it was full of food that helped to stabilize the baby's condition. With a cheerful smile, she said, "Wow! They're all food that is highly praised by women. Of course, I have a deep craving for them!"

"Oh, these again? I'm already tired of eating the same dishes all day long!" Doris was exasperated.

"Doris, these dishes are nutritious and immensely beneficial for the baby. Please eat more, okay?" Nancy requested in a calm voice.

"Okay, fine! If it weren't for my baby, I wouldn't eat any of these," complained Doris as she rolled her eyes. Then, she grabbed a chair and sat.

"Alas!" Jay sighed and shook his head with a troubled expression. "Serving food to a pregnant woman is difficult."

"Look at that! Did you see how annoyed he was? He's been cold to me lately. I think he doesn't love me anymore!" shouted Doris as she pointed at Jay with tears on her face.

"No! What are you saying? Of course I love you! How could you think that I don't love you?" Jay immediately compromised, an expression of unease painted his face.

"I don't believe that you are still in love with me. Right, Nancy?" Doris insisted as she stared daggers at Jay.

Every woman would lose her temper during pregnancy. The hormonal imbalance made them cranky and prone to emotional outbursts. However, Doris's distrustful attitude and stubbornness were still abnormal "Jay, calm down. Doris is pregnant. You should expect her to be extremely emotional. Try to be more tolerant. Okay?" Nancy first consoled the currently helpless Jay. Then, she hugged Doris. As Nancy patted Doris's back, she said softly, "He didn't say anything wrong. It's quite difficult to take care of a pregnant woman. Nonetheless, it's his responsibility as a father. And even though he complained, Jay is still taking care of you. It's fine to let him voice out his worries now and then."

"Nancy, you always talk highly of him. Humph!" Although Doris sneered, Nancy's words got through her. Deep inside, Doris felt much better.

"Okay, let's eat! I hope that baby comes out healthy," said Nancy with cheerful glee.

"Let's dig in!" Doris also revealed a warm smile.

When he saw the bright expression on his wife's face, Jay finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Unfortunately, he had no idea that his wife was scheming a malicious trick on him!
