Chapter 1057 The Inner Fiend Wants To Be A Slave

Since it wasn't prudent to let Barnes assimilate the Inner Fiend for the moment, Darren decided toshackle him. He just had to figure out a way to do that.

"Finley, do you know a way to imprison him?" Darren himself was a martial artist. This meant hedidn't have the rule skills to imprison people.

"Finding a place won't be a problem. Let's just put him in the Ancient Void Battlefield," the WaterKylin proposed.

"Please hear me out.” Deep inside, the Inner Fiend was panicking. His desperation had urged him tocontinue, "My purpose for cooperating with the first fiend ancestor is to assimilate Barnes andbecome an eight-tribulation senior holy warrior.”

"Cut the crap. We know that already.” It was the Water Kylin who spoke. His fangs were bared, andhe waved his claws in the air threateningly.

The Inner Fiend's face crumpled in anger. The corners of his lips were pulled down and his nose wasall scrunched up. However, he restrained his fury because he knew he was too weak to fight themoff any longer.

"If it were up to me, I wouldn't have cooperated with the first fiend ancestor in the first place. He'sdangerous, and I think you know what I mean,” the Inner Fiend said.

Darren remained silent. Finley glanced at him briefly before asking, "Are you saying you want towork with us now?"

"Smart guy!” The Inner Fiend smiled admiringly and then continued, "I will work with you only if youbring Barnes to me."

"Are you an idiot?" the Water Kylin sneered. "We'd rather believe in Barnes than in you. If we giveyou to him, we'll let him assimilate you and then we'll have an eight-tribulation senior holy warriorfor an ally.”

It was obvious that he was trying to intimidate the Inner Fiend.

"No! You can't do that! " Just as the Water Kylin had expected, the Inner Fiend fell for his threat. IfBarnes did arrive at this moment, the Inner Fiend wouldn't be able to resist him. He would beassimilated in no time. "Don’t trust my real body. He's more cunning than I am. He's only helpingyou because you have something that interests him. Once he becomes the eight-tribulation seniorholy warrior, he will be your enemy!"

"And what about you? If you become an eight-tribulation senior holy warrior, will you not be ourenemy as well? What a joke!" Finley sneered.

"Save me. If you don't come, you won't get your other bodies." He sent this message to the firstfiend ancestor.

"No, I won't," the first fiend ancestor responded coldly.

"I am willing to be your slave," the Inner Fiend bargained. He sounded forced when he said this.Darren was stunned when he heard this.

Everyone knew that the Inner fiend was arrogant. He had been imprisoned in the Raksa Sea formillions of years and yet he never begged or bowed his head to anyone. But now, he wanted to beDarren's slave? It was unbelievable.

"What tricks are you up to now?" The Water Kylin slapped the Inner Fiend across the face. But deepdown, however, he was excited by the idea of the Inner Fiend becoming a slave. He would come inhandy especially once he became an eight-tribulation senior holy warrior. The human race wouldhave one less enemy to worry about.

"I'm not trying to trick you. I'm just really scared. I'd rather be a slave than live in a void. This is theonly choice left for me.” The desperation and despair were evident in the Inner Fiend's voice. Heseemed very lost.

"Finley, suppress him!" Darren, however, wasn't swayed by the Inner Fiend's pleas. He went aheadwith absorbing the fiend and Finley into the Ancient Void Battlefield.

"No!" A painstaking roar shook the earth. "Please believe me! I beg you!"

"Well, Master?" As soon as Finley and the Inner Fiend were gone, the Water Kylin turned to look atDarren. Unlike Darren, he was willing to try out the deal.

"What do you want to say?" Darren asked calmly.

"Don't you think having him as a slave will be useful? If we let him assimilate Barnes, then we havenothing more to worry about,” the Water Kylin said convincingly.

"Do you think it'll make him trustworthy by making him call me master?" Darren retorted.

"Of course it is. I call you master, and I have never disobeyed you once." Indeed, the relationshipbetween the Water Kylin and Darren was that of a master and a slave. The rules for such connectionwas rigid and specific to the point of being terrifying.

Darren laughed and shook his head. "That's because you aren't as strong as he is. If he becomes aneight-tribulation senior holy warrior, the rule that bounds him as my slave would become unstable.Who knows maybe he can break it eventually.

Besides, we have no proof yet that Barnes is targeting the human race. Maybe he won't? Maybe hewill? It's all just conjecture. If Barnes really wants to help the human race, but we simply capture himand give him to his enemy, do you think it's fair to him? It's not my style to do such a thing.

There was no rush in accepting the Inner Fiend's offer. After all, he was still under Darren's mercywhether they accepted it or not.
